21-25. Well, not much is happening. Either the Wings are doing their job, or things are mighty quiet. You know your thoughts shouldn't wander or stray.... but you look away for a moment, stretching your neck, and resettling yourself on your dragons back. Unfortunately, things happen quickly. Your dragon lets out a shriek of pain as you're hit with Thread! You hadn't seen it fall from behind, too far back from where your dragon could see. Roll a D4 for Damage!

They appeared once more, though still shaking like leaves in a storm. Ezyzu's hands trembled as she worked through each step of her flamethrower until the mechanism sprang free and finally fired the searing blaze at a safe angle.

41-44. You suddenly see a clump of Thread. Your dragon wheels towards
it. With a flash of hot fire, you manage to catch the whole clump, and turn it into harmless ash. And they say the Queen's Wing doesn't do anything, pfft.
You'll prove them you're just as worthwhile as any of the fighting wings. Well done! +1 Flame Length

A clump of thread slid past them as Susurinth was shaking herself clear of a brush that might have hurt her rider. While she turned to dive for it, concerned about what would happen to the non-riders below, for Pern, Pavari pulled her out of it. They couldn't dive, there would be risk of yet more finding it's way through.

With a sigh, Susurinth finally seemed to shake off what she was feeling, letting herself be in the moment as much as she could. She would feel like a failure later, when she laid on her ledge alone and missing a dragon a whole ocean away. He would know what to do, would know how to help their children and keep them safe, but she was doing no such thing. Luckily, Cordrath's golden daughter was proving to be an excellent wingrider, catching falling dragons, her siblings included.

Given that they had worked together very well, their focus their attentiveness and how well they could line up for the flame thrower to torch thread to bits, to hear Pavari's scream before pain bloomed through her back almost startled Susurinth more than anything ever had. It was eating through them actively, sinking into skin and searing away at them. Even the cold of Between didn't remove the worst of the pain as they finally returned from it, Pavari's hands quickly clearing the jam in the flamethrower as fast as she could. Her arm was bleeding and she could see the sear marks and ichor on Susurinth's hind quarters and back, bringing tears to her eyes as she steeled herself with a harsh breath.

They would be okay. They would be okay.

Pemli and Gold Ningesth (Queen's Wing, Full Flight)

There time of nothing happening was short lived, as Pemli spots a tangle of Thread that must have gotten past the wings above. She directs Ningesth to catch up to it and she readies her flamethrower as she does so. Unfortunately, they didn't get there in time and it falls towards the ground below them. Pemli feels sick to her stomach, knowing this could kill people below.

Just remember about where it fell, Mine. We will make up for it, I know we will,Ningesth spoke firmly. Honestly, she felt bad too, but they still had a job to do. Once Threadfall was over, they would make sure to pass on to the ground crew where it and the one before fell.

Pemli and Gold Ningesth (Queen's Wing, Full Flight)

Despite all of Ningesth's strong words, Pemli could feel her gold getting tired. As much as the gold was her rock, she knew seeing a white fall made the gold think of what if it had been one of her children. As the wind tried to knock them off course, Pemli bit her bottom lip nervously, holding on tight. Thankfully, Ningesth seemed to get a second wind and keeps herself in formation.

I can't let myself get tired, too many counting on us,Ningesth thought to her rider, filling the other with some courage as well.

Pemli and Gold Ningesth (Queen's Wing, Full Flight)

It seemed the wind wasn't done, as it pushes some strands of Thread in their direction. As if to prove her determination, Ningesth begins to dance around them like they were nothing. She really made it look easy, which seemed to bolster Pemli even more. The young woman brought up her flamethrower and torched some of the strands, before they could cause damage.

Beautiful work, PemliMine. I knew we could handle it,Ningesth spoke with pride, Pemli sending her own pride back to her gold.

Pemli and Gold Ningesth (Queen's Wing, Full Flight)

Things seemed to calm down now, it all seemed very quiet. Pemli looked to the skies above them for a moment, hoping her mate and mom were both doing alright. She couldn't help but worry, considering she had already heard of one bronze who died. Giving herself a moment to stretch a little and readjust on Ningesth's back. Unfortunately, that had been a mistake, as a mental shriek from her dragon snaps her back to attention. Looking where it hit, she noticed it was her gold's back leg, where she couldn't have seen it and get out of its way. Thankfully, Ningesth managed to pop between and deal with it. When they pop back, the gold assures her rider it was just a graze.

Oh, that was too close. I am sorry, Ningesth, she mentally whispered, trying not to cry.

Hey, I am fine. And you do not have to apologize, we both will just do better next time,Ningesth assured.

If this is your fourth time rolling this status, you start feeling Guilt [Take 3 Turns of Guilt! Any Damage rolled takes an additional -4 HP. Any successful bonuses by other players don't affect your character. You just don't deserve it.] (only first time)
3) 7. 6-15. You see a stray strand writhe out of the corner of your eye. Your rider quickly twists in her seat, and catches the errant strand with a well-timed aim of their flamethrower! +1 Target Accuracy
4) 30. 26-30. As you're looking for the rogue Thread, you notice one of your wingmates in danger. You and your dragon call out warning and are lucky to see the pair respond. Quote a Wingmate and have all damage removed from their most recent roll!
5) 13. 6-15. You see a stray strand writhe out of the corner of your eye. Your rider quickly twists in her seat, and catches the errant strand with a well-timed aim of their flamethrower! +1 Target Accuracy

Queen's Wing (Hour 1/Round 2)
1) 100. 98-100. Another gust wind blows, sending some silvery strands of Thread your way! Your dragon manages to twist their way through it with surprising and relative ease, and you're able to even flame down some of the fray! [+1 Agility // +1 Target Accuracy]
2) 59. 55-59. You dive for a clump of Thread, and successfully find yourself turning it into harmless ash. +1 Target Accuracy
3) 71. 70-74. As you're burning down a clump of Thread, something doesn't seem right.
With a sudden shout and twist, your dragon lurches to the side, as a shaffing bag of firestone comes hurdling down. Damnit! What on Pern are they doing up there!?! Amateurs! +1 Instinct

4) 29. 26-30. As you're looking for the rogue Thread, you notice one of your wingmates in danger. You and your dragon call out warning and are lucky to see the pair respond. Quote a Wingmate and have all damage removed from their most recent roll!
5) 61. 60-69. A whole lot of nothin'. The Queen's Wing can sure be quiet sometimes. You should be getting XP points for patience the way this is going. Part of you wonders how your fellow wingmates are doing... maybe your dragon can get you a status report.

Queen's Wing (Hour 2/Round 1)
1) 86. 85-89. A tangle of Thread manages to slip through! Though you try to get it, you're not fast enough, or aim was way off base. Though it doesn't hurt you and your dragon, you do watch as it makes it through the last line of defense, to fall upon the helpless world below. Crops, plants, animals, and even possibly people are now in danger... you can only hope the ground crews will find the burrow safely once Thread is through. If this is your fourth time rolling this status, you start feeling Guilt [Take 3 Turns of Guilt! Any Damage rolled takes an additional -4 HP. Any successful bonuses by other players don't affect your character. You just don't deserve it.] (only 2nd time)
2) 97. 93-97. Your dragon is starting to feel tired. This particular fight is wearing them down. A strong gust of winds tries to throw them out of their position. Roll a D4 to see what happens!
1. Success! Your dragon successfully recovers, and keeps in formation. [+1 Stamina]

3) 99. 98-100. Another gust wind blows, sending some silvery strands of Thread your way! Your dragon manages to twist their way through it with surprising and relative ease, and you're able to even flame down some of the fray! [+1 Agility // +1 Target Accuracy]
4. It's nothing but a flesh wound! In fact, your dragon was able to pop Between swiftly, so the damage is, quite frankly, nothing more than a graze. Minor Damage: -1 HP

Pemli and Gold Ningesth (Queen's Wing, Full Flight)

Pemli could feel Ningesth under her feeling restless again, but they both knew their work in the Queen's Wing was important. As much as it could get boring sometimes, they were the last line of defense against innocent people getting hurt. Even if they didn't get all of it, they could pass on to the ground crew where things dropped. Despite this knowledge, she felt Ningesth fidget a little.

I know our job is important, but this is boring right now. Though, I know, got to do this, came the gold's mental sigh.
