C'sar of Bronze Illiandinth

Thankfully, it was not long before they were pronounced healthy enough to fight again! C'sar felt oddly triumphant, as though this were somehow more difficult than actually fighting Thread.

Ky'ra and Gold Zultoloth

Half flying, half falling to the weyrbowl, Ky'ra and Zultoloth landed with very little grace. They were immediately swarmed with healers who swiftly began to check them over for signs of living thread. There was no time, really, to ask whether they were fit to fight. The blasted flamethrower needed tending, anyway.

Their trip down to the healer's station was at least quicker than the last run they had, though still just as bad. Ezyzu was doing her best to keep a brave face as her wounds were once more cleaned and field dressed. What worried her more was Khamaith, who was stone silent as she was seen to. Ezyzu pushed a wave of warmth to her beloved, smiling weakly when Khamaith turned to her. Yet she climbed back up, a move that was more a crawl with the shape of her left leg, and the pair launched once more into the air with the newest of wounds dressed and numbed away from pain.

9-10. You're in luck! The wound isn't as bad as first feared. They're able to see to you almost immediately, and are able to quickly get you patched up and on your way. The Weyrhealers are effective and quite efficient! You May Return to Your Wing! Full HP Returned if White! +20 HP for Greens! +25 HP for Blues! +30 HP for Browns! +35 HP for Bronzes and Golds! Status Effect Removed!

Pemli and Gold Ningesth (Queen's Wing, Full Flight)

Pemli and Ningesth pop back down to the Weyrbowl, Ningesth trying to land as gently as she could. Once she touched down, she winced in pain, but the healers surrounded her and Ningesth.

Take care of my rider first,Ningesth instructed, watching them place Pemli into a tank, to deal with any Thread that between might have missed. They begin to work on both of them, not being very gentle, causing Ningesth to growl a little.

They are doing their job, lovely, just..be patient with them,Pemli reminded her partner. They couldn't leave yet, it would take the healers time to get them patched up.

Queen's Wing (Hour 1/Round 1)
1) 37. 35-40. You want to do more. You want to be more. You're frustrated by the lack of action down in the lower wings, though you do now it's a very important role. You fidget in your riding straps. If this is the 3rd time you roll this in the game you now suffer 3 turns of Antsy You are too eager to get out there and fight. Any successful flaming down of Thread yields double XP but also causes can extra Moderate Damage -3 HP. In your hurry to flame Thread you make rookie errors, such as flying into the ash cloud, flying into your fellow wingmates space and getting burned, over-reaching and pulling a muscle, not sitting right in your straps and getting whipped around, etc. (only first time)
2) 86. 85-89. A tangle of Thread manages to slip through! Though you try to get it, you're not fast enough, or aim was way off base. Though it doesn't hurt you and your dragon, you do watch as it makes it through the last line of defense, to fall upon the helpless world below. Crops, plants, animals, and even possibly people are now in danger... you can only hope the ground crews will find the burrow safely once Thread is through. If this is your fourth time rolling this status, you start feeling Guilt [Take 3 Turns of Guilt! Any Damage rolled takes an additional -4 HP. Any successful bonuses by other players don't affect your character. You just don't deserve it.] (only first time)
3) 7. 6-15. You see a stray strand writhe out of the corner of your eye. Your rider quickly twists in her seat, and catches the errant strand with a well-timed aim of their flamethrower! +1 Target Accuracy
4) 30. 26-30. As you're looking for the rogue Thread, you notice one of your wingmates in danger. You and your dragon call out warning and are lucky to see the pair respond. Quote a Wingmate and have all damage removed from their most recent roll!
5) 13. 6-15. You see a stray strand writhe out of the corner of your eye. Your rider quickly twists in her seat, and catches the errant strand with a well-timed aim of their flamethrower! +1 Target Accuracy

Queen's Wing (Hour 1/Round 2)
1) 100. 98-100. Another gust wind blows, sending some silvery strands of Thread your way! Your dragon manages to twist their way through it with surprising and relative ease, and you're able to even flame down some of the fray! [+1 Agility // +1 Target Accuracy]
2) 59. 55-59. You dive for a clump of Thread, and successfully find yourself turning it into harmless ash. +1 Target Accuracy
3) 71. 70-74. As you're burning down a clump of Thread, something doesn't seem right.
With a sudden shout and twist, your dragon lurches to the side, as a shaffing bag of firestone comes hurdling down. Damnit! What on Pern are they doing up there!?! Amateurs! +1 Instinct

4) 29. 26-30. As you're looking for the rogue Thread, you notice one of your wingmates in danger. You and your dragon call out warning and are lucky to see the pair respond. Quote a Wingmate and have all damage removed from their most recent roll!
5) 61. 60-69. A whole lot of nothin'. The Queen's Wing can sure be quiet sometimes. You should be getting XP points for patience the way this is going. Part of you wonders how your fellow wingmates are doing... maybe your dragon can get you a status report.

Queen's Wing (Hour 2/Round 1)
1) 86. 85-89. A tangle of Thread manages to slip through! Though you try to get it, you're not fast enough, or aim was way off base. Any successful bonuses by other players don't affect your character. You just don't deserve it.] (only 2nd time)
2) 97. 93-97. Your dragon is starting to feel tired. This particular fight is wearing them down. A strong gust of winds tries to throw them out of their position. Roll a D4 to see what happens!
1. Success! Your dragon successfully recovers, and keeps in formation. [+1 Stamina]

3) 99. 98-100. Another gust wind blows, sending some silvery strands of Thread your way! Your dragon manages to twist their way through it with surprising and relative ease, and you're able to even flame down some of the fray! [+1 Agility // +1 Target Accuracy]
4) 21. 21-25. Well, not much is happening. Either the Wings are doing their job, or things are mighty quiet. You know your thoughts shouldn't wander or stray.... but you look away for a moment, stretching your neck, and resettling yourself on your dragons back. Unfortunately, things happen quickly. Your dragon lets out a shriek of pain as you're hit with Thread! You hadn't seen it fall from behind, too far back from where your dragon could see. Roll a D4 for Damage!
4. It's nothing but a flesh wound! In fact, your dragon was able to pop Between swiftly, so the damage is, quite frankly, nothing more than a graze. Minor Damage: -1 HP

5) 39. 35-40. You want to do more. You want to be more. You're frustrated by the lack of action down in the lower wings, though you do now it's a very important role. You fidget in your riding straps. If this is the 3rd time you roll this in the game you now suffer 3 turns of Antsy You are too eager to get out there and fight. [Once Antsy is taken, the counter for this effect is reset and you must roll this 3 more times, etc.]

2) 45. 45-50. You keep looking up, but nothing seems to be heading your way. Your neck is starting to object, but it doesn't matter. You must be ever vigilant, or so the saying goes. The Queen's Wing is an important position, but it sure can be boring... Part of you wishes you could be higher up, where all the action is. Part of you is grateful you're safer down here.
3) 5. 1-5. This clump of thread had its eye on you. It defied all the odds and made it through not one, but three wings of dragon riders actively fighting above! It's up to you to flame it! If a Queen, your dragon puts you in position, and as you go to flame it down, you find your equipment's jammed! By the time you realize what's going on, the thread is on you, your arm, your legs, your dragon's neck back, and side. It has attached, and immediately starts to feast! Major Damage -15 HP if a Queen. plus Painful status for the next 3 turns. This will negate any XP gained, and cause double damage if the prompt includes damage (or has you roll for damage).
4) (Healer's station) 6. 5-7. The healer looks at your wound and starts trying to patch you up. They're not being particularly gentle on you, but you can tell they're quite invested in making sure your wound (or your dragons) heals right! Unfortunately, that's going to take some time. Return Request Denied! Regain +5 HP but re-roll from the Healers Grid! You still haven't been given clearance to return!

Pemli and Gold Ningesth (Queen's Wing, Full Flight)

The healers pulled Pemli out of the tank and work on applying redwort to her wounds. She began feeling a whole lot better as they work on patching her up and Ningesth too. Once they were given clearance to return to their wing, rider and dragon shared a sigh of relief.

Let's get back up there, Mine. And I will try to be more careful, the gold spoke. Pemli climbed back into her straps, making sure to make what adjustments she needed to. Then the pair took off for the skies once more.

Damage Save Available from the first half of Hour 2!

It seemed like quick thinking had spared Amairrith’s wingsails the worst of Thread’s evil bite. Amai gave a long, drawn-out sigh as two healers bustled around her. Qiana slid from her straps and rushed to her muzzle, gently stroking her beloved. I’m sorry… I should have been more aware, I should have been thinking straighter.

Do not be so harsh on yourself… did you see? Even Elrinth was shunted out of position, and she is much larger than I! It was not something we could fight. But… my wing is feeling much better…

Would you like to return? She didn’t want to push her dear dragon too much; she still worried about Fire Storm, and at least from down here, she could watch her injured wingmates land.

Yes. Our job is not yet done. Let’s fly.

With the healers’ approval, the pair climbed upwards and returned to their formation.

The green landed roughly in the sand, ichor streaming off of scores as she panted, collapsing down onto her belly so that Xela could unlatch herself from her straps to be looked at as well as she all but fell into the sand. Honestly, it sounded like a good idea to just lay down, but one of the healers sat her down instead, insisting she kept talking so she wouldn't just pass out against Cubath's side out of sympathy pain.

[5/5] - healing

Quote:
The healer looks at your wound and starts trying to patch you up. They're not being particularly gentle on you, but you can tell they're quite invested in making sure your wound (or your dragons) heals right! Unfortunately, that's going to take some time. Return Request Denied! Regain +5 HP but re-roll from the Healers Grid! You still haven't been given clearance to return!

I wish we'd held up a little while longer, Xela murmured across her bond with Cubath. She was thankful they'd still landed safely and nothing worse had come of it, but she was sore and tired....and they'd flown all that was needed of them ultimately. Let the healers fuss - she'd not have it in her to go back up.

Phylideth hurt, and the soreness seeped through his flesh as they settled in the bowl to be tend to. Though the brown was at least kind enough to tell Cloveth there was no need to worry, no need to fuss. T'mor was just being diligent was all...right?

The healer's assessment would confirm his words as well, it had just felt bad. However, T'mor would not feel bad for checking on the health of his dragon before they continued the fight, and he pat the brown's side before climbing into his riding straps to return to his wing.

Ar'ad and Turoth popped into the Weyr for a quick fix from the healers. They didn't stay long, but the healers worked their magic, the pain of Thread forgotten for a moment, leaving just a dull ache and the promise of more to come. Ar'ad thanked them, as did Turoth, before the pair returned to their wing.

As they returned, they were set upon by healers, K'mar slid off Vith so they could better tend to his dragon, especially his wing muscles, and watched as the brown dragon's eyes closed with relief. He felt a bit badly for pushing him so hard - Vith was strong, but he certainly wasn't as gung-ho as K'mar was - but he could feel the urge to fight within his bonded. Vith was eager to do what he was born to do and K'mar wasn't going to stop him.

A bit of TLC from the healers and soon they were given the all clear to return. Vith was ready from the look of it, wings beating as if to take off without K'mar on him.

"Easy there, Vith! Let me get on," he said with a laugh, hauling himself up onto his dragon. "All right, let's go kick some Thread a-" He was cut off as Vith jumped into the air, shifting Between in a heartbeat.

Adarith came roaring into the Weyr, startling a few of the greener Candidates who were running around helping. Healers rushed to the dragon as he bellowed in pain, scratching furiously at his face.

"It's off, Adarith!" T'sar shouted, getting jostled around in his saddle. It took a team of healers to get the huge brown to stop and once they got his head in their hands he began to calm down. The pain slowly ebbed as they numbed the area and when he could finally open his eye, both he and T'sar were relieved he could see. The ridge and just below were certainly going to be scarred, but he had closed his eye in the nick of time.

A few minutes later and they were off again, Adarith on a mission moreso than he had been before.

Ky'ra and Gold Zultoloth

If Zultoloth was looking a bit peaky, it was undoubtedly because of how the healers working on her were running a bit roughshod over her.
