Just stay focused, keep flaming. Stop thinking about a pretty blue further up in the sky that might need help but certainly needed some love courtesy of one large brown. F'nar was rolling his eyes even as he directed the distracted and love addled brown.

It was the time for fighting thread, but here his brown was, daydreaming about love.

I believe you've been using too much fire stone in your attempts to be the best in the sky beloved. Belia found the bag empty to her dismay, but at least they were safe for the time being with nothing in their general vicinity. Cozellath laughed brightly and called for a weyrling who came zipping up in a flash to remedy their situation.

Once more the small green and her rider danced around through the air, flaming here and hopping Between there. None of the clumps or strands that dared to fall near them made it through, but it certainly was like a game to the little spritely green.

A sliver was falling just at the edge of Cozellath's vision, which meant that it was directly behind her almost, yet the green seemed to whip around three hundred and sixty degrees without a care, her flame scorching it out of the air instantly. Belia's eyes were wide for only a few moments as they spun back into formation without risking a wingmate and she let her heartbeat calm back to normal with a few breaths as her dragon laughed.

Thus far uninjured and preforming splendidly, Cozellath trumpeted and bugled her way around some thread and seared others, calling out to her wingmates who were doing rougher than she was, hoping in some way to help ease their pain and boost their spirits. She might have been one of the smallest members of the wing but the striped green could be good for something!

It had been an accident. When C'mric pointed out which clump of Thread was closest and needed flaming, Orthoth misunderstood and focused on another, further away. Still, with his usual enthusiasm, the bronze summoned a gout of flame without pausing for correction. This time, the flame was much longer than C'mric expected. What should have been a miss was a success instead, leaving a surprised rider and a very smug dragon.

Rolling for M'lem & bronze Tarienth:: NPC Wingleader :: Uta (with her permission)

Quote:
1-5. You made the wrong call, plain and simple. If a Wingleader you have your entire wing move into a formation that is not sufficient in fighting this particular brand of Threadfall. Perhaps you just hadn't noticed the wind change, or you just forgot which formation to use. Whatever the case, you realize your error too late! Those dragons don't question -- they follow you to the end, and by the time you notice your mistake, it's too late! All Wingriders Take 3 HP Damage!

Ash'il kept his eyes open, knowing that Thread could slip down here at any moment. He felt the keen of his dragon below him and he learned from Iptoneth it was a dragon who belonged to Trespassers Wing...Thella and Lireloth. He couldn't believe they had lost a fellow rider already, he hoped it would not be more.

Their deaths will not be in vein, we will continue the fight. And when we can, we will mourn as a Weyr,Iptoneth thought. In fact, he saw a chance to prove his point about the fight, pulling into a dive, to flame down some Thread he had seen. To make matters even better, he noticed he had managed to save one of their wingmates from getting hurt by it.

Well done, Iptoneth,Ash'il thought to him with pride.

Rolls

Hour 1, Round 1 (Low Alt)
1. 13) Trying valiantly to catch some thread, your dragon flames a bit sooner than you would have preferred. Surprisingly enough, the flame is long, hot, and sustained longer than usual. Your dragon manages to flame the clump and return to their position in their wing. [+1 Flame Length]
2. 5) A small clump of Thread has fallen through! You successfully flame it down. [+1 Target Accuracy]
3. 11) You check in on your dragon to ensure they're doing all right. Thankfully, your dragon responds that they're feeling fine. All that training and practicing is coming full circle, as your dragon isn't feeling particularly fatigued. If they are suffering from a Fatigue Effect, they get a burst of renewed energy and the status is removed. [+1 Stamina] If your dragon isn't suffering, you are allowed to quote a fellow wingmate (must be in your same wing) who is suffering the effect! Your dragon trumpets at them encouragingly, making them feel better, and giving them a renewed burst of energy and effort. Remove Fatigue Effect from one wingmate!
4. 7) Oh no, look out! A small clump of thread broke through the ranks, and has managed to hit your and your dragon. It is an ugly tangle, and though you blink between, it's going to hurt! [Moderate Damage -5 HP. You are now flying with a Painful status effect. This will negate your next immediate rolls XP and double damage if the roll includes set damage (or has you roll for damage).
5. 20) Something doesn't feel right. You wind up glancing over your shoulder just in time to see a small, silver strand drifting dangerously close to your dragon. Thankfully, your dragon shares your thoughts, and is able to blink Between and higher above their position, missing the strand, and saving yourself from a score. [+1 Instinct] (Negated by painful effect)

Hour 1, Round 2 (Low Alt)
(Since there was a -1, +5, -3 from WL/WS rolls, added one back to HP after all of it lol)
1. 12) By Faranth! You and your dragon pull off a pretty awesome move to catch some Thread that's fallen through. You're able to save one of your Wingmates! Quote one of your Wingmates who took damage this Round! This will remove damage and any possible negative effect from that roll!

Mine, look, more Thread,Iptoneth commented to his rider, when he noticed some out of the corner of his eye. Unfortunately, because of his bigger size, he couldn't get out of its path in time. It hits his side and he let out a hiss of pain, before popping Between to render it useless. When they got back, it stung a little, but not as badly as it could have.

Good thing it wasn't a very big piece,Ash'il agreed.

Ash'il watched all around them, but wasn't prepared when his dragon dived under him. He noticed now the strand Iptoneth was going after, right before he jerked hard to the right. What the...that was not what he expected at all! Fortunately, the reason for the sudden movement was soon explained when the wind picked up and blew the strand in the direction they had been only a moment before. Now it was in the perfect position for his bronze to flame it from the sky.

Come now, you should expect anything from me,Iptoneth chuckled softly into his mind.

You're low on firestone! If you've already replenished recently (within the last 5 posts) you may choose to skip this roll and just do a general post for no XP. OR you can keep it and blame it on a faulty bag, or some other excuse for being without stone. Call for one of the weyrlings to send you another sack of stone! [Flag down a weyrling! I Need Some Firestone!

Without warning, Slidrianth let out a piercing keen, his entire body shuddering from the loss of a dragon. D'zrak had no idea who it was who'd gone Between. Thella and Brown Lireloth. The bronze replied, sounding quite subdued. As callous as it sounded, his rider could only be grateful that it wasn't Amare.

D'zrak reached to provide Slidrianth with more firestone--and made an irritated sound when he realized they were running low. No problem. It was easy enough to have Sli signal for more.

2. 9) Your dragon notices a sudden writhing stream of silver thread out of the corner of his or her eye. If a white, green, or blue, with surprising grace, they turn on a wingtip and manage to flame it to ash. You successfully flame it down. [+2 Target Accuracy] If a brown or bronze, you find yourself unable to dodge, and take a hit! [Minor Damage if Bronze - 1 HP // Moderate Damage if Brown - 3 HP]
3. 8 ) Your dragon dives for a strand of thread that has fallen through the upper wings. Right before they belch forth their flame, they suddenly jerk hard to the right, almost in a roll, and quite unexpectedly. Sure enough, a gust of wind would have whipped the thread back in their face! Instead, the strand whips by, and your dragon is able to successfully flame it. [+1 Instinct]
4. 6) A strong gust of wind suddenly pushes you off course and right into a sliver of Thread! If you're a bronze or brown, you or your dragon take a scathing hit, unable to get out of the way. [Minor Damage -3 HP] If you're a blue or green, you wind up twisting easily out of the way, flaming it down successfully! [+1 Stamina]

5. 12) By Faranth! You and your dragon pull off a pretty awesome move to catch some Thread that's fallen through. You're able to save one of your Wingmates! Quote one of your Wingmates who took damage this Round! This will remove damage and any possible negative effect from that roll!

43-60. Well, things seem to be okay! You're doing your job, as you should. Nothing's going wrong right now... but nothing seems to be going overly right, either. Just another day fighting Threadfall.
