Finnisa - HR - She/Her
Well, things had gone from interesting to off-the-wall-hectic, and inside of, what, ten minutes? There was blood on the sands, and perhaps more babies out at once than she'd ever seen. Unthinkingly she reached out to grab at Haveli's sleeve, tugging her just enough to duck away from any nearing hatchling that looked angry... but she didn't turn in full flight either. It wasn't best to run when the herd spooked either, but to stay calm and alert. Hopefully the faster they'd find theirs, the faster they could calm. "So much for an easy time... Poor little green barely got a chance to look around first, and now all this? Well, I hope they all realize that we'll wait as long as they need, but still..."

Oh! Careful not to accidentally claw her twin, Sunshine green wiggled and squirmed until she fell onto the sands. She lifted her head to watch her battling brothers with her eyes whirling unhappily, before she managed to get her feet under her. After carefully nuzzling Sunshine blue, she turned her attention first to the Blue Moon green. I'm sorry, sister. I didn't mean to take away from your success--maybe I could help you in finding Yours...?

Her gait was a little unsteady, but she was up and trying to toddle after her sister now. She was shooting concerned glances at the Candidates though, trying to send gentle, soothing waves at them when she could.

Ara

With all the hatchlings on the sands, it should have been difficult for Ara to keep track of the young dragonets, but she was finding that if she let her eyes unfocus it was easier to see the colorful beauties' movement and generally be aware of their locations as their dramatics unfolded. Thus, she saw the brown moving angrily toward the candidates with his teeth bared, but was far enough to the back to have no cause for personal alarm. She was, of course, concerned for her bitten compatriots, but it was not her task to tend to them.

Every so often her gaze would return to the blue whose head had all too briefly peeked from his shell, checking to see whether he was ready to come out. She couldn't help hoping that she'd get to see him soon. Him, and whatever dragonet eventually emerged from the Orange Slice Egg. It was absurdly presumptuous for a drudge to have those sorts of wishes about dragons, but she was having them. She hoped they found their perfect pairings soon, and that their humans weren't injured before the bond happened.

She was smiling like a fool and absently brushing at her forearms, where fish scales had dried and were pulling her skin tight. A few shimmering flakes fell onto the sands.

Well....it seemed like nobody was gonna give Funfetti Blue the 'okay we're done so you can have a turn now' signal. So, without further ado, he finally pushed himself, with a little struggle between his size and the size of the hole in his shell, out a- nope.

Nope, he was not out. It would be obvious to those with a vantage point that Funfetti had gotten himself stuck for the time being. Still, he didn't seem too bothered as he, egg coming along, flopped onto one side to strain his nose over to 90's Picture Egg for a boop.

Don't you worry, they'll sort it out and we'll all laugh about it later.

Meddling fool! If they're stupid enough not to back up when I approach, than they deserve to have their flesh torn apart! Who are you to tell me how to find Mine? You aren't my keeper. The Moo Cow Brown couldn't believe his brother had the audacity to plead with him. Just because he was some miserable metallic, he thought he ought to tell them all how to act and behave?

His anger and rage only grew.

It wasn't fair, it wasn't right, and nobody seemed to be calling his brother out on his bullshit. Moo Cow would. And he'd stain the sands green with his ichor to tell the tale.

He was beyond reason at this point.

He was enraged.

Dalini - HR - She/Her

The waves of anger that rolled off the brown were strong, and took the waif of a candidate by complete surprise. The distressing emotions, not of her own, were what she was prepared for, taught about. But experiencing it was an entirely different kettle of beans.

It’s slow breaths that help the anger and ire melt away, thinking about warmer, softer, kinder things than the spikes of anger that threatened to cook up memories of past turns, to be angry at situations she hadn’t been.

No, she needed to think of welcoming thoughts. Soft thoughts. Breathe in, breathe out.

She could do this.

Unaware of when she had wrapped her arms around herself, Dalini slowly let them fall to her sides, taking a step behind Rahmsii (and his own issues dealing with the angry baby’s feelings), and focused on happy thoughts.

...
Oh, but the little Blue Moon green looked so utterly distressed. All would be well, wouldn’t it? She was the trendsetter, after all.

Zelaya - HR - She/Her/They/Them
Oh... well, look at that. Lisa Frank hatched into a gorgeous bronze, and Zelaya smiled despite the budding chaos, and the fact that his being bronze meant he was surely not for her. Best of the batch, just like he said. No wonder, he's lovely. She let herself mentally lavish him with the praise he'd clearly sought before, before turning back to more (almost literally) pressing matters. The rampaging brown came charging by, teeth snapping, and she shifted from Lojze's side seamlessly to get out of his way. He clearly was more than upset, and while she pained to see a friend hurt, they all knew the risk. As another bronze dove in to grapple with the brown, she continued to only move far enough away to be out of reach and out of the way, her placid, intently calm expression betraying nothing of her rising heart rate. She would be calm, and they would all be fine. This happened sometimes... they just needed to find theirs. That's all. Right?

I don't want your help! the Blue Moon green declared, lashing her tail angrily. Oh ho! So her sister wanted to apologize now? No! I can do it by myself! And... wouldn't others just turn their gaze onto her sister if she let Sunshine green assist her? No, that wouldn't do at all.

Ah, Star. Couldn't you have predicted this turn of events when you decided to suddenly strike our brother in such an unseemly fashion? the Lisa Frank bronze told the absolutely insolent Star, who had decided once again that he knew best.

Ah, the naiveté of such a view. Wasn't he just ... the worst? But the Lisa Frank bronze was above such a petty creature, who couldn't see past the end of his snout. Moving forward at last to survey the Candidates, the dragonet decided it was time to meet a few.

Haveli

It would be a lie to say she couldn't feel the waves of anger coming off the brown dragonet, but Haveli worked to temper it down. Hadn't her own anger and bitter words gotten her in enough trouble over the turns? Of course she wasn't as heavy handed as this fight was, but she could understand. She could understand entirely others thinking they knew best, but she worked to tamper it down again. Anger on the sands would only bring trouble, and with Finn already on her sleeve in case they needed to move she couldn't afford to bring it over.

Besides, there were plenty of blues and greens on the sand that required her attention more. She wanted them to have it, even if their antics weren't as vibrant at the moment. All dragons deserved that attention and Haveli wanted a positive return.

The Eggplant Blue had, in fact, taken the time to slip around the fight to get close enough to the Candidates, and now stood proudly before them. With his chin raised, he scanned the crowd, trying to see if he could find anyone special--he had an excellent idea, however, and it was about time to test his theory.

Well. Nasty business aside, why don't you all come a little closer so I can meet you properly, hmm? Wouldn't that be just lovely? He addressed all Candidates, his mindvoice practically oozing confidence. Come on, come on. Let's see all of your faces, now.

No matter how much of his ichor stained the Sands, Star refused to back down from his position - he had taken it, and he would defend it, defend the Candidates, until his last breath if he had to. He had once caught thoughts, whether it had been from Mother or a visiting Aunt or Uncle, of a beautiful sister-and-cousin who had barely had a chance to be, because someone with power had been careless with it.

He would not misuse his, nor stand by while his brother misused his own strength.

As for Lisa Frank's opinion, he barely heard it, and even if he had had the time, had nothing to say to such an overreach by that particular brother.

Of course his brother would ignore him...

Snarling loudly, his anger and frustration growing all the while, the large brown was determined to tear his brother apart. He could have well found His--he knew they were there--but instead he was being bullied by his brother. He had had everything in in hand. He had snapped at a few for not bothering to get out of the way, but he hadn't tried to kill and he hadn't mowed them down.

All he'd wanted was space, room to breathe, room to find the one he needed above all else.

And now?

He was here... so full of anger and rage that he could hardly think. His bronze brother had made an enemy this day--and one he would not, and would never, forgive. He had gotten in the way of his finding His...

And that was unforgiveable.

Already, they were looking away.... Looking at those who were not worthy. Looking at those who would not give them what they needed. And what could he do about it? He would not yield. He would not give in. He would rather bleed out than yield in battle, and until his bronze brother gave up, he would continue to fight.

He snapped, tore, kicked, thrashed, and used every power he had to rip up the metallic hide of his brother. If he should die... He would at least like to let His know that they were His.

You are perfect just as you are, inside and out. Wholly. No matter what they say, no matter how they try to mold you, to change you. Don't tamp down on that anger--release it. Give it to me, for your Sathanaseth can take it. I might not be what you want, what you need... But you are, and will always be Mine, Haveli. Now watch me kick his a**--or die trying.

And if Haveli did not want him, for he was certainly not a green, and clearly not a gold... Then he would throw himself Between. For there was no life worth living, if Haveli was not in it.

The brown will keep fighting unless Haveli interferes -- he will not let her get hurt, but a word from her will silence his rage. For now. If she does not want him, or rejects him-- let me know!

Candidate Nalacko - HR, she/her
There was so much ichor on the sands that she was worried. The bronze and brown were doing a full knock down drag out fight right there. And poor Blue Moon green was having a hard time too. Nala glanced towards the parents. She didn’t think they’d step in, but it didn’t hurt to hope.

She shuffled her feet as Eggplant Blue seemed to appear nearby. Nala glanced at the other candidates around her as he requested the candidates step forward. Well maybe a little wouldn’t hurt? Nala nudged just a couple steps closer to the polite blue. Hello.

See? That was what happened when one made assumptions. The Lisa Frank bronze sat calmly on the Sands... and began to clean his claws, each movement delicate and precise. Ah yes. All was, once again, as it should be. There was no doubt that he was rooting for Sathanaseth.

Happy Ghost Egg could no longer take it. It rolled from it's wallow as the baby within it made a pointed push to free herself from within it. There was no fumbling or getting stuck from the little green who stepped from the shell, stretching her wings before tucking them neatly.

Whatever feelings the fighting had stirred up, this green had some opinions about them all and purposely strode towards the candidates like she had a mission.
