hmm...methinks "x" stands for hug and "o" stand for kiss, if I recall correctly.

No. You see "x" stands for kiss because that back before everyone could write people still had to sign stuff. Since the couldn't write they couldn't sign it so instead they would put an "X" and kiss the paper to show they were sincere. 3nodding But I haven't heard anything about the "o"...
