"She's a smart kid, I'm sure it will." Adrian commented as he picked his guitar back up. "That's right, only five more years until you can't help her with her homework anymore." he noted with a chuckle.

"Yep. After that it's your job, and then a tutor when we hit your limit." Amaya said, sticking her tongue out at him. She was paler than usual and she looked a little tired as she talked to Adrian. "Well I'm gonna go help the kid wonder with her homework then get her fed so her grandparents don't have to deal with all that, because frankly I don't trust they'll feed her anything besides sugar." She muttered, heading out of the room now.

"I always thought that was what grandparents did; give you a bunch presents and candy." Adrian joked as he strummed a chord.
((I realize that I am not the most mature people in the world. I watch weird anime that was likely influenced by drugs and I think 'pants' is one of the funniest words ever. But when I'm watching a documentary on evolution and sex for class and they play sexophone music while animals are humping each other, I am going to laugh.))

"If your grandparents are Damien's parents, then yes." Amaya sighed before she disappeared into the hallway. By seven, Damien's parents came over, ready to watch Calista, while Amaya welcomed them at the door in black heels and a tight, black bandage dress.
"You look so pretty mommy! Are you going on tv again tonight?" Calista asked with a big smile.
"Yes, and you'll be in bed by then. If you want to see me on tv, maybe you can ask your grandparents very nicely to record the show for you." Amaya told her, putting her earrings in.

"First time I've had to get dressed up since the mutation. Good thing Marco was nice enough to get me a suit jacket too." Adrian said trying to groom his wings a bit. Underneath the jacket he had a deep red dress shirt.
((It's just as I said. I'm taking an anthropology class that focuses on evolution. We were watching a documentary on sex and how it relates to evolution. The thing played love making music while a variety of animals were going at it. XD ))

"Ditto." Amaya muttered before she looked at her dress compared to her right arm. "Crap. I knew there was a reason I stopped wearing so much black." She said, trying to determine if her arm could be seen against her dress or if it just blended in. Damn Marco for making her care about color coordination...

"Smart idea." Amaya said, looking over to Adrian with a smile before going back to the bedroom. She came back out with a silver, diamond bracelet on her wrist, forcing the spikes down on her arm so it was only clawed at the end like it usually was. "Better?" She asked, holding her arms out and doing a small twirl for everyone.
"I like it mommy!" Calista said with a smile, nodding along with her grandparents.

"Alright, then let's head out." Amaya said with a smile, grabbing her purse before she turned to Calista and her grandparents. "Calista, you be in bed by 9. And we'll be back sometime around one or two probably, so if you guys get tired, give me a call and I can have the shadows watch her until we get back and you can go home." She told them before grabbing her jacket and heading out the door with Adrian.

Amaya smiled nervously, at the mention of the few chances they'd have, rubbing her arm as she now looked ahead of her. "Yeah...but at least we're out now. You're the only person I want to be with right now." She said with a light smile, trying to set her worries aside.
