Roll: 7 - If a Wingleader, you were so focused on chewing out one of your wingriders who pulled a stupid move, that you actually miss catching a large clump of Thread that's falling right past you. A nearby wingmate winds up taking the hit -- as they were busy flaming a different clump of Thread and hadn't time to notice. Quote a Single Wingmate and have them lose -5 HP! The rider responsible for those stone bags dropped had been flagged down—one of the (NPC) greens that had joined the fray, and V'mel was taking a moment to...talk...to them about proper technique. Obviously accidents happened in the field of battle, but two sacks back to back? If nothing else, he'd hoped a firm word would get them back on task.
Of course, as he was talking to them about accidents, another happened. Too late Aviroth cried out, after a clump of thread had already smacked right into poor Nadry and Menankith.

Roll: 11 - Oh crap. Your dragon sees a sliver of Thread and hastily flies to catch it. Unfortunately, their aim is off, and you watch in despair as the silver tangles drifts past, only to tangle with your dragons outstretched wing. Fardles. Overeager to charge into a fight when they saw one, Peresa and Shoggoth ducked after a stray strand. A strong gust of wind from behind pushed them through the air faster than planned though, and they overshot, trying to turn and leaving the green in the position to actually smack the clump with her wing. She screeched at the pain and winked between to shed the strands.

With his sister reassured, Menankith felt immensely better, and would have sworn he didn't even feel the sting of the burn anymore! In fact, he felt fantastic! Full of renewed confidence, he belched flame at a clump of Thread, and was filled with satisfaction as it fell to ash.
A sudden burning pain settling on and tangling around his wing caused a bellow of surprise and pain, even as Aviroth cried out. Where had that come from?! Creeling, he disappeared from sight.

A Large gust of wind seemed to come out of nowhere. As Ephia was eyeing up a large chunk of thread she heard Ariath give warning before the two were blown off course and, unfortunately, right into the chunk they were intending to flame. Both dragon and rider felt the burn of the thread before Ariath zipped between and back again.

They came out from between and as if the wind wasn't quite done with them the two were blown off course again. Wings pumping Ariath was growing more exhausted as she fought her way back into formation.
To add to her worries, Ipotenth relayed his rider's condition which Ariath informed Ephia about. Mine, Ash'il is back at the Weyr. He and Ipotenth have been grounded. Ash'il could use a visitor later.
If Ipotenth is alright enough to relay that then Ash'il must not be too bad off. It still didn't stop the worry from bubbling up in the queenriders stomach.
Mine will visit yours, and I you. The fondness was relayed from the queen to the bronze despite the weariness that was growing.

Again the winds buffeted the duo but this time Ariath was ready. Though they were blown a bit off course she was able to recover swiftly and the two rejoined their wing.

A small chunk of thread caught the gold's wing tip. A brief flash between and the two were back where they were and continuing their fight of threadfall with little hinderrance.

Ephia swung in her seat as Ariath honed in on a clump of thread that slipped through the wings above. Flamethrower at the ready, Ephia flamed the clump from the sky sending it to the ground as harmless ash.

The scream of her dragon was barely registered over the burning sensation across her back and shoulder. Ariath slipped between and back out. The chunk of silvery thread that took advantage of Ephia's moment of relaxation was frozen and crumbled.
The rider swung in her seat. The burning pain in her shoulder was not pleasant but she needed to check on Ariath. The burn of the clump of thread was obvious upon the golden hide.
Are you alright, Dearheart? Should we get that checked? Worry for Ariath took precedence over her own wound.
I am fine. We can keep going.
Ephia worried though and contemplated them heading back for some medical attention anyway. Though, she was well aware how stubborn her gold could be about such things.

I'llian and Xith blinked Between to join the fray -- only to emerge smack in the middle of a huge sheet of Thread! Xith bellowed in pain as the silver strands skimmed his skin; I'llian felt his dragon's pain and yelped in sympathy. They jumped back to the frigid blackness of Between to kill any Thread that might have managed to burrow. Not a great way to start a 'Fall!
Round 3: 1: Blasted all! As you jump Between to avoid a clump of Thread, the winds change, and when you appear from the icey depths, it's right into a major sheet of Thread! Heavy Damage: -8 HP! They also now suffer a Painful status for the next 3 turns. This will negate any XP gained, and cause double damage if the prompt includes damage (or has you roll for damage).
