Speckled Aquamarine brown had all but passed his brother Lumos when he skidded to a halt. Suddenly, he felt it. That spark from before, from when he'd felt her. She was the one! The very one for him. His dearest of hearts, and the most darling woman in all of the world. The one who was strong, yet good. He could go on and on, but he only needed to do one thing.

Closing the distance between them, Speckled Aquamarine softly touched his nose to Andrestia's hand, peering up at her. My dear girl, I have waited so long for you. Did you ever think that anyone but your Eith could truly be your heart's match? For there was no one who existed in that moment but her. No one at all.

Eyes whirling with rainbows, the dragonet gave a soft croon, and nudged her hand again, seeking scritches. Surely she would oblige him? A kindhearted girl like Andrestia!

Solameya | She/Her | HR

Things seemed to have both calmed down and gotten more busy. There had been many impressions, many hidden eggs hatching, babies roaming around. A second gold had hatched, twin bronzes, and plenty of others were roaming amongst the candidates and interacting with each other. The little gold was standing up to a bullying bronze. Good. And Expecto Patronum was play fighting with his father in grand fashion. Lumos, You Can Fly found theirs. A baby required some extra assistance and, thankfully with maternal permission this time around, the brown was helped out. Playtime for EP appeared to be over.

However, it was still too early to relax just yet. Until every one has found theirs, Solameya wanted to be ready to act. Sure, maybe after a spot of breakfast she could catch a nap or load up on klah. Ah! The previously trapped brown quickly found his, a girl. That was tidy.

Siv

Oh they got it. Well then. Sv shrugged, turning back to her spot... and that she'd messed upo her own notes. SIGH. Patiently, she walked back and knelt, beginning again. Right, notes.

Halvor

She got it. Halvor thought, slightly awed as he turned his attention the candidate beside him. His facial expression never shifted from the scowl, but his eyes seemed to spark. "Maybe," his tone almost indicated he disagreed. His jaw clenched. "The small one needs to learn his own strength too." He managed to grind out.

No matter how hard he tried to get the attention of the bronze twins, to meet them--especially the small bronze--nothing worked. Halvor didn't know how this whole thing worked. He also knew when to pull his punches--so to speak. Halvor instead shifted his gaze to the playing blue. If he were able to be more open about his feelings he would have readily admitted that the baby dragon playing with its father was adorable. And it also sent a pang of longing he buried deep down after years of realizing that a family wasn't ever going to come out of the woodwork to get him back from the mob boss.

His one hope was in this new life he found himself in. He'd be a complete fool if he said he wasn't hopeful that he'd impress today. However, he also wasn't going to deny that his chances were slim. He was in High Reaches trying to impress on a dragonets. High Reaches! People like him were far, far beneath this place. No--he wasn't. But sometimes those thoughts barreled through his mind anyways. He'd worked hard every day of his life to get by. Halvor finally had the one opportunity he'd never had before--a chance at a life. If he was honest, he didn't think there was a dragon out there for him. He'd wanted to get up close and personal with a dragonet--a first for him to see one--and the closest he'd come was to get torn up by the Crucio green as she'd barreled through the candidates in her rage.

Halvor looked at Tarnaria's leg. It didn't look like it would be good healing process. His gray eyes once more shifted to the sands. "I didn't know it'd be like this. Or what to expect." He rumbled.

Zamistia and Nanuth

Zamistia's eyes turned back to the healing area, seeing Riz being taken care of another. Her sister was still talking to others, maybe she could encourage her to try and be friends with them. She felt Nanuth's agreement with the suggestion, even if she knew he only liked friends if they were the right ones. Maybe, that was something the pair could work on together, her not being so scared to make friends and he not wanting his solitary from most people. She ran her free hand over his head, glad that he was so sweet to her and her loved ones, at least.

Of course I am, Mine, the brown spoke, puffing out his chest a little. Then he worked on eating some more of his meat, still sending images to the others, but a little slower. He didn't want to overwhelm Tizzy or Riz with too much, specially when they were dealing with enough as is. His eyes that had been red at one of his bronze brothers became a gentle blue when his sister made her way over with her own rider.

She has nothing to fear over here, your's is good, sister. And I have no doubt you will protect your's..as I will mine,Nanuth assured, gently booping her back.

Oh, that is one of your...siblings who had said such...nice things to me,she thought to her brown. She felt a surge of acknowledgment, oh of course he had known. It was still something to get used to having another in her mind who knew everything about her.

"Hello Amila, it...is nice to...meet you too. My name is Zamistia. This is my...dragon Nanuth,"she greeted the other girl. Nanuth would look to the sands from time to time, just so his rider would know what was going on.

Demanthra and Monath

While Demanthra was busy calming Rhiyn, Monath was making sure everything stayed calm on the sands. All the family moments made her think of her own, deciding she would touch base with them. She wasn't sure if all of them were here, but she had caught sight of a few of her own clutchsiblings.

Siblings, I figured I would see how you all are. This hatching has been quite an interesting batch, definitely more than we had last turn,

Ticene and Green Metlath

Metlath gave a delighted hwonk as Faloth joined her in her laps. Faloth! The green called excitedly, but she didn't even contemplate slowing her pace. A series of hwonks followed as she trumpeted her enjoyment. When Aviforth joined the ranks Metlath couldn't contain herself, trumpeting once more. How long can the two of you keep up though? The playful challenge was clear in her tone. It was obvious to her that she would be faster than them, but would she also outlast them. Metlath couldn't deny she felt like she could run forever.

Ticene smiled in response to W'ill. "There doesn't seem to be any stopping her." The weyrling didn't feel any shame in it. To her Metlath and her boundless energy were perfect, so why would she think there was anything wrong with the green tearing around the sands? "Ticene." She answers Cavera. It was a strange thought that she would be in close contact with these people now for as long as they were weyrlings. Maybe even longer if they ended up in the same wings. In the space of the day they had become tied together. Bonded by their dragons. And they didn't even know each others' names. Seeing W'ill and Faloth yawn, Ticene looked over at Metlath. The green didn't seem even close to being tired.

Faloth stopped and Metlath gave a questioning hwonk. Cousin Faloth, you can't stop now! The disappointment was obvious in her voice, but as she watched the brown look up at his rider she gave a defeated huff. At least she still had Aviforth. Reaching out she shared her excitement with the blue. You can be referee, Alegriath! She called out happily to the white. That so few joined her bothered her for a moment, but Ticene was soon there. Quick to provide the information that hatching could be very tiring. Her siblings and cousins were probably very tired. Not everyone had her energy levels.

More family appeared and Metlath made no effort to hide her happiness. Valseth Metlath was not really as poetic as the young bronze, but the whirling of her eyes spoke volumes. The raced passed the bronze with a happy trumpet. Come join us! Another green joined and Metlath was thrilled at the idea of some fresh competition. Rosmeth would surely give her a challenge. Rosmeth, you too! We can show these boys just how fast we are! Wait, there was Leoniath. He would surely take her up on her game, right? Trumpeting happily the green reached out to her brother. Leoniath! Brother! Come and race with us!

Ticene watched as Metlath ran, seemingly deciding that she didn't need to return for food at all. The young woman was happy for the green to take the lead. Once the excitement of everyone arriving wore off she was sure the green would be convinced to eat her fill and be oiled. The idea of her taking a nap wasn't something she was confident in, but she was happy to be surprised. It was nice, watching Metlath call out to the other dragons without any nervousness. She couldn't say she had the same confidence. Still she offered a smile to the other weyrlings whenever eye contact was made. There were so many of them. How had she managed to be a candidate here so long and yet know so few of the newly impressed?

Kinyegele

There he went. Off to find what she could only imagine was a sweet, charming, wonderful girl to be his one and only. Kinye almost chose to sit in the sand where she'd lifted the egg up, before looking at the other babies still roaming and deciding it was perhaps better if she didn't...push her luck. The brown had been nice, but there was no guaranteeing these others would tolerate her so close when they didn't have theirs yet.

With a bow to Rhianth, the girl wasted no time distancing herself with the other candidates again. But in her heart, she was still right there in that moment of greeting a new dragon as he stepped into the world, her feelings all abuzz with glee.

Zyanzi

He had been so distracted watching the eggs and the newly hatched that his thoughts had not encompassed the growing population of dragons that slipped among the white robed candidates. Many still remained, even as some gained rainbow eyes and ran to their perfect companion. Zyanzi's heart was a mixture of weighted hope and glee and he smiled, the look on his face unmistakably mimicking a proud mother, even if most of the candidates were still mostly strangers to him. He was proud that he could be here to witness this auspicious moment and it took everything in him not to grab a nearby candidate's arm in his excitement. Instead, he held his injured, bandaged arm to his chest and let out a long breath. "This is so wonderful. So beautiful." He whispered, smile not fading in the slightest.

When the playful blue dragon carrying the sandal bounced over to them, for a second Helane hoped for him to be for her, when he pounced on Jeri, Helane couldn't bear it anymore "OH MY GOODNESS JERI AAAAAH THAT'S SO AWESOME, CONGRAAAAAATS!!! OMG HE'S GORGEOUS" she screeched, "AUKSARATH, YOU'RE LOVELY!" she said loudly to the blue, "GO, GO FEED HIM, WE'LL SEE YOU SOON I'M SURE!" she couldn't stay quiet, she was so excited, she was even crying happy tears for Jeri, she believed they could ALL impress, she was confident she and Fahn would join Jeri at the feeding tables soon, she was sure.

late night phone post, please forgive any mistakes! Ruunan tries to work on his confidence a little in the aftermath of the gold-bronze confrontation. <3

Ruunan - 16 - HR - he/him/his

When there's a will, there's a way. The thought bubbled up, unbidden, to the forefront of his mind. Ruunan watched with vast amounts of unspoken appreciation and the beautiful queenling exerted her authority and strength- a power that came from her heart.

Both gold dragons had touched him personally, in one way or another. Fond as he had been of Hufflepuff's gentleness and soothing ways within the shell, Ruunan remembered the disappointment and pain that she would never be his… and now, Remember Me had come to the defence of her younger sibling. It was hard not to be affected by the actions of these dragonets- for better or worse.

He took a tiny step back, away from the bronzes as the stare-down came to an end. The young boy’s attention drifted once more to Baby Mine, and he quelled the fear and self-doubt that leapt up once more. If the hatchling decided to look his way, he wanted its first real impression of him to be a good one. Not one of a snivelling child- fearful as he might have been- but of a young man willing to do whatever it took. He tried squaring his shoulders and straightening a little, and found himself glancing at Nyaranau.

She made confidence look so easy. Why couldn't he be more like her?

Akaris and Samodith
Akaris was certainly not thrilled about reaching into a bucket of meat and handling chunks of it, but she had learned to do quite a lot of things she didn't like over the last turn, and for Samodith, she would do anything. Even if it felt just awful, and even if the green would be all too happy to just poach Andelath's breakfast. "A nap has never sounded so wonderful as it does now," she said with a longing sigh. It had been a very early, very long morning. "Once they're fed and scrubbed, that will be perfect."

Oh, they were not a bother at all, Samodith chuckled graciously. They are rather endearing, in their own way. And so delightfully easy to set against each other - why, she hadn't even tried! Or truly meant to cause a disagreement between them for that matter...no, they had done that all on their own, and it had been delightful. They were just such easy touches.

Speaking of which... Leoniath! There you are! Her eyes spun blue-green with a fetching hint of purple, and she trilled at her brown clutchmate, now that he had finally Impressed. What a magnificent rider you have found! Would you be a dear and apologize to him for me, for delaying you? It was ever so kind of you to help me.

Meztli
Another handsome brown...who wasted very little time in impressing. Well, that was good. Meztli honestly could do with some quicker action at this point. How long'd they been stood on their burning feet now? They shifted foot to foot again, looking on...or at, really, their focus wasn't entirely there at the confrontation between the metallics. And what about...yup, the blue riding his father was still up there. The other blue had been 'in battle' with the brown father, and was now strutting about with him, imperious as you like. The one blue that'd come from an egg he'd touched (it'd seemed...almost friendly, if a bit impatient with him) was still around somewhere...ah. There. Not to mention the little green and that first bronze that'd been on the sands for how long now? That couldn't be usual. They'd best find their match sooner than later.

"I don't know how they can stand to put it off," they commented blithely to anyone around. "Aren't they hungry? Sleepy? Lonely?" Meztli sure was. Well, not lonely, not really. But hungry and sleepy, sure! If they'd been born a dragon, they'd have impressed right off to get it done and get to the good bit!

Nonami - Western Candidate

The antics of Kronoseth and the little Expecto Patronum had caught Nonami’s attention as the little gold had wandered away from them and their sister. It was.. adorable, and the little teenager can’t help but smile some at the playfulness to it. So brave, vanquishing the big “evil” dragon that they can’t help but giggle some. So sweet.. They smile as the pair cuddle, turning to look at some of the other eggs. Oh, Baby Mine was beginning to shake more. Would they make their way out soon?

Sylfie
"Ah, my mistake," Sylfie said with a tiny smile. She still didn't see the same affection that Theo did in the gesture, but why insist otherwise? He was having a grand time, and there was no reason to correct him...and even if there had been, it just wasn't in her to push at such things. The babies would do whatever the babies pleased, more or less, regardless of what anyone in the Stands thought about what they were doing or why.

She returned to nibbling at her pastry and quietly watching the proceedings.

Juhvek

How long have some of them been waiting?

Some of those candidates - and those who were walking off the sands now as a Weyrling - had waited far longer and dreamed just as long of a dragon companion than Juhvek had. He'd barely stuck around to see Alosha impress Phaedrath before other things had pulled at him. Certainly, duty still pulled at him. He could serve Pern this way, and it certainly would have made Alosha feel safer to know exactly where he was - and being close to his only family was comforting in it's own way.

He watched as the petite blonde girl went to assist the brown from his egg, and the flurry of dragons that were now approaching candidates in what was almost an eager attempt to find theirs now.

They must be hungry, he thought to himself. It was likely easier for the fuss and fighting when hunger wasn't as powerful, but also less and less candidates were on the sands now and maybe that made it easier to spot the right one.
