Torin
He continued to toy with his sleep-tousled locks as he gave some of the other dragons a once over, glancing back at the blue on the much larger blue's head at regular intervals. The eggs that hadn't moved at all drew his particular attention, leaving him wondering if they ever would. Torin sent them an encouraging thought or two, attempting to hurry them along without being mean about it. Standing around and playing nice was starting to get a little tiresome, even for him.
Rykin
He was a bit shocked when the gold came to Ruunan's defense, mostly because he had no idea what the little bronze had actually been so agitated about. Still, their behavior wasn't outside the realm of sibling rivalry for him, especially coming from sibs that had been stuck in the same space for months. Rykin watched bronze and gold touch noses with a small smile on his face, chuckling faintly at the disgust practically radiating from the rowdier dragonet.
She really was quite something. He wasn't familiar with many of the candidates here, but he was curious to see who impressed the little queen.
Korbet
Korbet watched the proceedings with unfeigned interest now, Meddle having taken over duty as his lap-flit at some point. That gold was a production of her own, compelling and kind all at once. He wasn't one for writing about dragons, but maybe he'd make an exception for this one.

twins oz & glinda
"See, now we've been out for so long, even the babies are getting cranky," Oz said through a yawn. The bigger bronze twin looked in need of some cheering, shaff.
Glinda, for her part, continued to sit up, every inch the lady; the urge to yawn was infectious, however. "It's part of saying yes to this," she said, adding with brows slightly raised, "Are you racing to be a rider now, Oz?"
"Hardly. Unless one've those kids down there can make me a nice deal."
No, it was clear, and she knew it from the look in his eyes especially, that Oz was looking forward to the feast afterwards. That was where the real meat of entertainment lay to him, when the sands mystery of who went to whom was finished. He had no aspirations either way when it came to his candidacy, but as a merchant heir? Oh, the things he could inveigle from these sparkle-eyed weyrlings if he tried...
Glinda sighed through her nose and rolled her head around to relieve the stiffness in her neck. As she did so, a bush of hair caught her eye, and she watched the man curiously before the familiarity was finally given a name. "Pardon," she asked as she adjusted her wide-brimmed hat. "Are you in a troupe? I feel I've seen you in a play recently..."
Making conversation with anyone was better than having to keep listening to her twin.

Jeri and Blue Auksarath Upon entering the chamber where the other Weyrlings were feeding and oiling their dragonets, Jeri waved, the huge grin on her face still in place. "Hi everybody, look who finally made it! Jeri's here at last!!" she crowed (quietly, so as not to awaken the Weyrlings napping on the couches with their babies). "Woooooowee, so this is what this place looks like! So plush and inviting!"
She set Auksarath on the ground with a kiss on his head between his knobs, and the playful little blue immediately took off in a run, joining Metlath and Aviforth in their mad laps around the feeding table. "Wait, Aukie, I'm supposed to feed you!" Jeri said with some concern. "Aren't you hungry?"
I'll eat when I'm done playing! Auksarath gave a tiny trumpet as he ran to keep up with the other hatchlings, his bubbly laughter echoing in Jeri's head.
Jeri sat down at the table and shrugged. "Boy's got his priorities."

Things were finally starting to settle down in terms of numbers at least. Shar could keep an eye on the dragons that had hatched as well the eggs that were still waiting to crack open. As she stood there, though, the hold on Nala's shoulder slowly grew tighter and tighter as the pain in her leg became harder and harder to ignore. The makeshift tourniquet could only do so much to stop the bleeding and it did nothing for the pain, after all.
She was so focused on staying upright that she didn't hear the healer approach, not recognizing his presence until she felt two broad hands touch her arms to pull her from Nala. She turned with a snarl and her hand raised, ready to swat the man away, but before she could she was hoisted into the air over his shoulder and carried away.
"Stay out there, you've got this!" she called to Nala from her position over the healer's shoulder, struggling not to kick or punch his back despite wanting to desperately. She could stay out there a bit longer, if only so Nala wasn't alone, but once she found her butt on the ground she knew she wouldn't be able to stand without help or taking a long time.
Grumbling to herself, she glanced to her right to see who she had been set down beside and was both delighted and surprised to see Rizdax. Well...kind of see him. He was wrapped up in bandages so efficiently it was impossible to see any skin aside from his arm, but beyond that it was difficult to make him out due to being wrapped up in a hug by Nimueh, a wingsecond and mind healer from the Weyr both. She didn't know her personally but growing up here had given her a good grasp on those with higher standing than the average rider as well as those with any sort of healing talent. Shar glanced away a bit awkwardly, shifting in the sand, glad that he had someone to seek refuge with in that way. She knew she wasn't the best at doling out physical affection and that was what people needed sometimes, so she left them to it for a bit before speaking.
"It's just Nala left out there," she said to break the silence. "The dragons aren't nearly as hostile anymore so she'll be safe. There's another gold out there putting some a grumpy bronze in his place." The view from back here was awful, all legs and robes and a flash of colorful hide now and then. She would have little to no idea what was going on but she could at least update Riz on what had happened when she'd been pulled away.

Despite his head space at the moment and the fact that he could just barely hear past the bandages around the side of his head, especially with his right ear pressed over Nimueh's heart, Rizdax could almost feel Shar's indignation. So she'd been pulled off the sands too? He'd noticed that her back had been sliced into, but her leg had seemed much worse, maybe that was why the healer had brought her in.
It took them some time to patch her all up before she was beside him and speaking. Speaking like Riz was going to answer her. Even though only one was visible, the teen still rolled his eyes and turned to face her, pulling up from Nim's embrace so that he was just leaning on her and able to look Shar full in the face. Nala was safe then, but there was a gold on the sands, what a lousy time for a healer to find Shar and drag her in.
Unable to answer he quirked up an eyebrow and tilted his head back towards the sands, as if telling her she should be back out there rather than back here where they could see literally nothing but a sea of white. Nala was alone and if that weren't enough there was a golden queen? He'd have joined her if standing didn't make his head light... and he still had a robe. Naked under a towel was not the way to walk back onto the sands, add that to how dark he felt in that moment and it felt like a cloud that hung over him. Still so many dragons.
A haunted look passed behind his lone gold eye.

As she spoke, a different healer came over to crouch beside her, inspecting her leg first. Shar didn't bother to look, knowing that nothing she said or did would affect the woman's decision in any way, shape, or form. She'd just sit there and let her do what she was trained to do. Numbweed was applied first do the gash which Shar was grateful for as it let her focus on Rizdax instead.
The non-verbal reply made her tilt her head a bit, but she attributed it to the way his head was wrapped. His face had been gashed and bashed pretty good if she remembered correctly so it probably hurt a bit to talk. That was fine. His expression and the head tilt was more than clear enough.
"Trust me, I'd be out there if I could," she said with a huff, nodding with her own head down to the healer fussing over her leg. It looked as if the skin was too taunt to try to stitch it back up, so for now she was simply packing the wound and wrapping it. Maybe once it was patched up she could stand again, but for now she was bound to the seated position she had found herself in.
"If mine is out there they'll find me over here, just like yours will," she added, not at all concerned that she wasn't standing on the sands anymore for that reason. She knew that lots of Candidates here would have their hopes dashed if they didn't Impress today, but Shar had stood long enough to know that there was always next time. She had years, after all, and she wasn't going to rush the dragons.

Nyaranau [HR] - 19 - she/her/hers - App Beastcrafter
Nyara’s attention turned to the Aquamarine egg as it hatched, and she made to move forwards when it asked for help- an automatic step that occurred before she had even thought about her actions. Fortunately, another young woman was closer, and Nyan stepped back to watch the hatchling and the girl interact beneath the golden gaze of the Queens. Well, wasn’t that something… it didn’t have to all go awry, like it had for that poor unfortunate egg… the young beastcrafter glanced towards Poor Unfortunate Souls, hoping it was recovering well within the shell.
The battle of wills between gold and bronze siblings certainly drew her attention once more, and she her smile turned impish as she watched the bigger bronze nose-boop his younger sibling. “That’s the spirit…” She murmured softly, grinning as she watched the queenling chirrup in gladness. Nyara resisted the urge to flash the dragonet a thumbs-up. Still, the dragonet had courage and a fierce determination to set things to rights: Nyara could see a bright, shining example of a leader in the queen’s future.
There were still so many dragonets wandering and watching, and still a few eggs that hadn’t hatched. Nyara knew the hatching was drawing to a close- but still she held out hope that one might hide her partner within its hardened walls. Surely, in a clutch of sixty… surely...
Nyara didn’t allow her confidence to waver. Now was the time to show the last of her iron resolve in the face of failure: positive thoughts were accompanied by a brilliant smile.
Quote: Nyara admires all of the dragons, and gives herself a mental pep talk
