((THE LONGNESS!!!))
After an hour, the host moved his current guest off, looking to the camera once more. "Our next guest brought the issue of mutate fighting to light at the young age of nineteen when she bravely escaped the underground fighting ring run by Pariah Research, and now four years later she's written a book about her experience in the ring. Please welcome Amaya Kurokawa." The host said, clapping along with the audience as he turned to face the wing of the stage she was supposed to come out of.
Amaya walked out a moment later, smiling as she waved a little to the audience, then walked up to the host, who was now standing, exchanging a short, polite tv hug and air kiss before she took her seat, getting settled as the host went back to his seat.
"So wonderful to have you on our show, Amaya. You're harder to book than most of the celebrities in Hollywood." The host commented as he too got settled in his seat now. "So you were nineteen when you escaped the ring. Most kids that age are just starting college usually, but you were fighting for you life every night. What was that like?" He asked, leaning forward in his seat a little.
"It was terrifying. I ran away from home when I was 12, and I was caught and brought into the ring by the time I was fifteen. At first I liked fighting, I didn't see much wrong with it after living on the streets, but I was a mouthy young kid in the beginning and I got myself into a lot of trouble in the beginning." She answered, folding her hands in her lap as she sat back.
"And you had your daughter Calista around 16 or 17. So you had to grow up fast, didn't you?" He asked, furrowing his brow.
"Yes. As I wrote in my book though, for the first two years of her life, I only saw Calista for a few hours once a week. Carl Northman posed as her adoptive father until she developed her powers, then she came to live with me in the ring." She sighed, seeming perfectly calm. She was good at preforming for the camera now.
"There are a few pictures during that time where Mr. Northman is seen with Calista. Did you ever feel angry that no one questioned it?"
"Of course I felt angry. Because Carl Northman was rich and the heir to a multi-billion dollar company, no one questioned where his sudden, new adopted daughter came from. Even the fake documents he made up were questionable. I was angry the government never investigated Pariah Research when it was obvious people would never come out of the headquarters. There was a lot to be angry about." She told him as she took a breath.
"What helps you get through the days now? I know you spent several years in rehabilitation, but you still must have to cope with everything that happened in the ring. How do you cope?"
"Well, two months ago my boyfriend Adrian, and I finally found each other again." She said, smiling as she paused to let the audience clap and the camera move to get a shot of Adrian before turning back to the two on stage.
"Congratulations on that, he's certainly a handsome guy." The host interrupted, grinning ear to ear.
"Yeah, I got lucky. He helps me a lot with the coping. It's easier for the two of us to understand since we both went through the same thing together, and since he was owned by Carl Northman as well. But I feel better when I read letters from supporters and fans, to know people I've never even met care, helps. And it helps when I see my daughter is able to live the normal life I wanted her to live, even if we do have occasional problems with her powers." She answered with a light smile on her face.
"Well thank you so much for coming on to discuss your experience. You are one of the bravest people I've met and I could not put your book down. It brought me to tears several times. And I know we all wish you and Adrian the best. If you're interested in reading Amaya's book, it can be found at any local bookstore near you, or you can go online to our website to read an excerpt." The host said, turning to the camera for the last bit. Once they went to commercial break, Amaya headed back to the green room for the rest of the show, waiting out in the lobby for Adrian once it was over.

"I might need get these things bound down for your television appearances. I could hear a few angry mutters behind me about my wings blocking their view." Adrian said with a small smile as he came out to meet back up with Amaya. "No prodding or pulling though, so it's all good."

"Well, they'll get over it. Not like the episode is never going to play again. Besides, if they were smart, they would've recorded it. " Amaya said with a smile, placing a kiss on his cheek once he got to her. "Calista's grandparents called while I was in the green room. They got tired and went home, but Calista's been asleep the whole time. Still, we should probably head back. It's a little late." She yawned, looking at a nearby clock.

"Good idea." Adrian said holding his arm out for her once more. "Speaking of Calista, how are you going to tell her about the baby?"

Amaya sighed as she took his arm, just shaking her head a little. "I don't know. I may just sit her down and try to talk to her about it after school tomorrow. Just don't know if I want to deal with all the questions that are sure to follow. And you know, you're still going to be there too." She said as they got back out into the cool night air.

"I know. And it's either come right out and say it or wait until she asks about your baby bump later down the line." Adrian said.

"I'd rather just say it now. But like I said, after school so she doesn't go tell everyone at school. The entire world doesn't need to know yet." She muttered, laying her head on his shoulder. It was still too early for it to be public, and she wanted time with just the family knowing before it got out to absolutely everyone.

"Considering her lack of friends at school, I doubt she'd have many people to tell anyway." Adrian pointed out. "But it's up to you. You can tell whoever you want whenever you're ready." he said giving her a kiss on the head as he moved his arm around her shoulders.

"Yeah, but she'd just tell everyone anyway is the issue." Amaya sighed. "I will tomorrow. After I take the afternoon to think about how I want to word it." She told him as they reached the apartment. She opened the door and they walked in, locking it behind her. She snuck to their room, already taking off her shoes as she made her way down the hall. By the time she made it to their room, she had both shoes off and was unzipping her dress, letting that fall too before she went to hang it up and change into a silky cami and shorts.

"Mmmm, why does it always feel so good to change out of dress clothes, get into pjs, and flop into bed?" Adrian mused after doing just that, wearing a simple pair of baggy pants as he lay in bed hugging a pillow.

"Because you know you're about to sleep. And sleeping is awesome." Amaya said with a grin as she slipped into bed next to him, kissing his nose lightly as she giggled.

"Especially when you're going to sleep after midnight. Then yeah, sleep is very awesome." Adrian said with a yawn before returning the kiss on her cheek. "Good night."

"Night. Love you." Amaya yawned, cuddling close to him now as she fell asleep.
By morning, Amaya was up early, making Calista's breakfast and lunch, though the morning sickness already seemed to be hitting, the woman looking a little green as she just slowly worked through all the food for the seven year old.

"Are you sure you should be up this early?" Adrian said with a yawn as he came out while rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"Probably not, but someone's got to make her lunch." Amaya muttered putting a hand on her stomach as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, just trying to let the nausea pass.
Calista was sitting at the table, watching the tv from where she sat while she munched on her cereal, oblivious to her parents conversation.
