The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "At least you aren't alone this time." Aleera said comfortingly, then closed the door. She hated to do this, but she had to. Locking it, she sighed and walked away. "I'm so sorry Akila." She whispered, heading back to the room she shared with Clorogne. She sat at the vanity, brushing out her hair.
Zar croaked reassuringly, leaning against Akila's neck. He was invisible in the darkness, his black feathers blending in, but his presence could still be felt. Akila wasn't alone in the darkness this time. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila pet him as she leant against the wall, willing her tears to stop. She held up the crumb for Zar to eat, and curled her knees up to her chest.
Clorogne was slowly beginning to wake, grunting as he pulled himself up to sit straight.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Zar nibbled the crumble lightly. He continued to talk softly, so Akila had something other than silence to listen to.
Aleera glanced at Clorogne. "How are you feeling love?" She asked quietly. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila nodded, and ran her fingers over the bird's fathers.
"Rough." Clorogne looked up at Aleera, and ran a hand through his hair. He lifted the bandage from his shoulder and hissed at the redness. Infections were not uncommon in these times.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Zar spread his wings, letting her fingers move across all his feathers. He preened her hair in return, beak running through her hair gently.
Aleera rose, filling a basin with water and grabbing a cloth. "Here. Let me wash it. It'll help stop it from getting worse." She said, dipping the cloth in the water. Gently, she began to wash the wound. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Clorogne just nodded, removing the bandaging as he slumped forward a little, resting his elbows on his knees as he sat, "That damned slave." He growled. "And that damned rebel."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "I know love. They have no right to be doing what they're doing." Aleera cooed comfortingly. She washed the wound carefully before re-bandaging it. "What will you do now? Will you keep hunting the rebel or will you oversee the castle construction?" The tiger that should be....isn't....

Clorogne sighed, "What can I do? We need the people on our side." he hissed a little. "And we need to set up the hanging for the girl. We're going to say she was planning back ups for Robinne, alright?" Robinne being his brother's first name.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Very well. You know I'll do whatever you need." Aleera hugged him lightly, being careful not to hurt him. "Just say the word." The tiger that should be....isn't....

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera blushed slightly, and looked down. "Think nothing of it." She murmured. She pulled away and began gathering up clothes. "Here. We must dress for the day, whatever you decide to do with it." She handed him an outfit. The tiger that should be....isn't....

"Right." He nodded, undressing and inspecting the wounds. He was covered with welts from the beasts mouth, and his shoulder was still red and angry looking. "This isn't good." He dressed in the clothes she gave him, "Perhaps I'll only oversee today."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera gasped, seeing the rest of the wounds. "Oh dear! Oh you poor thing. Yes, no work for you today. I would hate for you to further hurt yourself." The tiger that should be....isn't....

"I hope the workers will not be angry I won't be accompanying them today." He sighed, "Let us be off, then. Breakfast is in order." He was hit by a thought, and touched her cheek, "How is your headache?"

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera nuzzled his hand lightly, smiling reassuringly. "It's gone. The tea did wonders, as did a good nights sleep." She told him easily. The tiger that should be....isn't....
