FLYING SECOND WAVE Mid-Altitude
Hold on, hold on -!!!! A sudden shriek of warning had A'ye bracing himself against the neck of his dragon as she attempted to jump out of the way from where they inteded to go. Thread had been falling in their path and Oyath started to jump Between in an effort to avoid it, hoping to find a clear spot for them to transfer to.
Unfortunately she mistimed, either due to the sudden stress of the jump or trying to think ahead, and A'ye felt himself scream and both he and his dragon took the brunt of Thread to their bodies. Another fast jump Between had most of it dying off, but they'd still feel the wounds
It hurt, A'ye could feel the pain in his link with Oyath, but he bit his lip as he tried to usher them on. Fall was barely half over, they had - they had to make it!
Round 3, Part 1:
roll 1: You're so focused on flaming Thread that you miss a clump of thread blows up on the wind -- beneath you! If a green, or blue, you manage to jump Between ahead of it. Thankfully, your smaller size means you're able to avoid getting harmed! [+1 Between Accuracy] roll 2: A larger clump of Thread falls down hard and fast. Thankfully, your dragon is on top of it, and manages to hit the target with a large belch of flame just as it passes. [+1 Target Accuracy] roll 3: Flaming down Thread, you find yourself getting blown right into the cloud of ash! It stings and burns, but you're pretty sure no Thread was alive in the cloud. [If a green, or blue take Moderate Damage -5HP but gain +2 Pain Resistance.] roll 4: As you're fighting Thread, you see your nearby wingmate in danger. You immediately blink between, falling out of formation, but hoping to save them! Roll a D4. - 2. Regardless of color, you appear close by, and flame the clump of thread successfully! [+1 Between Accuracy] roll 5: This is bad. Very bad. One of your wingmates appears out of Between flaming, but instead of catching a nearby target, they catch you instead. Your dragon roars in pain, blinking hastily Between! Just how bad is the damage? Roll a D4! - 1. It's bad. Very bad. In fact, coming back into the fray, your realize your dragon slips unconscious from the pain and falls from place! Post this to ensure a queen catches you! NEGATED VIA Orodreth! THANK YOU!!
Round 3, Part 2: roll 1: A patch falls down ahead. You dive down, flaming as you go, and both rider and dragon are pleased to watch it turn into harmless ash. This is how it gets done! roll 2: You appear from Between and find the space you were hoping would be clear now has a large sheet of Thread being guested towards it. You've only a moment to decide where to go, and both you and your dragon pick a spot and hop Between in an attempt to avoid Thread. Roll a D4 and take whatever damage or XP you're given! - 1: You critically fail! You either appear between directly in the clump of Thread and take Major Damage for -8 HP =or= you could wind up getting lost Between, and die, having not properly visualized where to jump. Death -- optional.
HURRICANE WING W'dre of Bronze Dormith HP:43/46 Status Effect: [Tongue Bitten Effect! Your dragon is distracted by pain. No XP will be earned for the next 3 rolls. Any successes will be nullified. Should you roll a prompt with the possibility of damage, take the max damage allotted for your size/color automatically but it will also end the Tongue Bitten Effect immediately.] 3/3 XP: (+6 to base) (+5 to distribute as I see fit) Target Accuracy: +6 [+3] Flame Length: +6 [+4] General Stamina: +9 General Agility: +6 [+1] Between Accuracy: +6 [+2] Pain Resilience: +7 Instinct: +6 [+2] Luck: +7 [+1]
[Low Altitude] [1/5]
Maybe if you chewed more slowly you'd bite your tongue less.
TRESPASSERS WING Ahlalei of Brown Kalikath HP: 41 Status Effect: None XP: Target Accuracy: +6 (+1 XP) Flame Length: +7 (+5 XP) General Stamina: +6 (+2 XP) General Agility: +7 Between Accuracy: +6 (+3 XP) Pain Resilience: +7 (+1 XP) Instinct: +7 (+1 XP) Luck: +7 (+2 XP)
It has been a long haul so far but they were closer to being done ever second. Ahlalei reached for some more firestone to give to Kalikath only to find her bag empty. Well, it had been a while, still she should have been paying more attention. She had Kalikath send out a call for another bag.
I Need Some Firestone!
Round 3, roll 6:You're low on firestone! If you've already replenished recently (within the last 5 posts) you may choose to skip this roll and just do a general post for no XP. OR you can keep it and blame it on a faulty bag, or some other excuse for being without stone. Call for one of the weyrlings to send you another sack of stone! [Flag down a weyrling! Post this code in your next post and see if a weyrling can get to you!
A weyrling can quote you and roll from the Weyrling Table to see what happens! If there are no PC weyrlings, feel free to play a semi-retired rider helping out and play out the scene or ping staff for an NPC assist!
SAVED
Round 3 roll 5: You check in on your dragon to ensure they're doing all right. Thankfully, your dragon responds that they're feeling fine. All that training and practicing is coming full circle, as your dragon isn't feeling particularly fatigued. If they are suffering from a Fatigue Effect, they get a burst of renewed energy and the status is removed. [+1 Stamina] If your dragon isn't suffering, you are allowed to quote a fellow wingmate (must be in your same wing) who is suffering the effect! Your dragon trumpets at them encouragingly, making them feel better, and giving them a renewed burst of energy and effort. Remove Fatigue Effect from one wingmate!
SAVED
Round 3, roll 1: By Faranth! You and your dragon pull off a pretty awesome move to catch some Thread that's fallen through. You're able to save one of your Wingmates! Quote one of your Wingmates who took damage this Round! This will remove damage and any possible negative effect from that roll!

Yikes! The buffeting winds caught at Bayeth and threatened to sweep him right into a tangle of Thread, but he twisted away just in time to keep from being scored. That was close!

Get back! Siloth called out to one of his wingmates, a strong sense of danger fueling him. Let that one go. Even as he spoke, he saw the thread come far too close for comfort to the dragon. But as luck would have it, he had given the warning in time. They were safe! Another dragon flamed the thread from the sky, and he let out a jubilant bugle.
TSUNAMI WING M'nr of Bronze Cordrath HP: 24/46 Status Effect: Painful status for the next 3 turns. This will negate any XP gained, and cause double damage if the prompt includes damage (or has you roll for damage). 3/3 Target Accuracy: +2 [+1] Flame Length: +2 [+3 ] General Stamina: +3 [+1] General Agility: +2 [+2] Between Accuracy: +2 [+2] Pain Resilience: +4 [+1] Instinct: +4 Luck: +2 [+1]
[High Altitude] [1/5]
The two lept to avoid a wall of thread, only for the winds to change in the three seconds they were between. Cordrath fell right into the path of the falling menace and then was between again - but only for a moment.
TORNADO WING Thella of Brown Lireloth HP: 30/38 Status Effect: N/A XP: Target Accuracy: 6 (+3) Flame Length: 6 General Stamina: 10 (+3) General Agility: 6 Between Accuracy: 6 Pain Resilience: 6 Instinct: 7 (+2) Luck: 6 (+2)
Lireloth and Thella were hanging tough as time passed, Flaming and dodging and jumping Between to rid themselves of any Thread that made it to them. Passion and pride still surged in their hearts and Lireloth let out a trill to those around him, hoping to give them a boost of encouragement as well. They could do this!
Hurricane Wing Lilah of blue Bayeth HP: 21/26 Status Effect: N/A XP: Target Accuracy: 6 Flame Length: 6 General Stamina: 7 General Agility: 6 Between Accuracy: 6 Pain Resilience: 6 Instinct: 10 Luck: 6
Bayeth fought his way back into formation, and not a moment too soon! It put him into just the right place at just the right time to flame down a clump of Thread that threatened one of his wingmates.

TRESPASSERS WING R'nar of bronze Aveth HP: 36/45 Status Effect: n/a XP: (+6 to base stats) (+5 to distribute as I see fit) Target Accuracy: +6 (+1) Flame Length: +7 (+2) General Stamina: +7 (+1) General Agility: +6 Between Accuracy: +6 Pain Resilience: +8 Instinct: +7 (+1) Luck: +6 (+1)
Low Altitude
The wind was wicked at this lower altitude. A strong gust caught Aveth broadside and, unable to move fast enough to get out of the way, blew him and R'nar directly into a silver strand of Thread. It caught the bronzerider in the shoulder, and he howled in pain. Aveth immediately jumped Between to freeze it. Mine! I'm sorry, I couldn't evade it.
I've had worse, R'nar reassured his dragon, his shoulder still stinging. We both have, haven't we?
Round 3: 7: A strong gust of wind suddenly pushes you off course and right into a sliver of Thread! If you're a bronze or brown, you or your dragon take a scathing hit, unable to get out of the way. [Minor Damage -3 HP]
TRESPASSERS WING Alosha of Green Phaedrath HP: 21 Status Effect: -- XP: (+6 to base) (+5 to divvy as I see fit) Target Accuracy: +8 [+5] Flame Length: +6 General Stamina: +6 [+1] General Agility: +6 Between Accuracy: +7 Pain Resilience: +6 Instinct: +7 [+2] Luck: +6
[Low Altitude] [2/5]
Relying on Phaedrath's instincts had always served the pair well. With a roll, the green flamed down a patch of thread she'd been in the path of previously with no concern as to her sudden actions from her bonded. Alosha simply knew her green too well to be startled.
HARBINGERS WING Dr'stan of Bronze Ddraigth HP: 33-8=25 Status Effect: XP: (Base Stat: +6 to all; +5 to everything else) Target Accuracy: 6 (+1) Flame Length: 6 General Stamina: 7 General Agility: 7 (+1) Between Accuracy: 6 (+1) Pain Resilience: 7 (+1)(+1) Instinct: 7 Luck: 7
Dr'stan listened to Siloth speak to them, as Ddraigth relayed the words. The man was looking over at his wingleader, worry causing creases as he watched him. A hiss of pain from Ddraigth got his attention and they went between, returning into the fight as the sting of the Threadburn on their leg matched. Dr'stan grit his teeth as Ddraigth flamed.
The thread circled round them, but Siloth rolled, darting out of its reach. For a Bronze of his size, the fancy flying was none too easy - but they were safe!
