Unfortunately, the power went out all of a sudden.

Unfortunately, he also learned that man is mortal, and knows that his enemy would put the poisoned wine as far away from himself as possible, so the man clearly can't choose the wine in front of himself. (I'm sorry for double posting, but I just had to)

Fortunately, he had seen the Princess bride and learned to trick to the poisoned wine game.

Unfortunately the man has also seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail and realized he will be doomed in the end no matter what the outcome.

Fortunately he had connections to a screen play writer that could change the near future.

Unfortunately, that screenplay writer only wrote the upcoming episodes of My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic.

Fortunately, he learned that friendship is everything and the magic that it brings.
