spaceIvy was finally able to relax when she found herself on the platform, a magical barrier between herself and her mother. A hand went to her hair and ruffled it in agitation as the redhead tried to locate one of her friends to ride with. Would Joel even be here? Or was he at the castle already with his cousin? Ugh, she hated that her best friend was related to a professor, if only because he was never around when she fekking needed him. Like at the station last year; if he'd been there, they could've watched each other's backs, but nooooo, he had to be at the castle still with Grayson. The nerve, seriously! It didn't look like Snowflake or Addie had arrived yet, either. Although, the redhead did spot Eira's friend, what was it? Alice? She considered approaching the girl, but decided against it; she'd seemed sort of shy, and more than a little off-put by how brash Ivy was. Probably best to wait to approach her until after their mutual friend was present. She sighed in annoyance, glad that at least her mother hadn't followed her onto the platform; she was totally sick of listening to the woman try and talk her out of going back to school. After what'd happened, it'd taken Amata and Grayson's combined efforts to talk Evelyn into allowing Ivy to return at all. And she was still deliberating on the subject, had been until right up when Ivy had made it through the barrier. Crazy woman had decided Ivy could go back to school... but only if she really, really wanted to. Which, um, duh, of course she did? The Gryffindor had hoped to have her father's support, but for once he and her mother were in total agreement, which just made it worse. Those two never agreed on anything.

Rhys got through the barrier, immediately going next to Kenny, who was already through and scanning the platform. Probably for his elusive girlfriend, he thought. He hadn't seen the girl that seemed to steal his brother away, but he was certain he would at some point this year. Kenny however started moving through the crowd a bit, letting some other people get through and waiting for their father to come through. Rhys sidled closer to Kenny, feeling completely overwhelmed with how many people were on the platform. There were a lot. He shivered, closing his eyes as he tried to imagine himself back at home in the library. It was quiet, without all of the people. However, when he opened them again, he was reminded forcibly that he wasn't home and was instead here, with all of these people.

He swallowed hard and reached out for Kenny's hand, feeling tiny in this place. Kenny looked down and frowned, realizing Rhys was possibly close to panicking. Kenny wrapped his hand around Rhys's smaller one and gave it a squeeze.
"You okay there, Rhys? I mean, you're not going to panic here, right? Umm, I'll see if I can find da real fast, okay?"

Rhys shook his head firmly, knowing their father would be through the barrier shortly. "No, I'm fine. Just, are there always so many people here?" He'd let go of Kenny's hand to sign, and then stuck his hand back when he was done. He didn't want to be left alone with this many people. Thankfully, Ciaran made it through the barrier and had quickly found the two boys. After being hugged and kind of sobbed over (Ciaran was trying his best to not break into tears, but it was a close thing) the two said their farewells to their father and immediately started toward the train, Kenny keeping Rhys close and manoeuvring their trunks through the crowd. He was much more able to than Rhys, who was considerably shorter than everyone present.

Over the past week, Gideon Reid had had an interesting bit of things to do. He had packed all his new school things Monday, including most of his wardrobe. Of course, this lead to him having to constantly unpack and re-pack as he needed clothes to wear. Tuesday and Wednesday saw him reading through the books he'd gotten, though most of them were secretly boring. Thursday came along, and the Reid Family was packing for their little vacation in London. By the time Friday morning rolled around, the trio were loading into their suv and starting the trip to the hotel. After spending a rather restless night there, they ate a huge breakfast and left for King's Cross.

When they'd gotten to the giant train station, Gid looked at his ticket again. Platform 9¾. Were there such things as quarter platforms? They walked to Platform Nine, with Harrison pushing the trunk on a trolley. They waited, all trying to figure up a solution. With a grand stroke of luck, Maylene and her family came to pass to the platform. With help from her, Gid departed his family and the non-magic world. The boy looked around in awe, happily letting Tyler, Maylene's husband, move his trunk toward the train.

Gid was having enough trouble without trying to move a heavy trunk along anyway. He moved slowly through the crowd, grumbling about needing more room. It was super busy, but he figured there was only one train to Hogwarts! That meant all these people were magical, as his own parents had been unable to access the platform. With a sigh, Gid progressed. After a few minutes, he stopped to rest, standing a few inches away from a kid about his age with bright white hair, and a tall, older boy. Brothers, perhaps? He looked over, wondering if they knew more about the train. After clearing his throat, he decided to speak up. "Have you guys ridden before? Do we just get on? I've never taken a train before, magic or non. Who do we give tickets to?" God he sounded dumb. Oh well. Maybe he'd get a friend out of it? The white haired kid looked like he'd be in she same grade as Gid, where the other boy looked like a young adult. Maybe he'd get unlucky too... Oh well. Never hurt to ask, right?

Joel was kind of glad that Grayson had decided to let him ride the train. Now that he lived at Amata's place, he was certain that they would just take him to school with them. Thankfully that didn't happen, and he was able to get onto the platform just fine. However, he sighed as he noted that so far, Adaline and Eira weren't there yet, which just left... He grinned, manoeuvring his trunk over to where Ivy was standing. He'd heard a blow-by-blow account of what happened in Hogsmeade at the end of the year. He was actually glad that he wasn't involved. It was bad enough that he was certain that had he been, he would be dead, but that's just because he would have decided that screw wands, he'd literally kick the crap out of whoever tried to attack him. His legs were still in great shape from years of playing football, but they weren't necessarily as good as they used to be. Which sucked, but he still did athletic stuff. Just not on the ground as much.

He managed to get over to Ivy while tossing a glare at some Slytherin that bumped into him and leaned on his cart, looking around once more before he cracked into a grin.
"So, I hope your parents weren't going to make you stay home all year. Grayson and Amata hopefully convinced them otherwise, right? Or did you have to sneak out to get to school this year?" He wouldn't put it past Ivy to do that. She was stubborn, and he honestly agreed with her about the whole ridiculousness of not being safe at school. According to Grayson, there was nowhere safer in all of England from dark wizards, and he would be inclined to believe his cousin, if for no other reason than he was part of the staff and the school historian. He would know everything there was to the school, after all.

spaceJojo had spotted her boyfriend at King's Cross, apparently having arrived mere seconds after his family. She hadn't said anything to her father about it, though, or tried to approach the Lowery's. Firstly, she didn't really think this was the best moment for her dad and Kenny to meet, even if it would mean Antony didn't have time to interrogate the guy. And even if it meant that his dad didn't have time to interrogate her. Secondly... Well, it was his brother's first year, and Kenny's last. She remembered what her own dad had been like her first year, and figured it was a pretty easy bet that Kenny's dad wouldn't be all that different. She didn't want to awkwardly intrude on a family moment. Besides, he'd mentioned to her during her little freak out that Rhys sometimes had anxiety attacks like she did, and had absolutely no desire to make that worse. Considering how she'd already freaked out on one of his family members and probably scared her half to death, she had no desire to do it again. So, the blonde shuffled through the crowd, watching the teary goodbye between Ciaran and his two kids. The blonde considered approaching once the older man was gone, but decided against it; she had no idea what Rhys was like or what would set off his anxiety, and he already, at least from her vantage point, looked sort of freaked out. She sighed, shoulders slumping a little; she might have to wait a while to see Kenny. He'd probably want to stick with his brother, and she didn't want to shove herself in the middle of that. The Hufflepuff supposed she could third-wheel it with Jesse and Elliott, or Emily and Dylan... Or she could just curl up in a corner with a book and keep to herself. That'd probably be best. She didn't really find the idea of sitting with another couple all that appealing when she couldn't sit with her boyfriend. She watched a younger boy walk up to the pair, and wondered if that would make her chances of getting to spend time with Kenny better, or worse. Probably worse; if Rhys had anxiety and didn't know the other kid, his presence and hers would definitely be overwhelming. There was a chance that they knew each other already, she supposed, but best not to test it. She didn't want to risk it if that weren't the case.

Benjamin was still looking a bit horrified at his mother's latest threat as an all too familiar blonde came over, la Princesa. Or more specifically la Princesa de Timmy. He squinted suspiciously at her as she mentioned studying greeting his mum and dad. Meanwhile his mother smiled and said, "You're Timmy's girlfriend right? It's good to finally formally meet you. Feel free to take him off my hands, by all means, Mira, and when you see Timothy be sure to let him know like always the business deal we have still stands."

Benjamin crossed his arms and glares suspiciously at his mother. Now, his mum was just being evil, not even bothering to pretend like she usually did that she didn't bribe his best friend with books to spy on him or try to keep him in line. He searched Mira for a moment, trying to find a prefect badge on her unifrom and settled for blurting, "Please tell me you just forgot your badge in your trunk or something... because I swear if la bruja gets it I may have to kill someone, and yeah princess your 'best friend' is exactly that horrid if not more."

"Seymour..." Casey growled at her son, before trailing off as Morven joined them. "Ah, Morven, dear. Lovely to see you again. And not at all, there is nothing to interrupt. I was going to hand him off to Mira," Casey joked with a nod to Mira, "but you can take him off my hands too."

"Mum I'm not five," Benjamin said rolling his eyes.

"Considering what Casey walked in on with you and Morven I'd hope you weren't," Edwin laughed and got a glare by his wife and he said with a smirk, "What?"

Casey let out a long sigh and shook her head, "Anyways, about the job, don't worry about it, you did a better job than my son does, and I'm less worried about you burning down the shop if I step out. Next summer if you care to help out feel free to swing by again and you can have a job again. Anyways, since you are the 'responsible' one in the group I'll leave you to keep an eye on him. Have a lovely year... and Seymour..." Benjamin raised a brow and said, "What?" "You never told me what kind of flowers you prefer." "Lilacs. Dandelions. Roses, I don't care," Benjamin answered at random rolling his eyes, "Don't worry, I'll show up to class." Once his parents apparated away Benjamin added under his breath, "mostly..." before looking to Mira, "Speaking of your creepy, bitchy friend, won't she get all upset with you hanging with the likes of me. I swear she's been plotting to poison me for years." He shuddered slightly at the thought and then wrapped an arm around Morven's shoulders and lay his head on her shoulder and sighed theatrically, "I think I'm going to die this year... will you grant me a last wish, Mori? Out of the kindness of your heart... please?"

Gia walked through the barrier already annoyed had to be some sort of record. Last year she had been annoyed at the prospect of a long train ride (that she spent mostly be herself) and this year it was because of the damnable attack on Hogsmeade (not the platform she'd like to add!) that had people looking jumpy and walking extra super slow or she had students actually stare at her like they suddenly knew who she was before she glared at them and they went scurrying away. Ok, so admittedly that part was a little entertaining but everything else wasn't. She looked around for her friends noting that either none of them were there yet or they were already on the train. Knowing Lori it could be the second option and as for Carver, he could be on the bloody moon for all she knew. He was worse than a variable in math, he was like some infinite imaginary number that was constantly changing and practically laughed in your face whenever you tried to solve for it. Damn annoying was what it was but then what did that say about her since she willingly hung out with the nut? Since she didn't exactly see a point to stand around and look like an idiot, Gia continued pushing her cart towards the train with the intent on boarding and looking for her friends there.

With a decisive snap Selina closed the cover of her pocket watch before stowing it away. "We should best be going, I think," she told her feline companion, whom was perched atop her shoulder as she customarily was when they traveled. "No need to rush if it isn't necessary. One hopes this journey will be less eventful than the one getting here." Selina was unconcerned about either looking odd to Muggle eyes, or possibly being targeted by robed fanatics; events would happen as were their wont and she would take them as they came up.

After closing up her home for the school year, and taking care that Lugh and CuChulainn were returned to Mother Grey's cottage, Selina traveled to London via the Knight Bus. She'd paused long enough to get breakfast and fix so she looked a bit less windblown from her trip, before arriving at the great rail terminus.

Selina wore a long black skirt with a matching vest and Ravenclaw crest, and white silk dress blouse, and her school tie. A lightweight black cardigan went over this, so she could hide the wand strapped to her left forearm in a duelist's sheath, and the dagger in its hiding place at the small of her back, as well as a pair of finger-less armour gloves. After the hard lessons learned at the Hogsmeade Massacre, she figured it was only wise to have a little bit of life insurance with her. There was also a Red Cross approved First Aid kit and a bezoar in the book bag slung across her shoulder.

Despite the fact it was travel day, and fanatics attacked last spring, her family allowed her to travel alone, which was fine with her. Given she spent the summer dealing with the squabbling between the two halves of her family over whom got her house (and getting her was perhaps something of an afterthought), she was well and truly sick of the lot of them anyway. Her aunt and uncle gave her the option of coming home over Christmas, and Selina had yet to decide if she wanted to even bother.

As she stepped onto the platform she could tell there was a heightened tension in the air. While she dragged her trunk along on its dolly, she could tell farewells were a little more fraught with emotion, as parents lingered with hugs and kisses longer than they might otherwise have previously. Selina decided to avoid these displays as best as she was able, not wanting to intrude, nor reminded that her own family was less than inviting. She was hoping to spot Layton, but in the milling crowd it was hard to see anything other than people's backs.

Finally she spotted two familiar faces, and she waved and called out to them. "Grace! Dakota!"

Lynn pushed her trolley through the barrier and already started looking around. She was actually looking for her sister, Minnie. Zeph was right behind her, their father having picked her up from her home. She was kind of glad that her weirdness that her mother had insisted she get rid of wasn't actually weirdness, but instead was hereditary for her family. She sighed, her hand brushing a strand of hair out of her eyes. Well, she had several options. Follow Zeph, who seemed to tower over everyone from her perspective, or find her sister. She'd rather not be surrounded by guys all day, so she set out to find her sister.

She found her easily enough, making a beeline for her sister. Apparently there was another girl with her, so she smiled and waved.

Eyes wide, he stared at the boy for a moment or two after he asked his question. His hands rose quickly to sign something before he nearly facepalmed and realized the boy probably wouldn't understand him. He sighed, deciding to fish around in his pockets instead for his motepad to write on before he felt his brother's hand on his shoulder. Kenny was giving the younger boy a smile and jerked his head toward the train. "Yeah, basically. You just get on and find a compartment. Umm, I don't know about the ticket though. I've never been checked for it, though I think it's just to tell you what time and where the train is going to be. I'm Kenneth Lowery, by the way, and umm, this is Rhys. I'm one of the prefects for Slytherin, and Rhys is just starting like you. Nice to meet you, though, uh, you can call me Kenny. Everyone else does."

Rhys blinked from Kenny to the other boy, unsure as to how to proceed from there. He had gotten his notebook from his pockets and had flipped it to a page, but switched his pen from one hand to the other to offer that hand for the other boy to shake. He then quickly wrote something out on the notepad for him to read before showing it. "Hi. Nice to meet you." He then ducked his head, hiding his face behind his bangs and shuffling a bit behind Kenny. He wasn't trying to be rude, he just didn't know the kid at all. If anything, he might just throw up if someone kept staring at him.

Gideon shuffled a bit, adjusting his weight for maximum comfort. The white haired boy was searching for something, but the older boy stopped him, then spoke. Gid nodded along, certain he could find a compartment easily enough. Maybe with some kids his own age? The teen mentioned their names, then said he was a Prefect for Slytherin. According to the books, that was the house of the cunning and ambitious. Cool! "I'm Gideon Reid, but most people call me Gid. I'm sure it'll be a fun year, and there'll probably be lots of adventures! I'm so excited!" He smiled brightly, looking positively thrilled about the idea of school in an old castle. There were probably secret passageways and stuff! Rhys held out a hand, so Gid calmly shifted his weight to one arm, then moved to let go of one crutch. Easier said than done, yet still, he managed. The brunette shook Rhys' hand, glad to meet someone that would be in his grade. When the boy started writing, then turned it to show a polite greeting, Gid was a bit confused. Perhaps he was mute or something? "Nice to meet you too, Rhys! Are you excited for school?" He waited eagerly, now curious about the boy. It wouldn't be bad if he was mute, or even just super-duper shy. Gid had met all sorts of people with all sorts of different characteristics, but he firmly believed you could choose your own defining traits. Or... maybe he'd spent too long in therapy as a kid. Oh well.

It was a moment Dani really didn't want to see end, but knew it had to. Tears she promised herself she wouldn't shed formed at the corners of her eyes as her grandparents hugged her tightly. Though they were careful never to admit it, after what happened in Hogsmeade at the end of last term they were hesitant to allow her to return to the castle, especially Grandma Quinn. What surprised her though was when the owl arrived with her exam results, and she collected nine 'Outstanding' and one 'Exceeds Expectations'. While she was relieved to have done so well on her exams, it also meant she'd the bar pretty high for what she'd have to do on her NEWTs next term.

"We'll meet at the Three Broomsticks, as we usually do," Grandpa Quinn promised Dani, "and I'll bring you home for Christmas." Dani nodded, snuffled a bit, and replied, "All right, Grandpa." She barely noticed her trunk, with the bag for her broomstick strapped to it being passed off to be loaded onto the train.

When her grandparents let go of her, Dani turned to look at her Aunt Bella, whom was holding the soft-sided cat carrier with Sassy inside, and the bag holding the stuff she was taking with her on the train. She was fortunate, in that while she didn't make it onto the train, somehow her luggage, including the cat did, otherwise it was unlikely she would have been reunited with the half-Neasle whom was yowling piteously in her carrier. Dani collected the carrier and her bag from her aunt, and then hugged her.

"Try to have some fun this year, okay?" Bella told her. "You don't have anything to prove to us." Dani nodded, and said, "Okay, Aunt Bella, I'll try." The two women hugged once more, and Bella kissed her on the cheek before releasing her niece. Dani daubed at her eyes with a tissue, not wanting to be seen getting all emotional. 'After all,' she coached herself, 'nobody needs to see a prefect crying. Not today, of all days. The younger kids will be looking to me for some sign of strength, especially once we get back to Hogsmeade. Hopefully they've mopped up all the blood.'

As Dani went off toward the train, seeking out friendly faces, she knew her family would watch over her, and would continue to be there until she was on the train, and she didn't doubt there were other eyes, both here and at the school, whom would watch when they couldn't. It was more than she would say for her old family, whom had divorced themselves from her. At this point, though, the feeling was completely mutual; after last summer, she'd made the hard choice (and maybe it wasn't really so hard a choice after the way her parents blew off her attempts to heal the rift between them) of deciding she was now an orphan and an only child.

Dressed in a calf-length wool skirt with her House colours in a muted plaid, white leather dress shoes, white silk blouse with frills at the wrists and collar, House tie, black vest with her crest, Dani looked more like country gentry than she would have preferred, and she was likely to get teased by Cathy, but there wasn't much to be done for it right then. Her outfit was fine for the fancy breakfast she'd had with her grandparents prior to traveling to King's Crossing, not so much for being on the train. She wasn't so concerned about dressing for a boyfriend either, not when there wasn't one, and no likely prospects, at least not at at present.

As she looked around she spotted a familiar blonde-haired figure in black and yellow plaid. "Cathy!" Dani called out, and started rushing to catch up with her friend.

Eli sighed as he got through the barrier. He hadn't really had that great of a summer. He'd broken up with Dani and then was practically ignored. Hegot some letters from Dani, some from Jean, but really nothing from Cathy. However, he did have a high point over the summer. He'd run into Camila and Axel, a couple of siblings? Step-siblings? Either way, they had run into each other over the summer in Diagon Alley, and had talked for a while. Apparently they had tried to have a party over the summer, and Camila's mother had found out, which led to their parents cancelling plans so that the two couldn't hold the party. As a result, the two had complained long and hard to Eli, who had listened quietly. He didn't quite know why, but the three then started exchanging owls regularly (Eli having to use one of theirs when it came by because he still hadn't gotten one of his own yet) and now he was supposed to meet up with them at the station.

There was one other highlight about his summer, though. He had completely missed the attack on Hogsmeade, instead having to calm down kids on the train he was on since he had gotten on it first. That meant that since he said nothing about it, his parents weren't likely to pull him out of school. They had almost done it once right after his kidnapping, but he had told them that if they did, then there was a very likely chance that he would be unable to protect himself if it happened again. He sighed, glad at least that he no longer sported the foreign appearance that he had over the last school year. He'd given up on it when it seemed like the guy had vanished off the face of the planet. Now he just rubbed the back of his head and scanned the crowd, looking for Camila and Axel. They couldn't be that far off, unless something happened. Like they had run into some kind of trouble with zombies. He hadn't heard of any zombie outbreaks, but it was still possible.

xWendy Madeline Chaistyxxxxx
xxxx<5th Year>

Time: Autumn 2030
Location: Platform 9 3/4
Dressed: As Expected
------------------------------------------------------------------------xx

It had taken almost a week of planning and asking for Wendy to have convinced her father to just let Robert Avery II drop her off before heading off to some meeting he had in London. She promised to spend as much time as she could the last week-and did-with her father and not leave till she 'absolutely should'. When she was dropped off at Platform 9 3/4 she couldn't help but feel free. If she had to hear how much she was like her mother one more time she'd scream. And having to navigate the conversation about her best friend spending time with Timothy Whitethorne of all people was horrid. As Wendy looked about spotting Mira with the Ryans abomination and the redheaded Vass girl, she narrowed her eyes and sighed, it only got worse didn't it?

Shaking her head she sought out other company. It was easy enough to find Evander due to how easily recognizable his irritated voice was, but there was also an obnoxious sing song voice that just might get her to brush up on her silencing charms quick. Heels clicking on the platform she stopped as she stepped beside Evander, who to her slight irritation (but more relief) was just a hair taller than her even with her heels. It wasn't like Evander was particularly tall, and he was younger than her, but he was lucky enough that Wendy was naturally short. Still taller than Cathy a little. But Cathy was moving around so much it was hard to measure her and to be frank guys weren't really focused that much on her height. And, not that Wendy would actually admit it aloud, but she had taken note of Cathy's ploy in popularity and figured that 15 was old enough to wear a skirt an inch or two more above the knees. Most girls wore scandelously short skirts or rolled their skirts shorter, and while Wendy didn't go for that short, she saw no reason to keep such matronly length. It was 2030 after all. Besides, not like her fiance hadn't seen her in far less than a shorter skirt, though judging by his reaction when she stripped down to her bikini, he might notice, that would be amusing. Or he'd notice once he got over the horror of Cyrus and the fact she was prefect, which honestly surprised Wendy, though she supposed it might be due to the fact Mira hung out with a known troublemaker at times: Seymour Benjamin Ryans.

Smiling ever so briefly at Cyrus she said, "Why do you care to know how long till your sorting? Are you worried about your results? I mean Ravenclaw isn't that awful of a house... or do you think you'll really spit on the graves of your ancestors and get sorted into Hufflepuff or Gryffindor? Though, I suppose if you are a Hufflepuff, I could ask Cathaline to look out for you."

She raised a brow and then nodded to Antigone and Evander, "Good to see you seem better Anti. And you... well, Mr. Lillantine... if you are going to off your brother, be sure not to do it under my watch and be subtle about it."

Heartfelt goodbyes and warm embraces suffocated the step-siblings, their parents prattled on about safety and behavior, and after their school trunks were boarded on the scarlet train and the family uttered their last “I love you's”, Camila and Axel perused the station at a leisure pace, eyeing the other students and judging them under hushed whispers. They took stock of the first years and opened the betting pool. The animosity between them had simmered, somewhat, but that didn't stop them from baring their fangs every once in a while. ”Surprised your still here,” Axel prompted after their initial silence. His followed Camila's gaze as they lingered on Morven, Mira, and Benjamin, her typical Slytherin crowd.

”Oh, and what? Risk the chance of having to talk to Ryans' mum? No thank you.” Camila waved a hand of dismissal; she'd heard the horror stories from Mori, and exaggerations or not, she didn't want to find out. ”Besides, we're meeting Eli, remember? And look, the bloke's right over there.” Camila pointed past Axel's shoulder, slapped his beanie off his head—”you git!”—and then scampered off while he was distracted to gallop up to Elijah's side. ”Ayup, Eli, you alright there mate?” She never could be sure, the Ravenclaw was certainly odd; his perspective was certainly different than her own, but it was a refreshing change.

”Alright?” Axel greeted Elijag nonchalantly as he shoved his step-sister in the arm, knocked her several steps backwards, and slid his beanie back over his messy hair. Hey! She gruffed, glared, and resumed her previous spot while the Gryffindor sported a grin. ”We've got it all planned out mate,”again”since our barmy parents didn't go on vacation this summer like they were supposed to, we postponed the party for the holidays.”

”It shouldn't be hard to get them out of the house, either, just a quick owl to mi abuelita and we should have the entire house to ourselves for Christmas break.”
