Hinburath cruised along, flaming any thread that made the mistake of coming into reach of his flames. Nearby he noticed a wingrider become surrounded by Thread. He was flaming an impressive sheet while unaware three more fell towards them. The brown beat his wings, but it wasn't enough. Watch out! He warned the other dragon as he successfully flamed one of the three. The rest continued to fall toward a lower level.

Round 3: Day 2 Rolls
1. 14- You notice one of your wingriders is in need! Three clumps of thread are heading straight for them, while they are flaming down another impressive sheet. Ah, but your dragon is clever, and quick, and manages to flame all three down with short spits of fire. If a green, or blue rider, the thread turns to harmless ash, and both of you can continue on your way. [+3 Target Accuracy] If a brown, or bronze, you can't quite get over there in time. You call out to warn them, and manage to at least catch one clump while your wingmates blink Between. [+1 Target Accuracy]

Altoth was not happy to be back up in the air, but if her W'tarl insisted they do it, she'd weigh it all onto him. She warbled uncertainly once they were back up in position, then kreeled with confusion as the wind began to push her around. Certainly, she wasn't a big dragon, but she was stronger than this!

She pushed back against the wind, only to realize too late her struggle forward sent her into a clump of thread!

FLYING SECOND WAVE
Mid-Altitude

The green landed with a heavy thud, her body aching far beyond what she thought it originally was going on. Apparently adrenaline was an amazing sort of numbing agent, for as soon as Oyath felt A'ye slip off her back she nearly collapsed to the floor. Several healers ran over, tutting disapproval at how beat up she was, and the dragon watched from the corner of her eye as a few approached A'ye and looked him over. They tutted there too, displeased and judging.

Honestly Oyath wanted to bite them, but that involved energy.

Instead, she pressed her thoughts towards a certain bronze flying in the air. Let his rider feel the panic that had seized hers. Kindeth. We are at the healers. Mine is hurt. She didn't really specify the level, but that was what made it fun.

A'ye looked over at his lifemate raised an eyebrow, wondering just what could make her eyes swirl mirthful while she was clearly in so much pain.

You've only a moment to decide where to go, and both you and your dragon pick a spot and hop Between in an attempt to avoid Thread. Roll a D4 and take whatever damage or XP you're given! - 1: You critically fail! You either appear between directly in the clump of Thread and take Major Damage for -8 HP =or= you could wind up getting lost Between, and die, having not properly visualized where to jump. Death -- optional.
roll 3: Wheeling, flaming, catching thermals, fighting wind.... Threadfall is nothing if not exhausting. Greens, and blues find themselves panting with exhaustion. As they neared the Brown, a tangle of thread passed by, and Cynosuth flamed it right out of the sky. Passing off the firestone to Kalikath's rider went smoothly, and then it was a matter of returning to the Ashlings Wing. I... I did it! I did it, Mine!

Round 1 Day 1

[Roll 1/5]
    16. You appear from Between only to find yourself in the perfect spot to catch a sliver of Thread. You successfully flame it down easily. [+1 Target Accuracy]

[Roll 2/5]
    8. Your dragon dives for a strand of thread that has fallen through the upper wings. Right before they belch forth their flame, they suddenly jerk hard to the right, almost in a roll, and quite unexpectedly. Sure enough, a gust of wind would have whipped the thread back in their face! Instead, the strand whips by, and your dragon is able to successfully flame it. [+1 Instinct]

[Roll 3/5]
    6. A strong gust of wind suddenly pushes you off course and right into a sliver of Thread! If you're a bronze or brown, you or your dragon take a scathing hit, unable to get out of the way. [Minor Damage -3 HP] If you're a blue or green, you wind up twisting easily out of the way, flaming it down successfully! [+1 Stamina]

[Roll 4/5]
    1. Ouch! Feeding your dragon some firestone has resulted in them biting their tongue! This is going to distract your dragon for the next three rolls. Their flaming aim will go down, and they might be slower to dodge out of Thread's way. [Tongue Bitten Effect! Your dragon is distracted by pain. No XP will be earned for the next 3 rolls. Any successes will be nullified. Should you roll a prompt with the possibility of damage, take the max damage allotted for your size/color automatically but it will also end the Tongue Bitten Effect immediately.]

[Roll 5/5]
    16. You appear from Between only to find yourself in the perfect spot to catch a sliver of Thread. You successfully flame it down easily. [+1 Target Accuracy]

[Wingleader Roll 1]
14-16. If Wingleader you actually are on top of things today! You're here to look out for your wingmates and your seconds, and in this case, you manage to do both! Quote one your Wingseconds, or Wingrider and nullify any negative effects & negative HP from their most recent roll! This can include Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls! If Wingsecond you find yourself panicking. In a rough moment, you witness a catastrophe about to go down! Do you save one from Thread about to hit them, warn another they're flying directly into another's flame!? Who do you save!? Quote a Single Wingmate and have them lose -5 HP!

Round 1 Day 2
[Roll 1]
    13. Trying valiantly to catch some thread, your dragon flames a bit sooner than you would have preferred. Surprisingly enough, the flame is long, hot, and sustained longer than usual. Your dragon manages to flame the clump and return to their position in their wing. [+1 Flame Length]

[Roll 2]

[Roll 4]

[Roll 5]

[Wingleader Roll 2]
5-7. If a Wingleader, you were so focused on chewing out one of your wingriders who pulled a stupid move, that you actually miss catching a large clump of Thread that's falling right past you. A nearby wingmate winds up taking the hit -- as they were busy flaming a different clump of Thread and hadn't time to notice. Quote a Single Wingmate and have them lose -5 HP! If a Wingsecond you actually are on top of things today! You're here to look out for your wingmates and your Wingleader, and in this case, you manage to do both! Quote your Wingleader, fellow Wingsecond, or Wingrider and nullify any negative effects & negative HP from their most recent roll! This can include Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls!

We'll be there shortly, Dormith! Macuith happily volunteered. Oh, his first firestone run for the afternoon! And to such a fetching bronze like Dormith. The blue relayed the request, and was only too happy to oblige. Up and away -- they were going to get this bronze his stone, and look damn fine while doing it! Or at least, that's what the pair hoped.

While they flew up to meet W'dre and Dormith with their usual flash and flare, it wasn't the getting there that was the problem. It was the . . . everything else. Hey... How you doin'? The dragon half-flirted while his rider scrambled to get the stone undone. Unfortunately, when he took aim to throw, a sharp pain suddenly caught his back -- and made his first throw absolutely miss its mark.

"Oh, Shaffit!" He cursed, in both pain and embarrassment. Well, that . . . hadn't gone to plan. Well, nothing to be done about that. He grabbed another bag, this time accounting for his wrenched back, and managed to get it to the bronze rider. With a salute, he wasted no time getting the two of them out of there.

It's all right, Mine. Perhaps Viandarth's and you kissed your goodbyes a little too rough this morning. Macuith breezily encouraged.

The handoff of firestone couldn't have gone better. The precious whirling had even saved them from thread. Thank you, Cynosuth. That was beautifully done. And the two dragon rider pairs parted ways.

As they were returning to the formation the wind pushed them around a little unexpectedly. Before he could right himself, Kalkaith's tail got tangled up in a small clump of thread. Hissing he jumped between and back, hoping the young green did not see.

The wingleader took a moment to look around at his wing. They were over halfway through the fight now and the second wave of greens and blues were with him. It made his thoughts turn below, much below, to where Lestenna and Uridith he hoped were somewhere. We'll find them safe and well when we're done.

[Roll 2]

[Roll 3]

[Roll 4]

Round 3 Day 2 Mid altitude
[Roll 1]

[Roll 2]
Your dragon has a moment of true inspiration, and sends out encouragement to his or her wingmates. Encouragement Boon! Quote one of your wingmates and remove one status effect

Again they whirled and dove, rising and falling with the winds and Flaming down Thread as it came to them. Lireloth even managed to pull off a fairly neat barrel roll before blasting a clump of Thread from the sky, the ash floating down harmlessly to the ground before it was carried away by the wind. They rose once more to the altitude of their wing, eyes on the lookout for more Thread to burn.
