Defining Moments

Recently I realized that one of the only things that makes me happy nowadays is making OTHERS happy... Which, of course, is entirely contrary to my dark and gloomy normal countenance.. eek

Today was a defining moment for me, but..


I'm curious... (and also I haven't made a topic in AGES..)

Anything what you would classify as a moment/event in your life that seriously contributed to who you are today.

Would have to be that time I almost broke both my legs, I'd say that was a big defining moment, but also when I surprised myself by doing something that I'd always been afraid of. Made me feel all mature and confident. It was an "I didn't know I had it in me" moment. xd

When I watched Serial Experiments Lain, I realized I would become a computer engineer.

This might me lame but when I joined speech in 10th grade. I was such a shy person, and I still am but I know how to get over it. It was probably the best thing I've done. Plus I meet most my friends there and those are the people who shape who I am to and extent.

When I passed the buzzing test on mouthpieces and was chosen to play tuba...been playing for 6 years now and plan to play for as long as I can! biggrin

Probably when my brother got lost at a local open-air festival. 'Till then, he was "that little thing that wouldn't go away. Now he's "That's little thing that won't go away that I'll break your arms, legs, nose, fingers, toes, spin, and even TONGUE for touching."

Probably when i started working as a Diesel specialist early this year domokun i never realized before that how hard-a** a boss can be and how short the days truly are and the true worth of money when u work for every cent of it domokun THUS i have a crusade against beggers lol mrgreen

i want to walk up to it and say "hello, navi" and have it say hello back! 3nodding

a defining moment of my life was probably when my daddy hooked up our 1984 pc junior in the living room and showed me how he could talk to the people @ work using the computer.

i was like "WHOA...you can use the COMPUTER to TALK to people???"

3nodding yeah, i'm old...shut up!

another defining moment was probably when we first got atari and i begged my mother to let me eat dinner while i played because i didn't want to stop. but she came over and unplugged it, i went to the dinner table, and thus a cycle of addiction was thwarted! heart i love my mama for that!!!

Hm...I'm not too sure...I've been having a lot of those lately, but that's because I've been examining my psyche in connection with my actions and my past. You'd be surprised with how much you can learn about yourself that you didn't know before. o.o

Other than that, one of my major ones would be when my English teacher revealed to me that not only could I read about fantasy worlds with fantasy people, but I could WRITE about them myself for others to read and enjoy. o.o I tried it and loved it so much that my greatest goal is to publish as many good books as I can, just to see how much joy I can bring to others. And if I get fanmail, I'll answer every single one, too. ^^

I have two moments.

One moment is when I played my first video game.
The second is when I first registered for a forum when I was 9...and hid it from my parents...They still don't know...

My first would be when i started my martial art- there's nothing like it in my life and it has taught me so many things that i wouldnt have known about myself otherwise

My second would be getting my black belt and realising im not as s**t at this as i thought whee

i think a big moment for me was when my parents split up. i had to become the "man of the house" for my mom... and it was hard at first, but i kinda like it now x]
