Blacklight was raised by her mother Sa'ida, a fake clairvoyant. While Black does not think that she has inherited any psychic powers, she believes wholeheartedly that her mother would never lie to her, and will not react well if other Soquili question her heritage.

This mare is a flake, a flirt, and a free spirit. Just about the only things that she takes seriously are her many superstitions. She is very conscious of the good fortune that she's experienced in her life - inheriting her father's wings, and having a peaceful and loving childhood - and is determined not to lose it. Her attempts to help others stay away from unlucky situations are very well-intentioned, even if her concerns can be quite silly.

Black recently became pregnant and bore two foals by the stallion Swift Wind. They got together as a fling, never intending to become serious, and the children came as a surprise to both of them. Right now they're staying together as friends to raise the children and try to figure out their own feelings. Black knows that Swift is a free spirit like herself, and she wouldn't dream of demanding his fidelity if his heart wasn't in it.

// [ History and Personality ]
Vartan was an inquisitive foal with a love for hands-on learning. There was hardly anything that he won't try once. While Vartan was a little vain about his appearance, he was never afraid to get his hooves dirty. He knew that mud always washed off.

Now Vartan is a very practical stallion, to the point that he might come off as a little impassive. He spends most of his time working and training, and hardly pays any attention to his looks at all, trusting that he looks fine so long as he lets his mane and tail grow as they please. He doesn't primp his hair like certain siblings, and only allows himself the small vanity of tucking a few roses on his jewelry.

Carnivores disgust Vartan. Being confronted with meat-eating Kalona and Half-Kalona is will likely drive him to violence. He believes that if he confronts the Soquili that he so loathes, he will show that his blood is not tainted by his Kalona grandmother Izusa. Little does he know that his violent streak is Izusa's direct legacy. Vartan spends a lot of time trying to prove to himself that he has principles and isn't evil.

Vartan will consider home soon after growing. His brother's taunts wear thin, and he'd rather not attack his own sibling and upset his parents.

Now Vartan's training as hard as ever, but feeling very lost under his cranky, gruff exterior.

Bright Dusk can fly, but not as high as a Wind Soquili. He can heal, but not as well as a pure Unicorn. He's an Alicorn, and that means he's a jack of two trades and master of neither.

This does not bother Bright in the least.

Bright is intelligent, good-natured, and enthusiastic. He believes strongly in the goodness and grandeur of life, to the point that he sometimes cannot see darkness when it stares him in the face. This attitude is not born of naivete. Rather, Bright wears his optimism as though it were armor, blocking out all the parts of the world that he finds unpleasant. He developed this quirk as a coping mechanism to deal with his parents' troubled relationship.

When he's older, Bright will be the sort of stallion that greets everything life throws at him with a happy smile, no matter how hard he has to work to fake it. He'll also hopefully be less clumsy. Most of his healing skills have been learned from patching up his own scrapes and bruises after bad landings.
