Um..help with trades! please!

I won this contest and the person that was holding the contest gave me a trade so that I could get the prize! I acepted the trade and the items didnt show up in my inventory! Do I have to wait for the person to approve the trade or is it some kind of glitch? Please answer! I am really confused!!!! confused whee

Have you notified the other person?
Does the trade show as completed, or canceled?
