So, for reasons I don't care to discuss, I have a ton of Chrono Trigger sound effects. They're in SPC format, and I'm attempting to convert them into WAV files using Winamp and the SNESamp plugin.

Bottom line: How do you convert file formats in Winamp?
Discussion: Methods of doing so, effectiveness and easyness of one method vs another.

This website will probably help you a lot in configuring and converting. I don't use winAMP so, I don't know much about it.

One question I DO have to ask is, why .wav? .mp3 is more universally excepted...

Also, last thing here too, don't worry about trying to explain having sound effect files.. I have TONS of video game OSTs, and almost all of them contain a bonus track that holds ALL the SE noises. I think of it as a fun little bonus.

Ah, there we go! Big help, thanks!
Now... some of the sound effects loop for 3 minutes straight... so... Do you know of a free and safe audio clipper?

mp3 is a lossy format, Pancake. If he's using using them raw, wav are better to work with.

As for audio processing, all I can say is Audacity.
