Metallica is one of the greatest bands in the country, the greatest in the metal genre. My favorite is For Whom the Bell Tolls, because that was the first of their songs I learned how to play.

How can you like music and not be a fan of Metallica? They are 1 of the greatest bands EVER. With songs like: one, for whom the bell tolls, enter sandman, king nothing, puppet master, etc you would have to be braindead to not love Metallica. probably my favorite song by Metallica is The Unforgiven. but i really dont have a favorite Metallica song cuz they have SOOOOO many great songs that its hard to love one song more than the others.

I grew up listening to Metallica. Mom loved it and listened to it all the time. And, I liked it too. 3nodding

Except you failed to name ay of their actually good songs. Their first 3 albums were very good. Everything after them sucked. They wet dow hill and sold out and now Hetfield's voice sounds like s**t. Their new album was terrible. Alright, but terrible at the same time. They are far from being the greatest. One of the most influential, maybe, but certainly not the greatest.
My favorite songs were from when they were actually good!
Four Horsemen
Jump in The Fire
Ride The Lightning
I've also noticed everyone else is only listing their overrated and overplayed songs that really weren't all THAT great. Come on people!

Certainly they're not the greatest band ever.
But they are quite enjoyable.
I've always really liked Nothing Else Matters and Low Man's Lyric.

Metallica is pretty bad actually. In the mainstream of the metal genre I'd rank them quite low. And they'd be near bottom if I consider the metal genre as a whole.

metallica is one of my two favorite bands, the other being dragonforce.
dont have any particular fav amongst their songs, but album wise, master of puppets was definatly the best.
