ninja Hello thar ATG. I'm not dead despite the rumors. 90% of my time is being consumed by work, and my Saturday ESL class. But then last week the home computer got the virus equivalent of the bubonic plague...fortunatley it survived and the Geek Squad is saving it as I type. My laptop also decided it was time to inhale as many viruses as it could, and barely ran.

Finally, my dad put the new Norton on my laptop and it's working again. >w<

So anyways, I apologize for my massive absence from Gaia. I still log on at least once a day (provided I have access to a working compy).

What's been occupying your time?

GRM DOESN'T LIKE THE NORTON OR AVG!!!!

Norton only gets rid of about half the viruses *glares at Norton*. AVG did this thing to our computer where I couldn't download from the internet. Not a single thing. I've got it half fixed right now where IE can download but not Firefox. AVG is still in my computer despite doing EVERYTHING I COULD to get rid of the bugger!

Speaking of, I should scan my system. Thanks for the reminder!

Work, classes, trying to find time to sleep more than 5 hours a night and failing miserably but doing it anyway. :<

Yay for fall break. Now I just have to play catchup on homework.

all security software is annoying at best and destructive at worst.

malware bytes is my personal favourite for damage control. Everything else gives me nothing but false positives. The keygen for my illegitimate copy of winamp pro is NOT a trojan, thanks for ignoring the exception I set for that. I actually have to turn off my antivirus every time I try to do something in that folder.

Well, this is the newest version of Norton, which did an excellent job cleaning up what AVG Free failed to destroy...which was a lot. It changed this computer from a giant paper weight, back into a computer again, so I have no complaints.

I have spybot and Malware bytes. Both do a find job for me!

I don't have Windows. sweatdrop When I did, I used AVG and Spybot and never had any problems. I also used NoScript and adblock plus while browsing. (Still use adblock, for that matter.)

I currently use Avast for scanning anything I send to my friends who use Windows.

I've never had anything but trouble with Norton. My computer came with both Norton and Macafee installed. =/ As soon as I tried to uninstall Norton, it demanded I enter the password to turn off the parental controls...a password I'd never set. o__O It had me locked out of everything for hours.

On my parents' computer, it harassed and nagged them about all kinds of non-problems (like a lovely warning saying "Prevented an attack on your system" when blocking a window from opening a new page...), but completely ignored the major problem that ended up ******** up the system. >.O
