[PRP] ... Of Food and Teen Dusts...

[Faeyas]

Sable gently drew her finger across the stove. The thick dust that lay there was uncharacteristic of an otherwise busy and fully used home. But the stove itself had not been touched in ages.

She turned and went to the fridge. Upon opening it she found many a rotten and spoiled foods. Foods that were mainly not edible by themselves, but were ingredients for larger recipes.

Thanks to sable there was an ample amount of honey, bread, and apples in the house. The apples were courtesy of Mia who was, with reason, concerned that Sable and Cada were not eating.

"Cada." Sable called out "When was the last time you ate anything?" She inquired, wondering herself when was the last time she ate a full meal that wasn't bread, honey or apples...

Entering the kitchen Cadaver had one of the rotten apples in hand munching on it as if it had been freshly picked. Probably one of the upsides to having an affinity to his pestilent state. He didn't mind the bland taste so much but preferred fresher items then to the apple that currently looked molded over. "Hm?" He replied peeking at the fairly vacant fridge.

As the question dawned on him he eyed the nearly complete rotten apple then blushed sheepishly holding up a bag of more rotten apples -- possibly three -- "Um... it's been a while since I had a decent meal. I've just been going over to papa's house a little more than usual." Never mind being kicked out a few times and told to return home to eat there. Cada neglected to tell his papa the situation with Krinn's sudden disappearance.  

[Faeyas]

"I suspected as much," sable sighed and pointed to the refrigerator "seeing as we have no food." She looked at the bag of apples Cada had in his hand and did her best not to look too disgusted. He may be able to eat that, but Sable couldn't... "I think we need to go shopping and buy some basics to cook with... " She suggested.

Without Krinn here to bug them about the groceries, or to made food appear on the table, it seemed that someone needed to take up the reigns. Eating was vastly important.

Cada brightened considerably at the idea of shopping for some fresh groceries. While Krinn wasn't here to cook it for them maybe a cook book would be necessary. "You know I suck at cooking and well you're not pro yourself. We should get a book..." He interjected tossing the bag of apples in the trash along with the one he was eating. "Maybe we should ask our parents if they could help?" Though he wasn't in the mood to hear any of them scream about how they shouldn't have moved out to begin with. It was such a pain. "Let's just get some groceries first."  

[Faeyas]

"Groceries and a cookbook." Sable agreed. She ignored the idea of asking parental figures. Sable would rather not see Mia again, especially not to ask her for help. But it wasn't something she'd easily announce, so she'd just wait and see if Cada forgot, "The cookbook first so we can see the ingredients we should buy." Sable grabbed her coin purse from her room, "Where do you think they sell them?" Sable wasn't too into books.

Cadaver gave a soft grin and shrugged as he walked with Sable to the market. "I'm sure they have a book store nearby. There should be all kinds of books we can choose from." And of them would be a cook book he had hoped.

As they continued down the boardwalk sure enough a book store was along the way. "There!" Cada pointed out and quickly moved toward the window were inside it showed a line of books as far as he could see. "We can ask the clerk for what we need."  

[Faeyas]

"ahh yes," Sable muttered, "Now I remember why I avoid these places," She spoke to herself mainly as she entered the dingy, dark, and musky store. Books were piled up in random piles on the floor, stuffed into books shelves and just all over the place. It was like moving around in a tight maze as she made her way to the counter where the store clerk sat.

The clerk was a middle aged one who wore glasses and didn't seem to care much about the growing trends. Her garments were drab almost unkempt but for the most part she seemed friendly enough. "Hey lady do you have any cook books!" The raised voice of Cadaver came from some place in the back of the store, not being so big anyone could hear him. Thankfully it was only the two of them along with the woman that currently occupied the store. "Maybe something with yummy treats in it too..."

The woman snorted eyeballing Sable and trying her best to roll her eyes at Cadaver who would undoubtedly miss it from his position out back.

"Keep it down in here boy, we don't like all that noise."

Cada only managed to feel sheepish for a brief moment before he gleed. "SABLE! Look?" Completely ignoring the woman's warning he came to the front slamming a dusty book on the shelf. "Is this what we need?"  

[Faeyas]

Sable took hold of the offered book and dusted off some of the time from it in order to be able to read the title better. "Cook book" was written across the top in a gold emboss, and the think leathery sides told sable that this was an old cookbook. "Well it certainly says it is what we need." She told Cada as she cracked open the book, "Let's see if it holds what we need." She scanned through the table of contents... personally she could live with apples... and basically anything sweet, but Cada might need something more... "hmmm Cada? See anything you like?"

Cadaver moved to see over Sable's shoulders. Taking a look at the contents he didn't see anything that popped out right away but as she turned the pages, there were many other meals that he had yet to see Krinn cook, let alone anyone else. "Those look interesting.. maybe we should try them out." He offered hoping beyond hope that there were some instructions for pastry treats in there as well.  

[Faeyas]

"hmmm.... they do look interesting..." Sable mused as she flipped to the back of the content's pages..... and there it was. "Aha" she put a finger down on the section title "Confectioneries!" which sable learned while going with Mia meant "sweets" but in some old tongue that mattered only for times like these "Any of those look good?" She asked Cada. They both loved sweets so this section was the most important.

"Oh look an apple pie! And they have all kinds of other goodies. We should get this one definitely." Well that was that, he didn't mind regular food but with no Krinn to tell them otherwise they could eat their desert first and maybe have some dinner later.
