Memory Markets.

xxWho: Ziya & Krinn.
xxWhere: Amies Market.
xxWhen: Early Afternoon.

❤ ❤ ❤

For having been to the market so many times before, the dust couldn't remember a thing. Eyes flickering towards the crowds of people, moving in and out like waves, Krinn hummed softly under his breath. Seated on the edge of the fountain that decorated the middle of the square, the dust couldn't help but feel somewhat dazed. It had only been days since they'd exited the wilderness and come to town. The rain had been surprised to find a house ready and waiting for them, and Suika examining and declaring the space above the first floor to be his own. It was so surreal that it made Krinn wonder what kind of life he'd lived before. Had he been lucky to meet Suika? Who had he been residing with before, if anyone? Who had he known before? And where were they...? That was the question, wasn't it. Where were they.

Krinn was restless to find out. He was restless to know. But for now, he could only sit and wait helplessly. Wait for something to come around. The dust gave a soft sigh, pressing his lips to the sweet warm bun that Suika had tossed to him along with a few gold coins. He was supposed to go get something for the horses, but she'd told him to explore first. Work was important, but rest came first. Biting into the warm... what was it, a meat bun...? Krinn sighed, his eyes flickering to the crowd. Everything seemed familiar, yet just outside his line of vision, his reach. He couldn't touch it, as much as he tried. Suika had suggested that it might take awhile. A person never truly lost their memories, but it could take months, even years to get it back entirely.

Months, years...

The rain didn't want to wait that long. He was getting slightly restless and frustrated, fast. All he knew was the taunting voice from before, the one that continued to chide him about the sun and the rain and distant voices, distant sounds. No image came and lasted for more than a few seconds. No deja vu brought to mind any memory he used to know. The dust gave a soft sigh and pressed himself off of his perch, feet meeting hard, cobblestone ground. Leaning his lower back against the side of the fountain, Krinn gave a low whistle and tilted his head back, looking at the clear sky. He wondered when it would rain next. He'd never been a fan of clear, sunny days. But most people had never been a fan of rainy, stormy days either, which made bringing them on even harder for Krinn. He could almost hear Suika's whines, children moping that they couldn't go play. Most of the world saw the rain as something that could never outshine the sun. Krinn wondered if he'd ever be able to change their perspective.

With a sigh, the dust moved to look out at the crowds, chewing thoughtfully on the food. He was restless, and he wanted something to happen. He was restless, and he didn't know what to do. Hopefully something would come along soon. Something...

But what?

The market was a usual haunt for the lightening teen, there was always something for him to do there whether he was alone or with company. Today he was on his own and had gotten tired of hanging around at home. There was only so much he could do there and he couldn't very well hang out with his guardian all the time. He found as time went on he felt more compelled to go out and do things on his own. It wasn't that he didn't like his guardian, he cared a great deal about him, it was just lately he felt the need to be on his own. That and it seemed after a lull of not seeing any other dusts, he found he was running into others more often. He faintly wondered if that meant something, but he just brushed it off as pure coincidence.

Digging some money from his wallet, he purchased an apple from a cart and proceeded to eat it as he walked around. Ziya always had some sort of pocket change since he worked as a dishwasher/server at the pub his guardian worked at. He was more staff then just a helper now and regular patrons were now just as used of seeing him as they were Ashton. It was great for him though, he was slowly saving up his money, but for what he wasn't too sure of. He wasn't close to anyone like Cada, Sable and Krinn were; he didn't have anyone like that. Though he hadn't heard from any of those three in quite some time.

Taking another bite out of his apple thoughtfully, he just seemed to wander, weaving in and out of peoples way. As he did this, he grew closer to the fountain in the square, knowing it was always a nice place to sit and watch people go by. Heading right towards it, he paused upon seeing someone there already. He blinked and then noticed who it was. Grinning brightly, he walked closer towards the person, though not rushing up as not to startle him.

“Hey Krinn!” he called over gently.

It hadn't really crossed his mind, the prospect of meeting someone here. The rain could on his fingers the number of coincidental meetings he'd had with some of the strange people that seemed close to him, or tied together. They were spaced out in uneven places over the timeline of his life after waking up, and it made guessing when he would meet another harder and harder as time continued to rush ahead. Sighing, the dust tilted his head back to clear his mind. This wasn't going to help his recent onslaught of restless frustration. Only worsen it. With a soft hum, he finished the food he'd been eating, his stomach grumbling it's reply. Krinn opened his eyes and stared up at the sky above, its clear blue preening back at him. Frowning at it, the dust looked back down, feeling a cool breeze brush past him. There was no rain today, he could already tell.

"Hey, Krinn!"

Startled out of his revery - even with the gentle voice's calling - the rain moved away from his perch quickly, eyes trailing to the person who was walking forward, towards him. Again with the name they knew and their unfamiliar faces! This wasn't fair! Doing his best not to grimace, the dust quietly crossed his fingers that the others reaction wouldn't be as bad as others. He noted the bright grin, the eccentric clothing and the familiar pull in his chest. Everything screamed at hints and nudges, faint tastes of remembrance but nothing concrete. Just who was this person trying to address him? Hazy, the dust brushed fingers through his storm gray hair, forgetting to move either forward nor back. Carefully enough, he inclined his head, dual eyes watching Ziya with vague intrigue.

"You are...?"

It was the only thing he could think to ask, the crowd around them moving in slow, blurred motions. He wanted to ask so much more, but his tongue was tied. Just how would this person react? Just who was he? The rain was wary, even more so than usual for some reason. Perhaps it was getting to him, the amount of meetings and the lack of... memory gain. But maybe that just meant it was time to give that up. To move on. Yet something held him firmly in place, and even though it was on the tip of his tongue, Krinn couldn't even guess what. Turning his head to the side slightly, the rain's eyes never left this stranger he should have known.
"Have we met before?" He asked in a straightforward manner. He wanted to know this person. But he wasn't sure how well that would go.
