I've only just recently and finally finished the original anime and following movie. I loved it, I know it was all the rage a few years back and I'm probably to late but I absolutely loved it and I'm glad I finished it.
Now I'm starting the second anime based more on the manga, wish me luck smile

oh yea i loved it, i watched it while it was new on tv, the original, and i absolutely was obsessed with it, my friend who is also a lover of anime bought the whole series and the movie so one weekend we just watched the whole thing all over again. i started watching brotherhood but i just couldn't, i liked the original show more and i never read the manga so i just stopped watching it but i do hope you like it biggrin

I'm somewhat of an elitist when it comes to anime/manga, and a lot of what the US brings over is shot in the foot during dubbing.
So, I did enjoy it, but I find a lot of limitations in the choices of what is deemed "the right choice" to bring over and be aired by the us.
