Summer Mornings


the sun comes up early now
the cat's love to sing and all I hear is Meow
gods greatness is always a blessing
we know this because the stars are now resting

Tasting the crisp summer air
walking outside without a worry or care
the birds chirp happily and blissfully
today is the first day of summer and I think "really?"

I force myself to come back inside
this weather really gave me and emotional ride
sometimes its better for it to be warm instead of cold
because during these mornings the coffee smells bold.
