~The Nexus~
Welcome to the place where the dead go to die. Those killed during the arc awaken here, in the Hallowed Grounds. Other lost souls and bodies roam around as well, acting as if they are alive and normal. They retain their wits, but wish to know where to go and what to do. They want to pass on. They require a Shepherd.
~Syndicate of Sol~

Welcome to the Syndicate
Now, these Syndicates are just religious fanatics of Amaterasu, Ra, Sol, et cetera. They worship the Sun. They all wear white robes and white masks (with colored customization) to signify their positions. These men are all S or SS in rank. Now, what do these men want to do? They want to ascend humanity into godhood. They believe the Sun is a portal or a catalyst to this level of power, and all previous Gods have entered the Sun to be where they are today. Ancient machinery is hidden beneath major villages. Either the active ones or all of them (colonies included). When these are activated, catastropes happen. Tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, et cetera. And with that, the Earth starts to lose...velocity. And goes towards the Sun. Oh God damn it, we're heading towards the Sun, what do we do. Oh s**t. Wait, calm down. There's a solution. The Syndicate, after each activated machine, spreads their gospel. More followers in white robes, minus masks, follow them. Shinobi fight to hold the machines. The arc ends when the Syndicate is eradicated. BUT WAIT THERE'S A TWIST. OH MAN FRIGGIN M. KNIGHT UP IN THIS b***h.
All the machines do, after the first is activated, is speed up the descent into the Sun. However, one last machine must be activated to "enter" the portal to godhood, at the North Pole. You heard me. Final showdown at the North Pole. Army vs. Army. Or not. Depends what the RPers do. BUT WAIT OH GOD DAMN THERE'S ANOTHER TWIST. HOW DO YOU DO IT FIRE? HOW DO YOU KEEP LAYING DOWN THESE SICK BEATS?
The Syndicate spreads through their religion that while humanity will ascend as Gods, they will be immortal and invincible. However, there will be one, the one left standing to activate the machine, that will ascend beyond that. They will become what is known as an Architect. The creators of matter, time, space, everything. Only the most powerful is to achieve this. The Syndicate will plot amongst themselves to eliminate competition. Though they need at least one other to reach the final machine, only one can ascend to be the Architect.
Not only this, but normal RPCs can choose to join the Syndicate and be converted to this religion...or simply quest for power. So, what's the deal?
Nobody actually dies once a machine has been activated, they are placed into what is called "The Nexus". This is the fabric of space and time. These dead RPCs and NPCs can affect the real world through bits of luck, dice rolls, and just screwing with people. Those who master the Nexus, can choose to take on a new class of "Shepherd". This class will be discussed and created when it comes to it.
So what happens to the Syndicate? Say somebody finally activates that last machine. PLOT TWIST AGAIN. The machine is picky. It wants those that are impressionable and young. It can be activated by genin, and only genin. Once a genin finally activates it, they can choose to ascend to the class of "Architect".
And so, the spoils are divided up after the arc from participation and killcount and et cetera. Doesn't stop there. The Shepherd and the Architect are two sides of a coin. The Shepherd believes on the balancing force of darkness to keep everything in line, while the Architect will seek to raise humanity to a standard of peace that can't be achieved. They are mortal enemies and will always seek to destroy the other. The only way they can truly die is to be killed by the other...however. They can still be destroyed by normal RPCs, though they will reform after four days. Is the Shepherd is killed, Earth will witness a second Sun for the rest of its days. If the Architect is killed, the Earth will gain a second Moon...for the rest of its days.
Phase One Hault
The Syndicate has taken notice of their actions being...noticed. They are backing off for now. The stars have told them to. In a strange pass, as if in an orbit, the planes of Life and Death are no longer intersecting. Death can once again occur as normal. The orbit of Earth has been shifted slightly, due to the activation of the machines. There is no longer a Fall or Spring. Only harsh Summers and grueling Winters with a week or so of Fall or Spring weather in between.
The Syndicate is not gone, only waiting until the stars have aligned the correct way. When they are ready, they will strike again.
