Art Requests are for requesting commissions. Art shops you go into buy art but not many people have prices as low as 300k. You might be better off trying in the commissions or even going into art freebies and tipping them x amount.

Also I think there's a Art Request and Commission guild that pops up sometimes in the Gaia Guilds homepage that you can join. 3nodding
