Le Pierre Taillee (The Stone Carved) Herd~ Open Sorta

Welcome to Pierre Taillee or aka The Stone Carved Herd

Haven't had a chance to think of everything for this herd but it in essence be a hire-able Gargoyle herd/ guild. In which stone or stone like soquili and their mates are hired out by other soquili/ herds in order to work as a number of postions in order to protect the lands/ crops/ member/ etc of their hirers. The herd would consist of three main sort of sentry and or guard positions. Solid stones, those whose purpose it is so simply sit in an area and guard it by looking fierce with out much movement. The Bells (referring to Church Bells) those who often seen as unmoving and for the most part will just try and protect their designated area by looking scary as hell but will if needed move to attack. And the Guards those who are usually the larger of the herds and are constantly in motion doing rounds around their areas. There of course would be other members of the herd who would bring food and water and other necessary items to the Sentry positions and others who would help teach future sentry positions , along with a number of other statues for events and so-on.

( Black Aggie along with her son (based on the Haserot angel Statue) and Gargiggle will be some of the founding members once I can get Aggie's son and Gargiggle customed.)

Gargoyle herd Ranks: (Based on the Mohs Scale of Stone Hardness. Top Ranks are those who are the best at being guardians/ watchers. Lower ranks belong to those who help out the higher ranks

Foreuse de Pointe: The highest rank with in the herd is mostly for the herds elders and most skilled in their craft, it is also known as the Diamond rank. Diamond Rank is reserved for those amongst the herd who have been with in it the longest and have learned the restraint and skills necessary to go with out movement for days or weeks with assistance from others but have retained the ability to act and scare off or attack predators or enemies as needed.

When a truly skilled gargoyle becomes to old to no longer work in the field they have two choices to stay as a Diamond rank and no long do any form of work beyond helping to decided who takes which assignments and giving advise to younger gargoyles or they can take a Corundum Rank and work as a teacher of up coming ranks till they fully retire.

Corundum: This second highest rank known as the Corundum is held mainly by elders who have retired into teaching their skills to lower ranks or those who are in the prime of their working life but have not yet completely reached the rank of Foreuse de Pointe. Corundum rank usually take the jobs that are just as important or as needed of fighting skills as the Diamond rank but will not take as much time or can have more assistance. Usually Corundums handle the assignments that up to a week long at the maxium if the assignment runs over the week time limit another Corundum will be assigned to take the first place and so on.

Topaze: The last of the sort of extended period of time ranks Topaze members work the same as Corundum but are only skilled enough to last three days at maxium. They often work in groups switching in and out of guardian duty in a rotational like fashion.

Le Quartz While skilled in the guardian arts these are the first of the ranks that choices not to be still in their guardianship they often work with one of the above ranks in order to protect an area. Because they are often in movement their is no time limit for how long a Quartz can work. Seeing as they can leave and rest or gather food as long as they have another Quartz to help take their spot for a while

Orthose: Orthose are the first completely non guardian rank of the herd. The job of the Orthose is support in the form of healing. While many of the other ranks do their job simply by scaring off whatever enemy necessary. There are still those who have to fight to protect their duties and when they are injured it is the Orthose they see in order to be healed. While the Orthose does not have to be a unicorn or unicorn hybrid is is required that they have knowledge in the healing arts.

Apatite: the Apatite are another non guardian rank that works in the support role of delievering food, information, etc. To those who are working a guardian job with in the field and can not leave their position.

Fluorine: Yet another non guardian rank it is the Fluorine's job to keep track of things. This includes the lore of the herd, who is holding what position, who is handling which guardianship, who is helping another with certain guardianships. Often there is no more than two or three Fluorines at one time within the herd though their can be more depending on the size of the herd.

Calcite: These are the trainees of the herd they are trained in all non guardianship ranks and how to be a guardian so that they may choose which of the ranks they which to seek as they grow older.

Gypse: This is the rank given to any foal or other member who joins the herd/ is born into the herd but does not wish to seek a rank.

Talc: This is the rank given to love ones of herd members who do not wish to join the herd but support it and their loved ones with in the herd.
