Name meaning: a mark used in ancient texts to mark a word or passage as spurious, corrupt, or doubtful. It represented a dart, or the sharp end of a dagger, symbolizing the skewering or cutting out of dubious matter. The Name was taken on upon losing her foal symbolizing the purifying effects on herself of culling her own weakness.
Personality blurb: She is uncomfortable in situations she doesn’t have the upper hand. Sizing up potential opponents first and then using deceit, poisons and psychological attacks to shift odds in her favor, preferring to ambush or use traps.
She is reasonable for a skin walker and can be convinced of a better use for a target- she will hold off on killing or maiming foes if a good enough case is made for their use in role as a temporary or longer term pet. she is opportunistic and obsessed with culling weakness from herself, and holds others to her own standards.

mystic: a spiritual guru or philosopher- Must be powerful enough to keep a skin walker in check long enough to complete a plot. ideally Machiavellian and manipulative. older and very experienced in deceit.
'Allies'
They can be any race- offer is shared rewards from hunts. Would execute joint raids on a stronger warrior or larger groups. 'alies' is used very loosely meaning little more than "we won't try kill each other on sight, usually." As evil characters- protection of each other outside of raiding would be very rare, set up as a major plot point. With RP starting with the blackmail threat or intimidation while calling in a large enough favor.
Favorite Pet-
looking for charismatic, intelligent and independent pet. Will be Obelus' eyes and ears and act as her messenger where discretion is called for or to mask Obelus' hand in the deal. Ideally has a familiar good for scouting and a strong combatant. She is very picky, expects perfection, and won't tolerate failure. As her favorite minion they would be be too useful to risk excessive physical harm.

The Lost Foal
Obelus has forgotten much of her past and who she was. Including her old name before she became a walker. She knows she had a foal but doesn’t recall any details about it. She assumes the mystic used it in a sacrifice and that it’s long dead. This was not the case, reaching adult age, the orphan has left his native village to find his parents.

Similar she knows the stallion who sired it is still alive, but has forgotten most of him aside from that he’s broken and her disgust with him. Now the foal has found him. How will she react to her past returning to her?
Warping of the Horn:
She has seen the powerful healing magic magic in use by unicorns, and is interested in testing the limits of their healing magic. As well as seeking out means to corrupting it for evil uses. She is seeking a unicorn who is willing to work with her to heighten the sensation of pain in others, as well as incurring testing if it's possible to force improper healing. How will the sociopathic walker react to being told 'no' many times after putting so much energy and sacrifice into her goal?

As well, means to mask her nature to others- openly pursuing potions that mask her true nature better. covering her natural scent for longer periods, make her voice higher or lower, magical dyes for her pelt. She has a secret plan to use herbs during pregnancy to induce controlled mutation toward the breeding of specimens tailored to serve as ideal skin waker pets or minions. (she is willing to test these on herself)

In Need of Healing- No Questions Asked:

Obelus has been injured and is in need of healing from a skilled healer that is willing to work with skin walkers and ask no questions. Deals made on this topic will still be one sided- but slightly less so- due to the dire need of healing making Obelus willing to agree to larger favors and having an obvious and clear benefit. (whether she fulfills them once healed or not is another gamble all together)

History:
As a foal she was prone to obsessions. She went through a Bracken fern phase, compelled to consume the plant. The plant rendered the foal blind, shaky and prone to spasms. she grew up fearful and scared of the world about her. Her one true pleasure was herbalism, she self taught the craft to herself identifying ingredients and their quality through a honed sense of smell. Each plant a star, a point of light keeping back the dark void of monsters and whispering voices. She was reclusive and kept to herself. Trading potions for supplies from traveling herds. eventually, A sweet smelling steed stayed to help after his herd left. sharing with mare her love of plants- and helping her with it. they grew to love each other. He planted her a garden grove - a safe haven. Feeling cared for and had a home. She was happy, until he gave her foal. the pregnancy woke up old daemons, the twitching came back worse than before, leaving her dependent on her mate for basic needs. As well- the whispering voices awoke their tongues. feeding her lies and paranoia, sometimes speaking through her.
their seed started small but grew in an obsession- an omen that the foal would be born blind like herself.
she sought out a mystic, asking for guidance. the she was lead to a native medicine man who told her to seek out her a orchid, and to then return and eat the psychoactive bloom of it . Taking her on a spiritual journey, at the end of it, would be sight. The petals dark, the trip having two themes pain and death. It was through the echoes of death- the mare first saw her world first. her mind - remapping restoring sight. She chose the name Obelus to represent the culling of her own weakness' - attachment the spirit visions purifying effects on herself.
Her mate- seeing the monster in place of his mare tried to save her- and coax the location of their foal out her. but his efforts were in fruitless. She toyed with him for a short while, pretending to improve. fake glimmers, acting increasingly as she remembered herself to have once been. Moments of 'recovery' sandwiched between tormenting him for his the smallest infraction. Drawing him back each time he tried to leave. Until he was so worn down he didn't try to leave anymore. Then she dropped the act all together.
Obelus went on a great number of impulsive trip to the hot springs, reveling in her newfound sight. abandoning her mate for weeks at a time to visit exotic locations. Her last trip returning as a bear walker with only sparse memory of the last few trips. The new skin walker declaring the broken stallion a pet. Her games of mental torment reaching it's crescendo. she began toInflicting pain each time addressed by her old name or mentioned the foal. Until both was were struck from his memory. He was finally let go after prolonged mental and physical torture. Whole of body (mostly), but under burden of Broken mind and crushed spirit.
