	Yueyun didn't go back to the den right away. Instead he walked for a time, attempting to get his thoughts in order, trying to slow his breathing back to normal. With only minimal success, he gave up and headed home. If the Great Lion was good, he'd be able to get some sleep and put everything in perspective when he woke. Crossing the threshold, he flopped down in his usual spot. With a thousand-yard stare through the wall and the occasional shiver running over him, he tried to wait for sleep to claim him. But snippets of talk kept running through his mind...

	Liuhe was, as usual, in a cheerful mood. He had no idea about the goings-on with the hunters that night, though he did notice that things were especially quiet around the pride-- or he might have, if he stopped to really think about it. He was enjoying himself, but not so much as he did when he could find other lions. It was a strange feeling, being so alone. He didn't think too much on it, though, and he decided to head home after a night of wandering conveniently far from where the strike was taking place. He arrived home, yawning as he entered, wondering at the quiet. "Where is everybody tonight?" he asked aloud, not realizing his brother was home.

	Yueyun lifted his head and simply stared at his eldest brother while he tried to piece together an answer. His brother looked like he hadn't a care in the world, as usual. He envied that. It felt like a start contrast to the turmoil he found himself in now. Eventually he settled for, "The hunters are on strike tonight. That accounts for them, at least."

	"Ah!" Liuhe nearly jumped out of his fur when Yueyun spoke. He had assumed himself to be entirely alone, which was unusual any other day but seemed to be the way of the night today. He stared at his brother when he said that the hunters were on strike. He made a face, frowning. "Why would they do that?" he wondered aloud, suddenly realizing that he was hungry.

	"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." Even as he spoke, Yueyun wondered how many of his siblings were as unaware of the pride's discontent as Liuhe was...as he had been. Was his father really that unconcerned with potential rebellion? Or was there some deeper game being played? "The pride...they're not happy with Father. Some think that he'll bring the Great Lion's wrath down on us, and others just want him gone." His voice broke a little, tormented. He stared down at his paws as though they were suddenly fascinating, but his eyes were still distant. "The reason for that...you know the history." Doubtless Liuhe had accepted it as just history as he had, but it seemed the past was not so far gone. Another shiver ran over his purple pelt. A brutal coup, for the sake of...of...he still couldn't quite wrap his head around it, not yet. The thought was just too terrible to articulate.

	Liuhe blinked at the Yueyun's terrible revelation. Was he surprised about that? He couldn't be sure. His brother was right, he knew the history.. what his brother didn't know was that Liuhe, as heir to a usurper, had already felt the impact of that history. He was happy and carefree of his own accord, but he knew both of his parents kept an eye on him, waiting for that facade to crack and reveal another brutal lion willing to commit patricide to seek power. He'd never been too bothered by it, his parents were hardly the affectionate type and he had no interest in the throne yet, so he was safe. He might be aware of the danger he was in and presented to his parents but he never truly felt it. He'd never thought about how the pride might feel about what happened, though. "They think the Great Lion is unhappy with the King so they're planning to starve everybody?" he asked, "Isn't that worse?"

	Yueyun shook his head. "No, that's not right. It's..." He frowned, thinking, then nodded. "Yes. Just tonight." It was hard to remember being told that, after all that had come after, but he did remember it. Standing abruptly, he began pacing in a small area, tail twitching. "It's a message...no, a warning. They are confident enough, numerous enough, to do this regardless of his attention. And they believe that they are in the right." Unspoken was the and I am not sure that they are wrong.

	Liuhe wrinkled his nose and thought about what Yueyun said. It was a message.. and it was quite the message when the purple lion laid it out like that. He knew his father and a few dissenters would not do well, they had to know that. That, and the worried look on Yueyun's face, meant this was as serious as it seemed. He was already exhausted just thinking about it. His confused expression turned serious. "Where is Father? And Mother?" he asked, looking around, "Do they know yet?"

	There wasn't a lot that got through his brother's easygoing nature, Yueyun knew. From his suddenly serious expression, this did. Another layer of distress added to the turmoil in his gut. And at the next question...he paused, swallowing hard as he scrambled to come up with an answer. "Not yet," he managed. "I...thought they might be here." It was a pathetic lie, but it was better than 'I hoped I could sleep it off and it would be less of a Thing when I woke up, and by then someone else would have told them.'

	The prince could feel his the peace and quiet of his daily life slipping away from him the more he spoke with Yueyun. His parents didn't know yet but they would, and their reaction would be swift and, very probably, violent. With a heavy sigh, he sat down beside his brother. "Well, this isn't good," he said, "Doesn't sound like something dad can handle." Was it going to be a long fight to stay where they were? If it was a fight, did they stand a chance?? Or.. was this their last night in charge? With that question in mind, he rose again. "I have to find them," he said.

	"Alright." Yueyun rested his head on his paws again, though his troubled expression boded ill for his chances of rest. Worried red eyes looked up at his brother. "Just...be careful, Liuhe. It's hard to say what they'll do next." Was he referring to his parents, or the rebels? Perhaps both.

	Liuhe's resolve wavered a bit as Yueyun rested his head on his paws, clearly planning to stay right where he was. Was it safe to stay here? Yueyun was the bearer of bad news and he seemed to feel safe hiding out here, so he would just have to trust his brother on that. "Don't go anywhere," he said, "I'll be back soon, I promise." He didn't know where he'd find his parents or in what state, but he had a few ideas of where to start- for once, he was glad his mother had insisted on him shadowing his father and grandfather. He would worry about what a rebellion meant after he was sure his parents were OK, after he was sure the world hadn't gone completely upside down on him. Without another word, he left Yueyun and the safety of the den.
