[Round 1] Urazth Dhatri vs. Citlali Galvquodi

It was Citlali's first Sky Ceremony Duel. He'd seen some, sure, but this was the first year he had been convinced to participate in the event. To be honest, he was quite nervous, but he managed to keep his trembling to a minimum! What better thing to do to face your fears than to face them head on? Right?

The blue-purple lion took a deep breath to ground himself. It was now or never. His first duel! Perhaps he would make it past the first round, but then again... who knows what the outcome will be!

ahhhhhh sorry for the wait, was working all weekend eek

Urazth grinned as he approached Citlali for their duel. he was not nervous at all as he had managed to get 3rd place last year and was a little over cocky about it. giving a bow of his head to Citlali, he was more than ready to get started. " may the best lion win." smirking, he had high hopes that he would do at lest as good as he had done last year. he could only hope he wouldn't become a sore loser if he lost.

Citlali nodded a bit at his opponent. He drew second position, so it was for Urazth who would have make the first move. He felt the anticipation pulse painfully in his chest. He had seen Urazth fight he previous year - he had seen how far the other had gotten.

Maybe he would have beginners luck, but as it was, he doubted it a little. Well, he would give it a shot, watching and waiting for the other to make a move. Maybe he'd be able to dodge the first blow...

Urazth would never admit he felt he had gotten beginners luck last year with how far he made it. but he would love to think he had some skill as a fighter and wanted to prove it by attempting to win this year. wasting no more time he sprung into action and decided to take a heavy swing at the other lion in hopes to spring them into action as well. after all they were not here to chit chat and be buddies. though he was hoping to maybe make a friend or two during the festival but now wasn't the time or place.

Citlali watched the other lion carefully, waiting for the other make a move a moment longer. He didn't quite expect the speed at which the other moved, and the blow landed harshly.

The blue-purple lion yelped, dancing backwards a bit before moving forward to launch his own attack. He lunged forward towards Urazt, hoping to land his own blow.
