Name: Sutseki
Age: 19
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Demisexual (Pan)
Craft: Craftless
Rank: Weyrbrat
Location: High Reaches
Physical Description: Strawberry blond hair, green eyes, and fair skinned. Sutseki’s features are classically elegant except for her mouth which is just a tad too large. She is tall too, too tall according to some, and curvy.

Personality: Sutseki is appreciative of the finer things in life, as little as she has. She cherishes the good times, and acknowledges the bad though doesn’t dwell on them. However she is cynical about others, distrusting their motives and being suspicious of actions. She thinks before she speaks and is prone to trying to stimulate conversations and thoughts of the other side of the argument. Disciplined in her actions, she takes care in what she does and always attempts to follow through on what she says she will do. Her personality can be a bit forceful, though she sees it as guiding others. It does lead to meddling in the affairs of others, to help them. However she is secretive in many of her beliefs and motivations as she does not trust High Reaches to agree with her.

History: Sutseki was born in the High Reaches Weyr and pretty much left ignored by her parents that were too busy living their own lives to care for a child. That was what the help was for after all. Sutseki desired recognition by her parents though and every time she was rebuffed, she became more cynical about the world. Eventually she stopped trying, instead focusing on her age group. She became defiant of the need for recognition in defence, and began to guide others, or force others, into her design of the world. She kept quiet about the growing doubts she had about the hierarchy of High Reaches, but was quietly defiant in her actions, disciplined enough to never quite go too far.

She had friends, often those that were less able to look out for themselves, and would watch as the older ones became candidates and the lucky impressed. She always appreciated those that did not fall into the simple ways of life and actually made something of themselves. It helped her believe that she could too, even in the despairing hours.

Those hours became more frequent as she began to age beyond her peers in waiting for a dragon to choose her. Sutseki was patient but worried as she reached 18. It felt as though she had been a candidate for forever. She continued in her vein of live, guiding those that came into High Reaches as candidates from other places, and teaching the special ones the way to work the system.

When thread fell, and many of those same peers died fighting, she cried for days in secret, and in public was stoic to the point that others began to think she did not care. It wasn’t their place to know what she was feeling. Even though she got the cold shoulder from others, she didn’t trust them to not use her weakness against her.

There was no question about her continues as a candidate. It was clearly her purpose and why she was waiting still for her perfect dragon.

Other: She greatly enjoys creating floral arrangements. She loves the changes that they go through during their transient life.

Candidate Specific Questions
Do you want them to have an official Search RP? No
Do you understand they will age every passing year regardless if you're there to RP the or not? Yes
Do you want them to have a possible Stands Impression? No
- - - > Please keep in mind that Stands Impressions are very rare. This means that not everybody will get an opportunity to have a surprise Impression, and you lower your chances of being picked by a dragonet. Given the character is not ICly an official Candidate, they will need a reason to be at the Weyr of their choice long-term, or at least for every Hatching.

I have been thinking on things to add, and can't come up with anything specific. Let me know if you think she needs more! Thanks!

So, I'm a little confused about Sutseki's bitterness and anger. Any child born in a Weyr whose parents don't raise them will be fostered. Fostering is very big in Weyrs because it means not only does the child not lack in love or affection (as dragonriders used to have to tend to dragons and fight Thead) and also made it easier in case a dragonrider was killed. Which was also common.

If Sutseki's parents ignored or neglected her, then she would have been fostered.

I'm also not sure why her parents would purposefully and continuously rebuff her? Dragonriders are, if nothing else, empathetic. While we do have men and women who are older, colder, and maybe distant, I'm just not sure why her parents are so self-centered or neglectful?

Additionally how does she teach Candidates to work the system? What does that mean exactly? Candidates are all treated equally, and are put on a routine. So I'm not sure what sort of system she's trying to work? yum_cupcake If you could go into more detail about that, that would be good.
