Kahini was walking along slowly as Po walked a little bit ahead, it was early morning and the two of them had decided to walk around the outskirts of the pride. They had taken a habit of walking around and looking for outsiders to talk to, perhaps hear their stories. It was sort of a thing they did together now. It was nice. Though Kahini was feeling a little sluggish today, she had been up most of the night cause of one of her visions. Po knew something had been bothering her but didn't want to bug her about it. Taking a glance back he gave her a smile, "Perhaps we'll meet someone interesting today." That would brighten her mood.

"You're so slow, Seph! Step lively!" The lioness punctuated her call by hip-checking the waterbuck at her side. He stumbled - as she knew he would - sending the leather pack on his back to raucous jangling. The pack was nearly half the size of the buck, and brimming with all manner of things his master had to offer. The smell of herbs wafted from a number of pouches, each of them brimming with green. Crafted items of all sorts were affixed to the leather. Antlers and bones strapped here and there jostled against each other, joining in the joyful noise.

Ieva skipped alongside the mess, darting in to correct Seph's stance before trotting away again. A little fun and games were all good, certainly, but she didn't want to harm the goods! "Ho, the couple, there!" She called out, grinning at the potential patrons in her path. "Fancy perusing some exotic wares?" Seph, for his part, sighed and bore his burden stoically.

It wasn't long after he spoke that a friendly voice called out and the two turned their heads to look upon the pale female and her companion. Kahini had seen waterbucks before but never from this distance and she peered at it curiously and then smiled at the lioness. "I would be curious to see what you have." While she didn't have anything to trade, she knew there were those in the pride that did.

Po was pleased for the new faces, he was hoping this was just what was needed to turn her mood around.

Ieva purred, winking at the pair as she sauntered closer. "We have all manner of things, my dear. After anything in particular?" The pale lioness was a blur of movement, bouncing back toward the still-approaching waterbuck. She lifted flaps to show off some contents, and drew attention to others with a flick of a violet-tipped tail.

"A poultice for headache, perhaps? A hood for the sun," she gestured briefly to Kahini, "to protect your sensitive sight? Perhaps some lovely beads for the handsome fellow's mane?" Ieva showed off a number of beads woven into Seph's scruff as evidence to her words, with the waterbuck obliging her with a shake of his head, sending the pretty baubles a-tinkle. Her brows lifted in Po's direction appraisingly before returning to the other lioness. "Or a lovely flower, perhaps, to bring out the rosy color of your eyes." From a pack of herbs, the lioness produced a pink lily, its center streaked with sunny yellow. Though obviously aged, the bloom still appeared to retain much of its vibrant color.

He was curious to see what she had indeed. The pair watched as the duo showed a variety of items and trinkets. Kahini did like the beads, though she wasn't sure Po would want to adorn his hair with such things, but one didn't know. "Those beads are nice." Kahini said inspecting the beads woven. Though she currently had nothing on her to trade. She was rather lacking when it came to posessions. "Will you be in the area long?"

She was hoping the lioness would be around for a bit, perhaps it would give her time to acquire things to trade with. Plus she could let others know there was a merchant in the area with some very fine wares. "You have quite the collection. Did it take long to acquire it all?" He asked her.

Curious faces did Ieva's heart good - and not just because they were good for business. Her paws returned to the beads at the other female's admission, the corners of her muzzle turning up in a coy smile. "I can certainly make a point of staying around, if need be," she admitted. It wasn't exactly pulling her leg to do so, and she said as much. "I never mind putting myself in a path of a good trade.

"Speaking of which - might you be members of the nearby pride?" Though she hadn't been just here before, she had heard about quite the sizable grouping of lions 'round this way on her travels. If these two knew more about them, she would be even more willing to remain. There was very little better for bountiful exchange than a concentrated area, after all.

Seph was the one to look toward the pink-eyed stranger, blinking somewhat sheepishly as he smiled. "We have traveled all across the lands. Always roving." His voice was soft, quite obviously shy in the face of the pair of predators. Ieva flicked her tail reassuringly against his leg, however. Dipping his black-edged horns, he continued. "We trade with all manner of creatures, large and small. We have been years at the exchange."

"Wouldn't change it for a moment, though," his like-colored master chimed in. The waterbuck, having said his piece, just smiled his assent.

"Oh yes, that would be wonderful." Kahini was excited at the prospect of this trader staying around for a time. That would give her an opportunity to get some things together and perhaps let some of the other members know there was a trader. It would be good to get some items to wear. "We are, did you want to stay for a bit, as a guest?" He offered to her with a warm smile. It was clear to see with the items she had in stock that she had been at this for a while. He was sure there were a number that would be more than happy to obtain a trinket or two from the pretty lady and her companion. "What is your names? I am Pophyrios and this is Kahini."

Pophyrios' offer seemed to take the duo by surprise. Lioness and familiar blinked at the other pair for a second, then at each other. Each was fairly certain their counterpart shared their thought: had they ever been guests of a pride before?

The merchant took it upon herself to break their stupor. "If that's possible, then we would be honored to accept." For the first time since her arrival, her voice came gentler. Her reply held less than the showstopping bravado used to attract customers and peddle her stock. Both the words and the gratitude behind them, however, were genuine; maybe even more so without the grandeur.

Seph snickered at the change apparent in the normally boisterous lioness. However brief, these moments made all the traveling worth it. "Thank you, very much," he addressed the pair, humbly dipping his horns toward them once more. The gesture had the air of a bow, or at least the closest the waterbuck could come to one, burdened as he was. "My mistress is Ieva, and my name is Seph. We would be more than happy to thank you and your pride for the hospitality."

"It is most definitly possible." Kahini said with a smile, strangers were welcome in their midst. Plus they would be escorted at all times by the duo. So they wouldn't really be left alone. "Of course, it is our pleasure," Po said. "It is wonderful to have gotten this chance to know the two of you, Ieva and Seph." He added.

"If the two of you would be so kind enough to follow us we can take you into the pride and show you a spot where you can stay and rest." Kahini gave a nod for them to follow her. Po would take up the lead, not that they had any major worries about the pair. It would be nice to show them their home though.

Though she jerked her head toward the pair, indicating they follow, Seph knew that Ieva did so more out of habit than anything. They had traveled together more than long enough for such tells to become unnecessary. Still, he nodded in response and trotted in the lions' wake, suddenly very mindful of the pack bearing all of their goods. The bundle was a noisy thing, which was fine out on their lonesome. But would it become a nuisance here in the pride? The last thing he wanted was to draw too much attention to himself...especially if that attention was coming from a bunch of annoyed lions.

Sufficiently recovered from her surprise, Ieva chuckled. "Why don't you wait to decide how much a pleasure we are until we've spent more time together?" She was purring as she padded between the pair, though. "We were certainly lucky to run into you, though. Lead on, dear ones. I quite agree: this may be the start of a wonderful friendship." If not that, then it did seem like it had the potential to be a lovely working relationship at least. That was reason enough to come along - the potential for more was just a particularly tasty perk.
