CHILDHOOD Dylan was born to a pretty normal family in Dublin though unfortunately he was an only child. As such, he was pretty coddled as a child and allowed to take interests in whatever caught his eye as long as it wasn't dangerous and didn't cause permanent damage to the house. Around the time he was starting secondary, his parents relocated to Kenmare due to a rise in real estate. Both parents were agents and thought that the picturesque town would be perfect for more business and for raising their son.

SCHOOL YEARS

Starting over in a new school where everyone had pretty much known everyone else their entire life had been pretty difficult. Luck was on his side since he was new and had interesting tales of his home back in Dublin that no problems started straight away. He joined a few clubs and made a handful of friends and before he knew it, Dylan had graduated and gotten accepted into a top university. While there he kept in touch the the small group of students also from Kenmare, the most important being Bridgett Donoghue. He had always sort of fancied her but had been too awkward to really try anything when they were in their small town. But once they were away he bucked up the courage to formally ask her out after their first year there and he was ecstatic when she agreed. They dated the rest of their college career and were making plans for afterwards when they had a surprise upset. Ok so, he didn't like to call her getting pregnant an "upset" but it seemed to fit when he was younger. So they got married after Bridgett's graduation and moved into a small flat back in Kenmare. It was a struggle for him to take his last semester mostly online due to working and providing for his new family but he was finally able to graduate but put a hold on following into law school. Instead, he found a decent job as a paralegal at a local firm just outside of town.

POST GRADUATION Life seemed pretty idyllic except one thing kept bothering him. He'd seen the way his wife and her family seemed to bare down on her younger brother and he coudln't for the life of him understand why. Adam was quiet and a little bit weird (he really couldn't judge though) but he couldn't understand why they talked so harshly about him until his wife explained about his supposed sexual proclivities. Here Dylan was at a bind since he'd discovered for himself that he was bisexual during his first year of college having an on-off type relationship with a male. He truly loved his wife but he knew he would most likely lose her and his son if he said anything, so against his better judgement he kept quiet. However, after her brother had graduated and moved out, his conscious couldn't keep him stagnant any longer and he began reaching out to Adam to make amends and possibly become friends. It was awkward at first since the young man hadn't exactly believed he was actually serious about getting closer (he'd had one too many close calls with his boss threatening unspeakable things with a frosting bag and a carving knife) but slowly but surely he came around. He even explained to Dylan that he wasn't actually gay but asexual and while he didn't get it at first, he figured that he would just follow the other's lead and be there for him. And if that included good-natured embarrassment at attempting to help him flirt, so be it. Things took a turn for the worst though when a gossiping busybody managed to find out he had been going to and taking his son to Adam's place of employment, something strictly taboo with his wife and inlaws and squealed to his wife. That night when he got home he was met with furious accusations of betrayal and misconduct and, well, he finally exploded. He yelled back about how Bridgett was being a close-minded bint and other things he had kept close to his chest before finally throwing in the figurative towel hours later and storming out to sleep off the fight at his parent's home nearby. In the morning, he went back with the intent to apologize and possibly come to a middle ground when he was met with a still frustrated wife and visible bruises on his son. Livid, Dylan went right back to arguing managing to finally throw out that he himself was bisexual and was met with more crazed screaming and even smacks and pushes. Fed up, he packed his clothing as well as his son's and left to stay with his parents and formally handle his divorce. Thankfully, it didn't take as long as he'd feared, having shown evidence of her attack on their child and her unstable manner he was granted full custody of Reece along with child support. He might've rubbed that fact in a little too hard but whatever. He was tired of living the way he had for the past eight years and finally quit his job and decided to do something he'd dreamed of doing before he started dating his ex: he was going to become a brewmaster. Well, technically he was still licensed (he got it right before he graduated and kept it up to date) but he just needed to start making actually drinks. So now Dylan's focusing on creating perfect whiskeys, paired wines, and being a good single father.

After moving, Dylan met someone named Sasha who he saw as a bit (more than a bit) out of his league both romantically and age wise or so he first thought. But it seemed this was only his thoughts as they took it upon themselves show him how wrong he was. They worked an odd nocturnal schedule which he couldn't judge in the slightest but was rather annoying at times to work around. An obvious big plus had been the fact that Reece adored Sasha and after some talks was perfectly fine with them dating and even occasional weekend visits from them.

Years moved on in this fashion until 2047 when Dylan found himself diagnosed with a rather intricate nerve disorder that was affecting his brain. After speaking to multiple specialists, he was told he'd have maybe a year or so with treatment to live which had him racing against an invisible clock to get all his affairs in order. One of which being how he was going to tell Sasha and how to possibly in a totally legal way ask them to possibly kidnap his son to avoid his custody being placed with his ex-wife. Instead of a frank morbid discussion, Sasha informed him that they were in fact a vampire and could just turn him solving a majority of his problems. Dylan was a bit skeptical but when faced with all the facts, he admits to being maybe partially blind to've not seen it. Later when telling Reece he'd been befuddled when the teen actually reprimanded him for waiting so long before asking Sasha as well as being a little chided when the teen went on admonishing him for not seeing the facts clearer. He had not been amused at Sasha's and Dante's obvious enjoyment. Still, after informing his son and getting new affairs in order, Dylan was bitten in 2048 and became a vampire and has since been adjusting.

CHILDHOOD Reece was born a surprise to his young barely out of college parents, Dylan and Bridgett. His primary care came from his parents the first few years but once they started working full time, he spent more of his time being shuffled between his two grandparents' homes. Most of his early life he spent being spoiled and coddled due to being the first, and possibly only, grandchild as well as being instructed on how to act. His maternal grandparents didn't like when he kept questioning almost everything or that he hated getting his hair cut. The wind just felt wrong and weird when it blew in his ears. As he got older, he stopped being so coddled by his mum and her parents and started being told how to feel or how to do things, some of it he really didn't understand but when he questioned them he would get yelled at or sometimes popped on the behind. When he would tell his mum about it, she said just stop questioning or he'd keep getting popped or worse. When Reece tried to tell his daddy, his mum stopped him saying that he would agree and even get mad he was tattling. So he sucked it up and settled for writing down his questions since they never said anything against that.

Around the time he was four, his daddy started taking him to visit his uncle Adam in secret since his mummy and her parents didn't like him for some reason. He didn't understand why considering he was awesome! And he worked in a candy store! And he had really pretty artwork on his arms that he really liked tracing and trying to copy in his notebook. During the past summer, he bragged to one of his friends about just how cool his uncle was (following an impromptu trip wherein they looked for cool pretty rocks) and their parent overheard telling his mum and her parents. Reece hadn't understood why it was such a big deal until he and his dad went home that night and everything turned really scary. His parents argued basically all night with him confused and crying and when his daddy left, he went to try asking his mum about it and she slapped him! She told him it was his fault and his uncle's fault and she kept shaking and hitting him and he was so confused and scared that he kept still taking it and crying. He didn't remember when she finally left him alone so he could go running to his bedroom, or when morning finally came. He did know when his dad finally came home so he went rushing towards him hoping he could make sense of everything but quickly got scared when he got mad as well and thought it really must've been him. Thankfully this wasn't the case since his daddy went to yell at his mum for hitting him and they argued even worse than the night before, she even hit him too! After that, his daddy packed up everything and took them to stay with his grandparents (Dylan's parents) while he settled, or something like that. All he knew was that he didn't ever have to go with his mummy and no more haircuts! Reece is still confused on what could've made his mum and his other grandparents so mad, but he figures some people are just crazy and left it at that.

Reece and his dad moved closer to his uncle and far away from his other relatives as they settled into their new normal. One of the things that definitely became new was his dad's newest significant other. Sasha was different in a really awesome way and he was happy his dad was obviously happy with them. Plus they knew allot of history which definitely helped with some of his assignments. Soon though, a few things just didn't start adding up or rather they added up to an entirely different equation which had him on day 99% sure that Sasha was in fact a vampire. This was only helped meeting more of Sasha's friends who were just as odd as he was. But he didn't really mind plus he was sure they knew that he kinda knew and hadn't really said anything to contradict it so he figured that was enough.

However out the blue, his dad moved them to England not making any sense and then dropped the bomb that he was dying. Like dying dying not hungover dying. Reece had been afraid but mostly incensed that his dad hadn't asked his own partner to change him yet like, what had he been waiting for?! When he told him as such, his dad had been flummoxed and stammered through his explanations that he apparently hadn't known until recently (he had needed 3 hot chocolates to deal with that tidbit) and he was indeed being turned. Seeing no other crisis other than having to now feed himself in the morning, Reece is settling in nicely to his new life.

SCHOOL YEARS

Reece rather liked his school; it was very laid back and focused more on individual learning which he liked. Especially since it allowed him to finish and start lessons on his own time. He joined a club called the Rainbow club that helps kids of divorce or difficult living situations and he's really enjoyed helping kids younger and older than him. When he was in his preteens, he and his dad moved from Ireland to England which had him starting at a new school. The uniform was stuffier than his previous one and he's not that thrilled about the required religious course but he enjoys the extra classes and clubs. He had debated joining circus for their quality face paints and his only con had been having to deal with a handful of clowns each meeting. And he means this very literally. Ultimately he joined for a semester to get a feel and then promptly quit since it took a bit too much of his free time and dedicated more towards the discovery club and his unofficial role as a guidance counselor. Over the course of his school years, he managed to befriend several magical teens mostly thru his unorthodox online forums asking for help on getting to diagon alley. He got some weirdos but of them he managed to find some that were actually rather cool.


POST GRADUATION Reece graduated from secondary and applied and got into a pretty nice college located in Manchester and though decided to live on campus to get a small taste of independence (plus the commute was no joke). He's settled in rather nicely and has resisted the offerings to scare his roommates in case they do anything offending which truly the worst they've done is leave bad food in the fridge which he thinks is just a college staple so he just deals with it.
