He often looks at things matter-of-factly and considers every angle when making decisions. He's also not one to make flights of fancy often, though he does show instances of it on occasion. ◊ STABLE Folami is also quite stable, not really prone to emotional outbursts. He tends to remain calm in stressful situations, and rarely lets his emotions get the better of him. ◊ FRIENDLY Folami is actually rather friendly, making friends with ease and approaching new people with a smile. Originally from a small town in Nigeria, he, along with his brother Lanre, were raised in a very loving home. Folami's father worked for the Nigerian Ministry of Magic and his mother worked as a Healer. Most of Folami's childhood was spent wandering wround his town, exploring places and dreaming of far-off lands. Lanre used to tease often that his brother's head was in the clouds, but Folami argued he did his best thinking when he was wandering. Eventually he got his Dream Messenger informing him he'd been accepted to Uagadou, which both his parents and Folami were excited about. SCHOOL YEARS For the most part, Folami's time in school was pretty tame. Sure, there were the occasions where he got into trouble and had to serve detention, but Folami prospered and did well in his studies. By the time he was about to graduate, he'd already met and fallen in love with Ayodele Adebayo, a girl in the same year as him. Her parents didn't exactly approve of her dating before she graduated, however, causing Folami and Ayodele to keep their relationship quiet. POST GRADUATION Folami was already convinced that his future wasn't in Africa years before he ever attended Uagadou, but it wasn't until he'd graduated and looked at his options in Nigeria that he realized how true that was. He wanted to explore, and his parents initially didn't approve of his life goals. Lanre often told Folami that his head was still stuck in the clouds, and his parents finally agreed with him. However, Folami decided to take a leap of faith and decided to spend the first year he had out of school traveling. Ayodele, herself a dreamer, went with him, disappointing her own family in the process, but she later told Folami that just being stuck in the same place all her life wouldn't do her any favours, and she wanted to see what else was out there. Folami and Ayodele traveled to many places all over the world in their first year together, and it was during that year that he finally found the place that he believed he could spend the rest of his life. While much colder than his homeland, he and Ayodele settled down in London. Folami applied to go into the Witch Watchers around that time, while Ayodele went to work in the Portkey Office. It was around this time that Folami met Laurie, and the two hit it off immediately. They became fast friends, and the two became nearly inseparable. Folami eventually proposed to and married Ayodele, and things went smoothly for a while. However, two years after the birth of their daughter Omolara, Laurie went missing. At first Folami assumed that Laurie had gotten sick, but he went to investigate his home and found the place cleared out. He proceeded to investigate Laurie's disappearance and was forced to conclude that Laurie had vanished without a trace along with his wife. Their son, Parker, had been left with Folami and Ayodele for the day for a playdate with their daughter, and the two decided to have a discussion about Parker's future. They both agreed that just sending Parker away wasn't the best option, not when the boy didn't know anyone outside of his own family and the Soyinkas, so the couple decided to expand their own family by one when they adopted Parker. Folami, however, refused to believe that Laurie could just disappear like that. He continued investigating his friend's disappearance, coming across false leads and rumors that only led to dead ends. Laurie's wife had virtually disappeared, and Folami worried what that meant for her. It was the most bizarre disappearance that anyone in the office had ever encountered, and Folami was determined to get to the bottom of it. However, Folami was forced to stop focusing on the disappearance when Ayodele grew ill. She had miscarried previously in the year, and something had gone wrong during the miscarriage that continued to affect Ayodele. She ended up passing away, and Folami ended up throwing himself into his work. Gone were his ideas that moving to England had been a good move, and Folami ended up briefly flirting with the idea that he should move back to Nigeria with his children. However, it wasn't long after that when Parker got his letter to Hogwarts. Folami wasn't surprised, but he was surprised by the fact that his daughter wanted to attend Hogwarts as well. Born in England, he spent just three short years with his biological family before they vanished from his life. His father was a Witch Watcher, while his mother was a muggle. Unfortunately no one quite knows what happened to Parker's family, only that his father disappeared from his post and his mother vanished from their home. However they disappeared, Parker had been visiting with a friend of the family and their young daughter that day. Folami and his wife had been having a play date with him, and when news reached them about what had happened, Folami decided to have a serious discussion with his wife. Laurie had been Folami's partner, and the fact that he'd disappeared so suddenly had him worried about what had actually happened. As a result, he and Ayodele decided to adopt Parker. Parker's family as a result grew, as he had no known relatives. Growing up alongside their young daughter, Parker never really felt out of place. He found himself fully enjoying the fact that his adoptive parents even cared to include him in their lives, and embraced their culture as a part of his own. As a result, he often visited his adopted family in Nigeria alongside his parents and sister. However, he didn't get a chance to spend much time with his adopted mother, as Ayodele passed away the year he turned ten. When he finally got his letter to Hogwarts, he was both excited and nervous. He wasn't going to be able to travel with his family as often, and he was definitely of the opinion that Omolara's letter couldn't come fast enough. SCHOOL YEARS ◊ FIRST YEAR Parker was nervous about his sorting, but he was placed in Hufflepuff. He had a quiet year, but sent many letters home to his sister to let her know how Hogwarts was. ◊ SECOND YEAR Second year saw Parker watch his sister come to Hogwarts and be sorted. He also made a few new friends, though he couldn't say that he did much more beyond that. ◊ THIRD YEAR Third year Parker was busy with school and new electives, and therefore he didn't do as much as he would have liked. ◊ FOURTH YEAR Fourth year Parker was pretty happy just to sit back and relax. He finally found his groove with classes, and even though he knew that OWLs were right around the corner, he wasn't going to stress over them until they were going to happen. ◊ FIFTH YEAR Fifth year, Parker was named prefect. Prefect! He couldn't believe it, and neither could his friends. He grudgingly took the position and dealt with it along with OWLs, hoping that the teachers weren't daft enough to name him Head Boy. ◊ SIXTH YEAR The summer before sixth year was... Well, it could have gone better, though only because of one event. He, Lena, and Abby were out in London so that Parker could grab a present for Lena, only to suddenly find himself in the middle of magical creature center when some guy released a bunch of creatures into a crowded street. Luckily Parker and his friends were uninjured, but it wasn't a great time. She was two when her older brother came into her life permanently, and the two have been close since. She spent much of her young years traveling between England and Nigeria, the land of her parents' birth, and as such feels a deep connection with her roots. When she was nine, however, she lost her mother. Lara threw herself into whatever she could get her hands on, and watched as her father dealt with the challenges that came from becoming a single father. She matured quite a bit in that time, and when her brother went off to attend Hogwarts, she wanted to go too. However, she had to wait until she was old enough, and when she herself got her letter, she was ecstatic. SCHOOL YEARS ◊ FIRST YEAR Lara was sorted into Ravenclaw, and made some friends in her house. She also had to deal with her brother and his occasional pranking. ◊ SECOND YEAR Second year was quiet, though Lara was busy with keeping up with her studies. Otherwise the year was pretty quiet. ◊ THIRD YEAR Third year was much like first and second, with Lara concentrating on her studies and ignoring as best she could the antics of her yearmates and brother.
