Meera looked around curiously, more than intrigued by everything and anything around her. There were pride members milling around, some heading to work and some just enjoying the day. Some were even digging into that drink that Iwa had mentioned. Brew, she called it. She still hadn't come across iboga though, and the cheeton wondered what it looked like. Perhaps she'd even seen it already, and hadn't even known.
She was walking at the moment, but had slowed down at observe a group of lions laughing together. Shaking her head, Meera hurried to catch up to her tour guide.
"Everyone's really cheerful here." She hummed happily, "It must be nice living here, uhm..." Oh crap, what was his name? Iwa had introduced them before she'd had to leave. "Uh... Minza, was it?"

 Minza had been a bit surprised that Iwa had sought him out to give their visitor a tour but at the same time was flattered. She must have thought he was friendly or knowledgeable enough about the pride despite not having been born here to show the young cheeton around. He glanced down at Meera as she trotted alongside him, taking two steps for every one of his.
"Yes, that's right," he said with a little nod. "And yes, that's sort of what this pride is about. Eating, drinking, and being happy. It's a nice change from most prides, I think," he said with a weak laugh. His home pride hadn't been very welcoming to any other than lions and even then males weren't really allowed to stay for long. Other prides he had hesitantly checked out seemed too combative, too secretive, or too...well. Evil.
"Was there anywhere specific you wanted to see?" he asked, unsure if Iwa had told her about the different Farthings. She had walked all the way through the North so that wasn't something she would want. He hoped she didn't want to see the marshes, but if she did he'd have to suck up his fear of water for at least a little bit.

So far, aside from those few that didn't welcome outsiders within their lands, she had yet to come across any prides that weren't, well, happy, and at his words, she wondered if perhaps she'd just gotten lucky. Ah, well. Hopefully that luck would continue to hold strong.
Meera debated with a long hum. Everything was the real answer, but that was probably too vague. She'd been told about the different Farthings (which she wanted to see), and the Brew (which she wanted to try), and the iboga (which she also wanted to try), but she should probably settle on something specific for the moment.... She just couldn't make up her mind.
"I'm not sure." She cocked her head cutely, "Is there somewhere in specific that you think I should start?" Maybe if she listed out what she had seen already, it would help narrow it down. "I came in from the North Farthing, and it was really pretty. Iwa mentioned that the other Farthings looked different." Her eyes went huge, "I'd love to see all of it."

Minza gave a little nod as Meera spoke, glad she hadn't said South Farthing right off the bat. Maybe he could find someone else to escort her there...or he could just bite his tongue and go with her and just stay far from where the water met the land.
"Let's start with East Farthing then, since you've seen the North," he suggested. It was the direction they were heading in anyway and it was a fairly safe one so long as they stayed away from the river.
"In the East they plant different crops and tend to them until it's time to be re-planted in the North or, in the case of the wheat they grow, used in Brew. It's very lush and pretty," he added, having a fondness for the nice, neat rows that the Farmers planted their crops in. If he hadn't been so terrified of the river they worked by he might have joined their ranks, but as it was he was quite happy being a jack of all trades.

Minza glanced over at Meera as she spoke, trying to gauge how old she was. He had grown up in a pride with just lions and had only recently been exposed to hybrids and he had an incredibly hard time trying to figure out their age. Meera looked like a young lioness to him but he supposed she wouldn't be out and about on her own like this if she wasn't an adult.
"The Brew is actually made and kept in West Farthing, but if you're staying for a few days to see the whole pride you'll surely be offered some at some point," he said with a little nod. "North, East, and South Farthing are where things are grown or cultivated in some way. West Farthing is where Brew is made, where we live, and where Hobbits spend their time."
Hobbits were anyone who didn't want to be a Farmer, a Herder, or a Marsh Wader. They encompassed everything from healers to crafters to cubsitters to story tellers and everything in between. He wasn't too sure what he was, but he knew he'd find his calling eventually.
"It tastes...well. Some of them are flavored to taste like berries or other plants. Plain old Brew tastes...like...wheat, I suppose. It's unlike anything I've tasted before."

Meera listened with attentive ears as he explained Brew, and then nodded emphatically. "I'd like to take my time getting to see the pride and meet others, so I'll probably be here a few days at least." She grinned, "I look forward to trying it! Though, I've never tried wheat before." It's not like she'd ever had the opportunity to do so, after all, and if she had, she honestly wouldn't have thought to eat it.
That little seed had been planted though. Now she was curious what different plants tasted like. She did like berries though! She'd been taught when she was younger which ones she should never eat, and which ones were fine, and she quite enjoyed the good ones. Hopefully that meant she'd find a Brew she liked as well.
She cocked her head as another question came to her, "I've heard that word from Iwa too. Are Hobbits a rank in your pride?" That was one thing she had discovered in her travels thus far - a lot of prides had different ranks and jobs (a vast difference from the Pridelands, she mused). What was interesting was that they were often very similar to each other, but always seemed to have a different title. A 'Hobbit' was one such case of a rank with their own unique name. She liked it, personally. Unique names gave people such an interesting feel.

"I hadn't either prior to joining this pride," Minza said with a nod and a small smile. He could remember his first Brew and how it had knocked him off his paws. It did strange things to his mind and he couldn't remember all of the experience, but as he tried more and got used to it the effects weren't quite as powerful. Meera would need to have a small does since she was so lithe.
"They are," he said with a nod. "They're sort of a jack of all trades. I'm one," he added with a little bob of his head. "Isa, the lioness from earlier, is a Herder. They work in the North, keeping an eye on the herds, keeping out danger, and welcoming visitors. I'd say their job is best suited for joining rogues or other lions that are used to more physical roles. We're heading to the East where the Farmers work, they cultivate the crops and re-plant them in the North. Then in the South you have the Marsh Waders who grow iboga, and there rest are Hobbits."
