The large Cheetah gave a stretch and stood up, shaking the sand from his black and orange pelt. Gaze narrowed as the scent of an unfamiliar hit his nose and he moved quickly in the direction. It wasn't a species that was of his own species, it was a lion. They had a stronger scent, almost spicy sometimes, at least to him. He wasn't sure what others smelled when they caught wind of them but that was what he was smelling now.

Finally she came into view, a white figure with stripes all down her back and he put on a grin. She didn't seem to be wanting to cause any harm, just walking. Likely a traveler, purrfect for some company. It would be a lie if he said he didn't like to get around with the ladies every now and again, and getting with a lioness would definitely be right up his alley. She couldn't stay around anyway so it was unlikely he would ever see her again.

If things went that way. It could just be a normal interact, still he was about to put on a show.

"Are you lost? You've seem to have found yourself upon my clans lands." Even if it was brief these lands were his while they were here.

Faridah was a long, long way from home. Then again, she didn't really have a home anymore. She didn't know where she was, didn't know where her family was, and didn't know where she was going. She was simply going. She didn't remember how to stop anymore. She would wander and wander, sleep, eat, and wander.... What did it feel like to have a home? She remembered, but she couldn't...remember....

The image of her father's face flashed within her mind and tears touched her eyes. She blinked them away, her expression blank. She looked around her. She was in a desert of some kind. The sand was hot and stuck under her claws and dug into her pads and coated her skin in powder. She'd never seen a place like it, but she didn't seem interested. When a voice met her ears, Faridah turned slowly to find its source. A black cheetah with bits of stripes. Something in the lioness felt more at ease at this visual familiarity and she sighed some of her tension away, seeming to connect back to reality.

His clan's...lands.... He was a Sultan? Faridah tilted her head curiously and squinted, thinking. She pulled herself from her thoughts and looked around herself again. Was she lost? She always thought being lost meant one couldn't find one's way. But if she didn't have a place in mind, was she really lost?

Faridah looked back at the male and gave a helpless shrug.

She didn't seem hostile in nature, even if she wasn't a cheetah he wasn't about to just turn her away given her nature. Had she been volatile or even aggressive he wouldn't have thought twice to attack her and drive her away. These scars he wore and the adornments he wore were not because he was a smooth talker.

She didn't say anything and he wondered if she was perhaps, mute? Blinking at her for a moment he took the time to look her over, she was healthy and seemed well off. Perhaps she'd strayed from a group she was with? Flattening his ears for a moment he let the thought pass quickly from his mind.

"My name is Morte, what may I call you by?" Asking for a name might spark a response from her perhaps?

Faridah watched the cheetah closely, as if anxious that his temper would flare suddenly or that he would change his mind. Nothing in his body language turned for the worse, however, and when the lioness saw the male's ears flatten, she relaxed.

Morte. She had never heard a sound like that before. It wasn't a name that was common to the pride she came from. Some of the familiarity she felt towards the cheetah ebbed slightly.

"...Faridah..." the lioness replied, her voice quiet and hesitant. She had been avoiding the male's gaze up until now, but her attention on the dunes ahead wavered and she looked at the black coat, noting the stripes and the scars. That sense of ease washed over her ahead and she softened. She didn't understand why it happened. She didn't understand why she was like this....

As if to answer herself, the lioness gave a clumsy shrug and stared down at her paws.

Just pinging you some love <3<3 -no rush if you have stuff going on. Just making my way through old tags-

Finally she spoke.

"Faridah, are you weary from travel at all? I can escort you towards a nearby water spot if you like?" Flicking his tail behind him he looked her over a little bit, she was easy on the eyes and she still didn't really understand why she was so quiet. Most females he met were chatter boxes, though he had to take into account her past, as that was unknown to him.

Perhaps she had gone through a past trauma? Or even a recent one. She seemed in a slump or some sort of a mood, perhaps there was something he could do to help? Moving a little bit closer he lowered himself a little and moved closer so that he could look up at her now downcast face. "What is upon your mind Faridah?" Perhaps he could get her to talk about it?
