Calla, Candidate at High Reaches Weyr

Basic info cheat sheet:

- 16, 5'9", female, brown eyes, brown hair

- Parental History: Parents were born in Bitra Hold, father obsessed with becoming a dragonrider, moved briefly to Igen Weyr but mother hated it, then moved to High Reaches Weyr, mother started becoming known as a skilled harper, parents had Calla at 19, father finally Impressed bronze, overconfident father died during weyrling training by prematurely traveling between and never emerging, heartbroken and anti-dragon mother moved with Calla to High Reaches Hold, maternal grandfather moved in to help raise Calla

- More Recent History: Mother intended to raise Calla to be a harper and began training her as such, Calla longed for her father and became obsessed with the idea of becoming a dragonrider, mom lost her s**t when Calla told her and forbid it, Thread returned, grandfather who believes in the value of dragons helped Calla concoct a lie to her mother about training to be a harper under an old friend at High Reaches Weyr, Calla instead became a Candidate there

- Personality: Can be a tough, opinionated, and bitchy, but is perceptive and extremely motivated to become a dragonrider, feels a need to prove herself as worthy of many things (respect, a dragon, her mother's love), judges other as harshly as the standards she holds for herself, loyal friend to those she cares for, tends to care for people she respects or who have traits she values, protective of friends, destroyed if a friend were ever to betray her, likely to put her foot in her mouth, sometimes overestimates her intelligence/world-savvy and ends up getting schooled to her utter embarrassment, for the same reason will often take risks that she assumes she can handle (but can't)

Looking for:

- Riders/weyrfolk who may have known her father, or heard the story of the rider who died with his dragon during weyrling training

- Friends or rivals -- I like to assume a teeny bit of backstory versus RPing everything as a first meeting!

- Getting to know you RP where they are doing something annoying like peeling tubers or polishing plates

- A chance for her to interact with dragons, maybe helping their rider with oiling or something else that would give her an opportunity to share

- Harper stuff, she's a decent apprentice, and her mother used to be a harper at High Reaches Weyr like 14 Turns ago -- would be cool if you have a character who might remember her, though this would terrify her since her mother doesn't know she is a Candidate

Basic info cheat sheet:

- 19, 6'3", male, light blue eyes, shaggy black hair sloppily cut, muscular build of a workhorse, crooked nose from too many fights

- Parental History: Born in High Reaches Hold to bakercraft parents, youngest and only son with 7 sisters, unofficially kicked out for causing too many problems at 9, began training in glass-smithcraft at Ista Crafthall, despite his genuine best efforts and love for it was a complete failure, started causing trouble again, kicked out at 16 to Ista Weyr, began work as a beastcraft apprentice, shipped off again via a Searchrider to Western Weyr possibly because they didn't care for him at Ista Weyr either

- More Recent History: Arrived at Western when he was 17, Thread returned, he began to think maybe he would become a dragonrider and started to care about it which was scary for him, has stood for an Impression or two but failed to Impress, figures that will just be his lot in life -- failing at everything, still ends up doing beastcraft work in addition to his Candidate path since it seems there are people who assume that will be where he ends up and he seems to have enough in common with the beasts

- Personality: Tends to be a bit controversial with a large number of people who meet him not caring for him much, quick to fight and argue and run his mouth, has backwards opinions like judging Western for having a greenrider Weyrwoman and being a touch homophobic, like seriously he is not a great fit at Western, actually cares about being a Candidate though he hides it and does not want to admit his disappointment at being passed over like he feels he always is, gets in trouble a lot and can frequently be found mucking out stables and clearing tunnels as punishment, down for a good time, loves a laugh, a drink, a pretty woman of any age, likes people who have the same carefree/roll with it/maybe get punched or punch in the process streak that he does, hard-working, weirdly obsessed with glass-smithcraft, very flirty and is always serious about his advances, can be a loveable oaf if you are okay with crass idiots who need someone to teach them how to Be A Better Person

Looking for:

- People to flirt with, or have some kind of casual or past relationship with. Lorrox lives in the moment, does not want commitment, but likes most hedonistic things. Can also be dramatic if your character would take him too seriously and be hurt.

- People to fight with. Lorrox is going to say things that can get him punched, and it's cool if your character does the punching. He is the type who can brawl with you and not care about it the next day, as long as you are not being lame and harping on it. HOWEVER, he is a Candidate and doesn't actually want to get thrown out. So if you are another Candidate, it would need to be subtle/stop before it was serious.

- Connections with other candidates -- Lorrox kind of assumes he is going to fail at becoming at dragonrider like he fails at everything else. I'd really like an RP where someone questions his seriousness so I have an opportunity to reveal that Lorrox actually does care about Impressing, but is maybe afraid to make himself vulnerable by admitting it.

- Connections with Western folks in general -- he came here like 2 Turns ago just before Threadfall. It's like he's the harbinger of doom. But he has been here long enough for people to have encountered him.

- People who want to get up to hijinks. He likes hijinks.

- People in positions of power who want to put Lorrox in his place, or dole out a punishment for some stupid thing he did.

Lu'reni of Green Lazulith, Wingrider at Western Weyr

Basic info cheat sheet:

- 27, 5'4", female, light purply-gray eyes, honey blond hair worn in a long braid, lean build, tan skin

- Parental History: Born in Igen Weyr to a bluerider father and beastcrafter mother, invited to the Sands with thoughts of her docile nature making for a malleable future Weyrwoman to a gold but instead Impressed a green at 14, female riders were looked down upon at Igen so it was a rough going for her, left Igen when she was 24 to head to progressive Western

- More Recent History: Was happy to just run drills and exist with Lazulith and was dismayed at the Threadfall, tried her best to be useful to moderate success, currently trying to focus on becoming a more effective dragonrider

- Personality: Lu'reni -- extremely optimistic cheerleader who will try to make everyone around her happy, will offer her shoulder to anyone who needs a listening ear, wants to improve herself, very supportive and happy to be in a role that makes other people look good, her highest aspiration is to be valued as the right-hand woman for a more powerful personality, can get her feelings hurt easily, struggles to make connections that are deeper than her sea of acquaintances, can be easily overlooked or ignored and insecurity keeps her from doing much about it

Lazulith -- a timid, forgetful dragon who loves Lu'reni a million times more than Laz believes in herself, epic in her indecisiveness and happy to follow orders, average in skill but loving in personality.

Looking for:

- A wing to join! She follows orders well, but will be no one's ace fighter.

- People who have strong feelings about the Weyrwoman. Lu'reni idolizes her and would love to gush or argue with people, depending on how they feel.

- Connections with other riders -- she has been at Western for 3 Turns so I am happy to assume backstory versus a getting to know you RP.

- Flight/romance storylines -- Lu'reni is romantically shy and will basically fall in love with any one who flies Lazulith and struggle to move on from those feelings for a long time. She just wants to be loved, okay.
