Physical Description: Waist length black wavy hair bound in a loose braid, sea blue eyes, and lightly tanned skin with splotches of freckles on his face and body. Often mistaken as a girl.

Personality: Well-Mannered and liked by those that know him very well, he is the kind of person who will lend an ear to someone. Growing up with people's less than stellar opinions of him has caused him to be bitter towards those specific people. He finds it hard to brush away those comments, locking those feelings inside. It was only until he had Khalath that he could express those feelings and safely vent to someone.

History: Born in Rivercrest Hold on the Western Continent, K'aida is the second eldest of twelve children. Being the children of a Craftmaster Courtesan, it is no surprise that all the children (besides the twins) have different fathers, and that she wanted them all to follow in her footsteps as an entertainer. Growing up as a child, he loved listening to the Harpers play their music and would silently lip sing to their songs. Since he was young, people have often been complimenting and praising him for his feminine features. On the eve of his 8th Nameday, his uncle from Fort Hold managed to convince his mother to let him go to Harper Hall, helping him to avoid the path that his elder sister couldn't escape from.

Ever since he arrived at Harper Hall, he had been ostracized due to his mother's occupation and his feminine appearance. Sensitive and hurt, he did his best to ignore them and dove into his studies with zeal. As the years went by, his skills in his craft flourished. Weeks before his 16th Nameday, a rider came to Harper Hall and requested that he come with them to High Reaches Weyr as a Candidate. With permission from the Master of Harper Hall, he went off to be a Candidate, and just a few days after his 16th turn, he was given the honor of being Khalath's rider.

When he turned 19, he was deemed ready to walk the table and become a Journeyman. Even though it has been 11 Turns since he left home, he receives letters from his siblings every three months or so. His elder sister Carina had moved onto Bitra Hold shortly before K'aida's 16th Nameday, his one Turn younger sister Elaine was raped at 15 and died in childbirth giving birth to triplets which left his now 18 Turns old brother Elias to care for his twin sister's children while moving themselves to High Reaches Weyr. K'aida's nine year old brother was just accepted as an apprentice at Ista Hold, and four of his younger sister managed to escape Rivercrest sometime around the same time he left Fort Hold; his twin sisters Melia & Amalia made it to Fort Hold and managed to become Apprentices at Healer Hall, and his younger sister Cecily managed to take with their younger sister Tali to Southern Boll Hold where Cecily is now nearing the end of her Apprenticeship in weaving while Tali is still Apprenticing. His mother went on to have seven more children, three of which died young due to illness while one was stillborn.

Personality: Affectionate, assertive, and has quite the intellectual curiosity. As a hatchling, Khalath would practically demand K'aida to read aloud to them, their favorites being history and philosophy.

Carina: Age 21 Turns. Eldest by 2 Turns. Became an Apprentice Courtesan at 8 Turns. Walked the table and moved to Bitra Hold when 18. Has two children, 3 Turns old daughter Gemma and 1 Turn old son Tobias. Now works as a perfume crafter.

Elias: Age 18 Turns. Became an Apprentice Harper while still living in Rivercrest. Lost his twin sister at 15 after she gave birth to triplets, 2 girls and a boy named Ryllis, Claire and Alain respectively. With their uncle's help, managed to get him and his nieces & nephew moved to High Reaches Weyr where he continues his Apprenticeship in instrument crafting while staying close to K'aida.

Elaine: Elias' twin sister. Forced by their mother to follow her ways as a Courtesan. Was raped at the age of 15 by one of their mother's customers, and died in childbirth giving birth to triplets. She wasn't able to name her son before she passed.

Cecily: Age 17 Turns. Shortly after her tenth Nameday, she smuggled herself and at the time five Turns old sister Tali out of Rivercrest to Southern Boll Hold. Managed to get an Apprenticeship at Weavercrafthall where she is now nearing the end of her Apprenticeship.

Halima: Age 15 Turns. The only sibling who has taken to being a Courtesan Apprentice with such enthusiasm and zeal. She dreams of being an exclusive Courtesan to Lord Gansley of Nabol Hold.

Lydia: Age 14 Turns. Somehow managed to convince her mother to let her work in the brothel kitchens.

Malia & Amelia: Age 13 Turns. Left Rivercrest at the same time as their brother Elias with the help of their uncle. Arrived at Fort Hold just a few days after Kaida left to become a Candidate. Are Apprentices at Healer Hall.

Tali: Age 12 Turns. Was smuggled out of Rivercrest by Cecily when 5 Turns old to Southern Boll Hold. Is an Apprentice at Weavercrafthall.

Cerena: Age 11 Turns. Purposely naive and sheltered, she does not know life outside of Rivercrest. Follows Halima around like a puppy and believes anything that she says. Is a Courtesan Apprentice.

Emery: Age 9 Turns. With help from their uncle, he managed to make it to Ista Hold before being taken on as an Apprentice at Glasscraft Hall.

Samina: Age 7 Turns. Beautiful despite her young age, her mother has high hopes of her making it far in the craft. Just became a Courtesan Apprentice.

Calem: Age 5 Turns. A very beautiful young boy.

Alessa: Age 4 Turns. An inquisitive and bubbly little girl. She likes watching the cooks make food.

Clara: Alessa's twin. Died at 2 Turns old from illness.

Licia: Died shortly after first Nameday from illness. Would have been 2 Turns old.

Marilynn: Died at 6 months old from illness. Would have been 1 Turn old.
