Ufunuo was at least beginning to settle back into pridal life, these lands beginning to feel like home, like a place he belonged. He had even met a lioness he had begun to feel close to. He supposed Daga had been right when he'd led him to these lands, not that Ufunuo would ever tell him that.
A soft smile, the dark lion approached the edge of the waterhole, his head lowered to take a long drink after a day of exploring. He stepped forward, dipping his paws into the cool water, watching as the dust was washed away from his paws. Another step, Ufunuo waded into the water until it reached his chest.
From a nearby rock, the crowned eagle watched from a safe distance from any splashing water (or so he hoped), eyes focused on his friend.
"If a fish bites your tail, don't say I didn't warn you."
"Don't be silly, Daga."
A paw splashed water in the bird's direction, earning a squawk and ruffling of wings in return.

|
Things were....slowly getting back to normal. As normal as one could be with the sudden loss of one's aprents.
They said time healed all wounds. Unfortunantely, no one told Ta'la'la how long that could be. But, for the sake of her younger siblings, she had to move on. They were here, her parents and younger, nameless brother, were not.
Light blue eyes watched as a dark form padded across the lands, a bird in tow. She had met this male few times. She smiled, glad to see he was settling in. The female shook her head, rising to her feet as she followed.
"And where do you think you're going?" A voice from behind her asked. Oh. Kalani.
"Just seeing what he's doing."
Kalani rolled her eyes, flying above the yellow female as she watched from the air.
"I don't need a baby sitter you know." She huffed, muttering as she moved. What was he doing? She watched the dark lion before approaching the water hole. "Some lions drink from that you know." She said with a small smile, staying on the water's edge.
Kalani landed on a rock near Daga. "He's yours?" The blue bird asked with a frown. |

Ufunuo could have pretended to be a crocodile as he waded through the water, ducking down until only his head and tail remained above the surface. A smirk on his maw, he stalked closer to the eagle perched on the rocks, full intending to splash the water all over him before he could escape.
"Don't even think about it!"
Daga had caught him, but that wasn't going to stop Ufunuo from the mighty splash he was about to unleash! Oh-he paused mid splash, his gaze turning to the lioness who had spoken. It seemed Daga was spared the deluge....for now.
"Mm-hmm. It's good for swimming too."
The dark lion grinned, demonstrating his point with a flick of his tail.
"You could join me."
Daga's eyes narrowed, watching the lion warrily. Oh, you want to start a water war do you? Don't start what you can't finish!
"He is."
The eagle turned to look at the other bird. Hello, I do not believe we have met.

Ta'la smirked when the dark lion was about to splash his avian companion, but he stopped when she spoke. Aww, too bad.
She snorted at his answer. "Lions don't want to drink your filth."
"Oh. No, that's okay. I prefer to stay dry thank you." She said with a small puff, watching the male curiously. It had been a while since she had swam...maybe when she was much younger? It was hard to say. Memories of her childhood were hazy with death looming over her.
Kalani glanced towards the lion, before back at the eagle. "You know, he is a terrible hunter. Almost got himself killed. You should train him better." The avian scolded, shaking her head as she preened her feathers.
"We haven't. It's Kalani." Her tone was short. It wasn't that she meant it, it was just how she was taught growing up. Katika never seemed to mind the shortness, so it never went away.

"It's no worse than drinking fish poop."
Ufunuo huffed, looking at her with mock hurt, lowering his head into the water to blow bubbles from his nose. Filth? He was not filthy thank you very much! Just a little dusty. Okay, a lot dusty, but that didn't mean he was dirty.
"Oh come on, it'll be fun."
A smirk, he stood to his full height, walking toward the lioness as water dripped from his fur. A paw raised, scooping through the water to splash water in her direction.
Daga stared at the avian for a moment before turning his gaze toward his friend.
"I have always known him to be an excellent hunter."
The eagle huffed quietly. As a team the pair had been unmatched in their skills, though perhaps Ufunuo was not so skilled on his own.
"I am Daga."

Ta'la made a face. Eww, did he really just say that?
As Daga had said earlier, Ta'la'la found herself scrambling backwards as Ufunuo approached, sopping wet. She eyed the paw he lifted, before turning her head quickly as it hit the water. She squealed when the water hit her.
"You didn't." She growled, fur raising on end.
Her tone caused Kalani to raise an eyebrow. She was about to interfere, when the lioness had pounced the darker male, pushing him back into the water, herself falling in with him. If she wanted to avoid getting wet, she was out of luck. She now found herself submerged in the murky liquid.
Shaking her head, Kalani turned back towards Daga. "Children." She chirped.
"Oh? I guess he didn't tell you about almost being trampled by trying to hunt a baby beast, with it's mother right there. Not very wise." |

Ufunuo smirked playfully, oh yes, yes he did, and he would do it again! Or maybe he'd just drag her into the water all at once.
"What are you gonna do about it?"
OH CRAP! Daga had seen it coming, he might have even tried to warn the dark lion, or maybe he wouldn't have, he might have been too busy laughing his feathers off.
Purple eyes grew wide, Ufunuo tried to escape, retreating backward from the lioness. Ahhhh! Too late! The lion found himself fully submerged in the water, right through to his fluffy mane. A moment later, he re-emerged, water streaming through his mane, bangs clinging to his face. He couldn't help but laugh, splashing more water at Ta as he tried to swim away from her assault. Well that was one way to get her to swim with him, even if it had not gone as he had planned.
Daga was nearly rolling with laughter, Ufunuo had gotten exactly what he'd deserved. A deep breath.
"I will have to remind him it is unwise to hunt when no one is watching your back."
And to not do stupid things to try to impress ladies.

Ta'la stood now in the water, about waist deep as she glared at the male. She did not want to go swimming, and look at her now, all sopping wet! Well... Since she was already in the water...
"You can't get away from me that easily, Ufunuo!" She growled playfully, swimming after the male in the small lake, kicking up the muck from the bottom as she pushed herself off the ground to get momentum in the water. She found her front paw lifting from the water, smashing it down to send the wave towards him.
Kalani made a small snort, hiding a small smile behind her blue wing. Well, at least Ta'la was getting back to her old self. Her mother wouldn't like her remaining mopey. She glanced at Daga.
"Good. Otherwise you need to be with him all the time. Or...find a suitable substitute when you aren't." She advised, hoping back to avoid a splash of water that unintentional was aimed towards them.
"Do NOT get these feathers wet Ta'la'la Kanesda!" Kalani scolded. |

Oh ho ho. It was ON.
Ta'la'la swam after the male, until he disappeared under the water. She glanced around, to see where he might appear. It only took a moment but the lion ha sprang from the lake's depths pouncing over her, water sloshing everywhere.
Including the two avians nearby. Kalani, following Daga's lead, lifted from her rocky perch, landing next to him on the nearby branch. "You're going to have child watching duty for a week!" She cawed, the water rolling of her feathers in small rivets. Luckily, the water hadn't sunk to the softer feathers underneath. Those were a pain to dry, as Daga said.
Ta'la'la paused at Kalani's threat. She shrugged slightly. So she'd have to watch her brothers and sisters. She was okay with that. "Ufunuo will help." She voluntereer, shrugging before she attacked the male again in the water. |

Ufunuo turned to stick his tongue out at the eagle, a gesture Daga most certainly returned.
"You can use a bath, feather butt!"
"Oh I'll show you who needs a bath!"
Uh-oh! Ufunuo would find himself under assault from two sides as Daga took to the air to thwack the dark lion in the head with large wings. It was an assault that would most certainly earn him a wave full of water to the beak...so much for not getting wet, worth it.
"Hey, watch it! Ahhh!"
Another splash of water, this time with two paws, slinging water about both Ta and Daga. Hah! Take that! Ufunuo laughed, readying his next assault, that was until he tripped and splashed face first into the water. Fffffft.
"Wait, what? I never agreed to that!"
Too late Ufunuo, you've already been volunteered it seems. Oh well, worth it.

When Daga headed towards Ufunuo to his him, Kalani just watched with a frown on her beak. Oh, children. She shook her head, deciding she did not want to chance getting wet by either three party members, and took to the air, heading back towards the rest of the Kanesda clan.
"Too late." Ta'la'la grinned, pausing her movements to watch her mother's former bond fly away. Ah, she'd best be going soon. She was sure Kalani would be telling U'no'le he was relieved of his childcare duties for the time being.
The yellow lioness headed back to shore. Maybe she could enjoy a nice sunning to dry off before her watch began.
"You clean enough, Ufunuo?" she asked, quirking an eyebrow. She was basically asking, (without asking), if he would like to join her. |

"Yeah, I guess so."
A last splash toward his eagle friend, Ufunuo turned toward the shore, following after the lioness. Hah, with all the water streaming through his fur, he'd not have to take a 'bath' again for a week. The lion waiting until he was full on dry land before shaking from head to tail, sending drops of water flying in every direction, and his mane poofing comically as he shot a grin at the lioness.
A squawk of protest as the eagle was most certainly drenched by now. Daga folded his wings as he settled on the lion's back, shaking the water from his own feathers with a huff. He was going to have to find a sunning spot of his own if he hoped to dry his feathers out.
Ufunuo had bounded several steps away before turning to wait for the lioness. Yes, yes he would like to join her.
