xxxxxxxxx█ With a rough background and traumatic childhood, Shiden somehow grew up to be kind and caring. His first instinct is to protect, and is typically better at listening than speaking. Outwardly, he seems like your ordinary joe, but he's got lots of dorky and playful ideas hiding in his head as a form of escapism. He is greatly empathetic, and has no qualms putting himself in a tough spot if it meant he could help someone out. He can be quite dense, but also very sweet at the same time. He is, and perhaps the greatest of his downfalls, prone to blind rage, something he says he inherits from his father.

xxxxxxxxx█ Kinetic Absorption: The ability to withstand certain amounts of kinetic energy and use it to amplify their own movements or attacks. The user does not become immune to the kinetic force, they still feel the impact. The stronger the force, the stronger the return, so long as the user survives the initial hit. The peculiarity also reinforces the body to serve its function, making the users more durable than average. Shiden can either use the kinetic energy as a battery to go for a long duration of enhanced physical capabilities, or exert it all in an instant for a large blast. For example, he could choose to augment his lungs and legs to run a marathon at record speeds after getting hit with a heavyweight punch, or he could attack with his own strength AND the force of the received attack in one swing. It is theorized that the absorbed kinetic energy can be transformed into energy's simplest form: heat.

xxxxxxxxx█ Having a pro hero as a father, Shiden was raised in a household of stringent rules, overbearing expectations, and crushing pressure. Ever since he could remember, his father had been working him like an ox, doing practical combat training since the age of five. Shiden usually received punishment from his father just by spilling a drop of water when he is pouring himself a glass, and the punishments varied from belt lashings to heavy punches, but never any less. Shiden was used to these punishments, growing up to think that it was the normal thing to do, but as a child he's also been exposed to his father's abusive behavior toward his mother. Shiden would sometimes be forced to watch as his father beat his mother for reasons as simple as that she came home late, and this developed Shiden's wish to be a bulwark for his mother, so that she will never have to go through that ever again. This feeling of unconditional love for his mother started a rough patch between himself and his father, and eventually Shiden stood up for his mother which would often result in a full-on fight between his father and him.
Despite the rough upbringing, Shiden and his mother managed to survive through the ordeal, with Shiden learning kindness and compassion from someone who didn't receive a whole lot of it from the person who married her. While he despised his father's treatment of his own family, Shiden couldn't deny that his father was a pro hero. He had saved lives and put down nefarious villains, and from him he drew much of his attitude... but also his temper. Shiden has had an exemplary record at school since elementary grade, always being in the top 5 of athletic events and academic exams, but there seemed to be a redacted record in his first year of high school. From stories and rumors from his old school, it seems he began developing a ferocious anger issue, setting up a hierarchy among the students and set himself on top, beating everyone else who'd come close. Literally. For some reason, rather than hold it against him, the school had erased the records or sealed them into secrecy, but they still had to remove him from the school for the safety of the other students. Maybe Shiden would reveal this with to others in the future once he's made new friends, but something about it makes him clam up when it gets brought up.
