The
blond girl was almost oblivious to the approaching soldiers until the soft murmurs and cries about the cemetary quieted and a loud male voice started to speak. She listened intently to his words, feeling a mix of emotions at his comments. She was angry mostly. angry that, while she had received help by some stroke of luck, so many others had fallen, the battle had gone on for so long by the time there was any intervention. And while she was sure her roommates feelings and beliefs had began to rub off on her, she knew that what she'd heard of the fight, especially by the time Patrick had taken her to the forest, Calli had been there for most, if not all, of it. There were more students fighting than anything else in that time and the blonde girl couldn't understand how that could happen when the guards were meant to protect them.

Despite her own anger though, the man sounded sincere. His words sounded as though he were pained by all of the suffering on that day, maybe a little over dramatic, but perhaps that was warranted. Reese felt sorry for the man as he seemingly sobbed before the crowd. Reese was deep in thought when a gasp ran through the crowd and for a split second Reese panicked,
she couldn't see much aside from the various colors of mourning and worried that maybe there was another attack, but Calli still stood beside her, unmoving. Reese shook her head lightly as if to clear her thoughts. She felt a weight in her chest as though the panic was simply waiting for a reason to overtake her.

After the gasps Calli made a comment, and the blond girl looked up towards her friend, wanting to ask what happened but the speech kept on, when he finished people moved through the crowd and began to place candles on the graves. Reese saw the flickering yellow glow of dozens of candles now and began to feel uncomfortable, she felt the panic welling up again and when Calliope spoke, recommending they leave Reese replied without hesitation, "Yeah lets go," She wanted to visit again when the candles were extinguished and there was less of a crowd.

{{Exit with Calli/end interaction for the day}}

It seemed Very strange for Branwen to be taking such offense towards something that had initially seemed like just a bit of fun... They'd played games like that all the time back when he was 'home' - And rather much like those times, all he'd done was throw a blanket over her... That wasn't punishable was it?? For Crying out Loud...! Now where were they...? Wait...

Having not set foot in the Cemetery since the Ceremony following the Extremist attack on Eoana all those months before, it felt initially like a new land at first glance - at least until he recognised where they were... What baffled the Diviner was how out of character it had been for the White Raven to choose such a place to travel to - especially as Patrick knew there was little reason to visit now that the majority of souls had passed on into the next life... As before, Branwen remained silent, gliding over the mass of gravestones before coming in to land in the branches of a leafless tree...

"Branwen! This isn't funny anymore." Having been unable to do anything more than curse the Raven for her unexplained actions, Patrick decided now was time to try and intervene...somehow. "Why are we here? You know there aren't any Spirits in a Graveyard! They've all moved on!" That had to have been the reason she'd brought him there, right? Perhaps she'd become aware of a presence or something and had intended to drag him away to show him...? "And even if there was someone here, I can't do anything like this!" Naturally he would have made a sharp and expressive motion with his hands - but having joined with the Bird's subconscious, he was nothing more than a voice in her head... "...Bran!"

Still not a peep from the Raven... She just sat there in the branches... Patrick could feel the breeze in her feathers, the rustling of the leaves in the trees, but she just seemed to perch there, listening to the silence of the Graveyard... He tried to look around, searching for any reason she may have brought him there, but besides the graves and the occasional visitor tending to the flowers there, he could see nothing to explain her reasoning behind their journey...

"Bran, we need to go...it's getting dark." Continuing to ignore him, the White Raven's head turned and Patrick was able to watch as her beady eyes took in the Cemetery from varying angles... "Look, I'm sorry, okay?" He hoped she would reply, but instead, she remained silent, "It's no different from you pecking at my ears in the morning, I was just trying to be playful... Why won't you say something?!"

"Hff" Had that been an acknowledging sound? The Diviner wasn't sure, but in the end, the resounding silence led him to believe she had just exhaled noisily...

"Fine." He had to put a stop to this - there was no way he was spending the night out in the graveyard! Or on the Terrace Roof above the Gardens for that matter - It was fine for her as she could just ruffle up her feathers for warmth...but as he was linked with the Raven, his body would still be laying on the ground back at the Academy, open to the elements if nobody had discovered it by now... "I'm leaving."

"Try." Her first word! She had finally broken her silence...but it hadn't filled him with hope, infact, it would have left a knot in his gut had he been physically present... Was she doing this Deliberately!?

"Why are you doing this?!" With the silence once again resuming, Patrick would realise there was no point pressing her for an answer, he needed to find some way of breaking their link...and before nightfall! How did they do it normally? He tried to think, recalling how the Raven would always fly back to where she had left him, coming in to land and perching upon his knee, or his shoulder - whichever was closest - before settling down... Then it would be like a shroud being lifted and he would open his eyes and be back in his own body... He tried to picture this, walking himself through the process and imagining the Raven severing the link which had allowed the Diviner to fly with her, but as he opened his eyes, it would be through Branwen's that he would see and not his own...

"Still Here." Her voice almost mocking, the Raven would begin to preen, lifting her gaze to glance around every now and again for predators before resuming the act... She seemed most content to spend the night in that tree if she could.

"What would Grandfa do..." There was no option to sit and think for he was part of her subconscious...still there had to be something he could do... He imagined the Elder of his Family Clan sat in his Wagon somewhere out in the wilds, there was an essence of something wafting in the air - most likely herbs that had been collected on the trails burning somewhere out of sight - His Pipe lay by the window, his Violin nestled against his bed... Patrick remembered how the man would often sit in a state of deep meditation, seemingly asleep, but aware of all that was around him - if you tried to take anything, he'd sooner launch something at your head for trying than ignore it...

"What would he do..." With a vision of the Elder in his mind, Patrick's memory of past events gradually began to leak into light... He remembered when they had once passed through a land where the spirits were restless... He'd been young at the time and had not fully understood his abilities - His only wish having been to help those who needed it, but finding out the hard way that he could only help so many at one time...

His Grandfa had seemed the bad guy at the time, locking the youth in his own wagon and blocking the door - refusing to let him out, or anyone else in - until they had dealt with each entity individually... Patrick hadn't understood at the time, but learnt that it was important to sever the link with each Spirit individually, else they could follow him around forever... Perhaps this lesson could aid him now?

Settling his mind, the Diviner closed his eyes again, picturing a place where he felt safe before drawing deep, calming breaths and envisioning the entity to which he was linked... She would appear to him upon an old wooden stand, her White Feathers picking the Raven out from the background as she took in her surroundings...

Next, Patrick would picture those who made him feel strong - faces both old and new, from past and present, living and deceased... They would act as his guides, locating the ties which kept him bound to that one soul before standing guard as he traced each cord back its source...

It was important to know which tie was positive and which was not - for those that represented Love should be kept strong and enforced...He would send light through these positive cords, thanking the Bird for being there and supporting him...then turn his focus onto that which was negative.

In his mind, he would draw a knife, severing both ends of the negative string that linked them together before proceeding cut it into pieces... Once this was done he would then cast said pieces into a Divine Flame, watching it burn before requesting the Bird to take her leave... His green eyes would watch her take to the air and disappear before closing...
