Name: Ai'ja [Ainhaja]
Age: 43 turns
Sex: Cis female [She/her]
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual, slight female lean
Weyr: High Reaches Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: If applicable.
Physical Description: Ai'ja is hardly bulky, but she is certainly fit, and stands around 5’10”. Her bone structure is average in size, but she seems lean, with a runner's build...and she is quite good at running, too. While she is hardly a fighter, beyond her dragonrider training, she moves as if she were one, with a graceful yet solid stance, with good posture. She prizes function over form, tending to wear simple, plain clothing--albeit with a subtle flair, such as simple embroidery or design. She prefers to wear clothing that would suit her hopping on a dragon immediately, wherever possible. Despite the strength her poise radiates, she has several subconscious gestures, such as tucking her hair behind her ear frequently, that indicate when she is exceptionally distressed.

Ai'ja has blonde hair, which begins to curl past her jawline, but reaches past her shoulderblades, and fair skin, which burns easily in the sun. Her eyes are a deep, intense blue, with thin eyebrows arching over them. Her face is heart-shaped and her cheeks are round.

Personality: a stubborn woman who feels emotions strongly, but sets aside her emotions (mostly) in order to hold herself and others to strictly perfect standards.

Some call Ai'ja determined and strong-willed. Others call her stubborn. She is certainly a force of personality, tenacious and persistent. When she firmly believes in something, she doesn't budge, to the frustration of those around her. Compromise? What's that? When she really gets set on something, it's her solution or nothing at all. Despite this, she is easily frustrated when things don't immediately line up perfectly. Despite persevering, she gets annoyed when others don't live up to her high expectations of them. Impatient, both with others and herself, she expects things to be done right the FIRST time. Because of this, she can be a bit demanding. While she brings out the best in others, she also tends to annoy them. She's always the serious one, keeping others in line and on task. Her efficiency may be high, but she isn't exactly the most "fun" person around. In fact, it's all business with her.

In fact, Ai'ja doesn't seem to know how to relax, and in fact, she finds inaction and lack of productivity to be extremely stressful. While fierce in her defense and love of others, she can forget to think of her own needs, at times. She puts others first in every aspect of her life. Her main drives are to care for and protect others; to strive for perfection, in the most efficient way possible; and to lead by setting a good example. Only after that does she consider her personal goals. She never slows down, and always feels the need to be doing something.

That said, Ai'ja feels emotion strongly, and often acts on it, whether it be confessing her feelings to someone or expressing anger and frustration. When she gets emotional, she can be a bit rash, and often says things she wishes she could take back. She wishes she could be disciplined in all aspects of life, but when emotions run high, she tends to lash out or get overly upset. A big proponent of "grin and bear it" when it comes to herself, she's good at the bearing it, but less about the grinning. She will do her duty, do what is necessary, even if she's sobbing and inconsolable while doing it. Ai'ja doesn't want to inconvenience or bother others, so she rarely asks for support, preferring to try and suppress her more impulsive, emotional urges. Overall, she remains relatively level-headed (outwardly) in work-related stress, and even in daily life, but when personal and emotional stress throws her off, the mask cracks and reveals the roiling emotion and sensitivity beneath, belonging to an easily upset woman.

She is sensitive to emotional pain, but remains outwardly strong and inwardly resilient. Generally speaking, she thinks with her heart, following empathy over logic, at times. Despite the chaotic intensity of the emotions and empathy she feels, she is an orderly, neat person, who values accuracy and precision, but also efficiency, preferring to maximize both her time and that of others.

Although opinionated, she is good at compartmentalizing so that work and personal life do not mix. That said, work often bleeds into her personal life. She's an overachiever who loves her job, and needs to be reminded to take it easy on herself at times. Ai'ja believes in hard work above all else. She expects the best of others and herself, but remains compassionate and caring, when given sufficient reason to let up. She can be quite the taskmaster, but won't drive someone to their breaking point, and will soothe them if she accidentally does. Regardless of her own emotions, and regardless of her high expectations and demands, she tries to be a rock, a supporting shoulder to cry on, to anyone who needs it, and acts both composed and strong where she can, so that she can support others. She doesn't always feel strong, but she at least act it to best support others. Incredibly loyal, Ai'ja feels a sense of pride and love towards her family, friends, duty, and Weyr.

Ai'ja doesn't like change, and she's certainly not a flexible person. She doesn't adapt easily, and can come off as a bit rigid. She'd rather stick to routine and schedule, even when it gets in the way of her precious productivity.

Positive Trait List determined, motherly, orderly, empathetic
Negative Trait List stubborn, sensitive/vulnerable, impatient, workaholic, strict/serious

History: Born to a pair of dragonriders in High Reaches Weyr, Ainhaja was raised with a traditional view on life, waiting for the threat of thread to return. As an only child, she was raised in the creche alongside many other children. Despite this, her parents always made time for her, spending their freetime in the creche with Ainhaja. Some children were jealous that Ainhaja's parents made her such a priority.

Despite having a few friends over the turns, Ainhaja was always the "sensitive one" in her friend group--the one who would cry, acting vulnerable and anxious. It wasn't that she was teased or disliked, of course. She was friendly, if not vulnerable, and especially close to a handful of her peers. Given her family dynamic, she wished that she had a sibling to share her parents with, but her creche friends felt like family, too. She kept some of her sensitivity and empathy, but around 16, she started becoming stronger, for the sake of others, following her father's death, caused by a mild illness on top of a preexisting condition of the immune system. Ainhaja started to take care of the youth in the creche, and soon after becoming a rock for others, she found her own voice.

Despite becoming a candidate as soon as she was able, Ainhaja didn't Impress right away. Then, at 18, she finally Impressed. Heranoth hatched, looking awkward in appearance but moving with grace as he slid free from the shards of his egg. He made his way directly towards Ainhaja--now Ai'ja. Ai'ja-mine, I have waited for you, just as you have waited for me. We are together now. You will never feel alone any longer, for I will be your rock. He said exactly what she needed to hear, even if he grew more quiet and solemn as the turns progressed.

Naturally, Ai'ja spent little time socializing with her fellow weyrlings. Now that she had a dragon to take care of, she poured all of her effort and time into that--even moreso than the other weyrlings. She might chat while oiling her dragon, maybe, if it didn't distract or slow her, and she saw them in lessons, but for the first few months of weyrlinghood, she only knew the others from their candidacy and childhood together.

One of her fellow Weyrlings, a bluerider called M'lys, wormed his way into her life. A charismatic and handsome man, M'lys could have anyone he wanted--but he wanted her. At first, she found him a nuisance, always bothering her while she had things to do. His persistence in trying to befriend her eventually made him grow into her closest friend, and later, her romantic partner. A few turns following weyrlinghood, they married, and when she was 23, she gave birth to her son, Yainlli. She loved him dearly, and became his biggest support and fiercest advocate as soon as she saw his face.

She was so proud of her son when he Impressed, carrying on the "family tradition" of riding a High Reaches dragon. He would make her proud by doing his duty, a duty that she would never keep him from, even if later in life, she would wish she could...

They cared for their son, with Ai'ja always finding time for him, but when she was 40, her son in his teenage years, thread began to fall. Suddenly, she was busy with an even more intense schedule, determined to excel at fighting thread. Still, casualties from the first fall were horrifying. Among the dead was M'lys, who betweened forever following a serious threadscore. Ai'ja was heartbroken, but determined to push onwards, despite this.

DRAGON
Name: Heranoth
Age: 25 turns
Color: Brown (#5e4a3b)
Size: 41 feet
Physical Description: In build, Heranoth is large. He has a wide chest and ox-like shoulders, giving him a bulky, muscular appearance. With powerful limbs, he will always be capable physically--in all but speed. Slow, yet deliberate, Heranoth moves with a gentle, regal grace, surprising for his size and build. Despite being sturdy and large, Heranoth is a little...short. With his trunk-like, thick legs, he is low to the ground, an interesting combination. While a greater length than height might make some dragons look elegant or lithe, his bulky build just makes him look awkward. Somehow, this strangely-built dragon manages to maneuver with slightly above average grace on the ground, each movement careful and thought out. His wings, longer than one would assume for the length of his other limbs, grant him more maneuverability in the air than most browns of his size.

Heranoth's coloration is dark, an almost-black shade of brown. His head fades to a softer, less saturated shade of brown, and spirals of glittering brown, alternating between pale and dark, color his wings.
Personality: a quiet, noble brown, this dragon is a noble soul who is rooted and down to earth in his worldviews, kind and protective in his daily dealings

Generally a quiet dragon, Heranoth doesn't feel the need to interject his opinion or fill the air with meaningless chatter. He doesn't judge those who speak a lot, but he is content to listen to others, rather than speak himself. It isn't that he is afraid to speak his mind, when the situation calls for it, or that he avoids speaking--he just sees little reason to speak for the sake of speaking. Not one for small talk, he prefers deep and meaningful conversations, even if speaking to strangers.

Heranoth, in a word, is noble. He seeks to do good, and does so with a regality and graciousness that is earnest and heartfelt. Despite his large size and deep voice, he is a gentle, soothing presence, who acts and speaks with tenderness. Despite being, of course, younger than his rider, he seems older than her, in many ways. Wise beyond his years, Heranoth believes in the values of kindness, generosity, and hard work. He likes to do things in a way that he can be proud of--completely, thoroughly, and well.

Although generally calm and mellow, Heranoth is passionate about helping others. He is protective of his loved ones and those he takes under his wing--whether it's another dragon to mentor (he likes mentoring), a child (he loves children), or even the entire Weyr. Whoever he turns his noble sense of duty towards, he will protect, even if he often treats others like children in doing so. Although it is difficult to awaken this dragon's temper, threatening those he cares about is a surefire way to make him rise to anger, even to violence, if necessary. Otherwise, he is quite the pacifist.

Heranoth's mindvoice is low in pitch, with a certain rumble to it. The rolling tones of his voice are beautiful and brassy--enough so that most don't mind that he speaks rather slowly.

Okay, so she looks really good so far, but she's lacking major flaws. Right now the main thing that stands out is that she lets work bleed into her home life, but that's pretty normal and not necessarily a character flaw. Can you give her a little TLC and try to work out some major downfalls for her?

Expanded a little bit on the traits that I feel like are a detriment to her, but if necessary, I can solidify and focus on them even more.
