Personality: No matter how invested he might be, R'dan usually manages to give off the air of someone who has better things to do. His default expression leans toward disinterest, even irritation, and when paired with his physique, he can make an intimidating first impression. Fortunately, it doesn't take long for him to laugh or smile, his unfettered grins most often stemming from the promise of a dangerous challenge. He's not exactly reckless (he leaves that to his dragon), but he does enjoy taking on the tasks that others shy away from and coming out mostly intact on the other side. And roughhousing. He likes that too.
Despite his tendency toward controlled chaos, R'dan was on track to become the head of Durun Hold, once upon a time, and he was quite well suited for it. He is a fair and objective man, if a little brusque about it all, and he has a noble bearing befitting the Holder he might have been.

History: Durun Hold was only ever a Hold in name. A tiny, somewhat transitory commune in the northern mountains, it was made up of about six stubborn families who thought themselves trailblazers, but were actually just a little weird. The toughest of them were Zerah ahd Wharn, explorers with loud mouths and good ideas. They were the obvious choices to make decisions for the group when it decided to settle, and their eventual son was groomed to succeed them.
Rhodan was generally a lot quieter than his parents growing up, but that only served to force people to listen more closely. It made him seem smarter too, as silence often does. He had grown rather self-important by the time his parents first brought him to a proper Hold, but seeing how High Reaches operated soon cured him of that. Rhodan grew into the traits that got him respect from his fellows, never forgetting how his betters behaved either.
At eighteen, curious to see more of the outside world, he suggested that he act as Durun's ambassador, seeking out larger Holds to open serious trade relations with. Two years later, while on a routine trip to Ista, he was Searched to Western. Durun fell apart after that, the families that comprised the "Hold" going their separate ways now that their future had gotten himself weyr-ed up. No one really missed the place, in fact, most didn't even know it had existed at all.

Physical Description: On paper, Fel is of an average length for her color, but in person the first thing one might notice is just how unconventionally long her tail is. It is a dexterous instrument, making up for her squat limbs and body while in flight but doing her no favors on the ground. She runs a little like a hopping rabbit, though she doesn't seem to mind.
Personality: Feleveth knew from the moment that she spilled onto the sands that R'dan was the rider for her. When she wants to jump off of something high, he's there to tell her when to spread her wings. When she wants to hop Between on a whim, he makes sure they know where they're going. She is a happy dragon, keen to lift spirits and make everyone feel welcome, but she can be rather dim too, almost to the point of endangering her existence. She says what is on her mind, and while her thoughts are generally positive, she has been known to ruffle some feathers when her opinions aren't that flattering.
