Nindo: Never regret the decisions you've made. Learn from them. Personality: Mikoto is a stubborn brat, if you really boil it down to the basics. She was born to luxury and got used to getting her way, and even now that she is not sleeping on silk sheets, she is still as stubborn and set in her ways as ever. Meticulous to the point of idiocy, she insists on getting things done "the right way, or no way at all", and when things don't go her way she turns into a sarcastic ball of pure salt. That being said, she possesses an incredible ability to grit her teeth and get things done - partially because she is far too stubborn to back down when she's already set her mind on something. She believes that other people's actions are never an excuse as to why she could not accomplish something, and she beats herself up for her failures - but never regrets the decisions she's made before them. Moving forward is her way of dealing with stress and she presses on regardless of how much she wants to crawl into a hole and die. She also has a tendency to switch between being a polite, reserved young woman - er, excuse me, "young man" - and a sassy spitfire of a teenager that can and will do the opposite of whatever you are telling you to do just to get a rise out of you. If there is anything Mikoto loves, it's pushing people's buttons. Yet she is also incredibly loyal to her village - even if it no longer exists as such - and the few people she's managed to keep as friends.

Background: Mikoto was born as the daughter of the Daimyo of the land of wind, back when such a title mattered. Spoiled and revered, she was well-set on continuing to live with every commodity and with every whim answered, if only she had not had one tiny personality flaw. You see, Mikoto was not content with the fate left to women of her statute, and a life of luxury meant nothing if she would be forced to marry a stranger. Worse than that, however, was her disagreement with her father over the way he looked at the people of the land of wind. Where he saw mere servants to his will, Mikoto saw people that deserved protection. These arguments colored her early life. Much of her remaining time was spent studying the way of the shinobi, which she had grown utterly infatuated with.
Unable to convince her stubborn old fool of a father to let her attend the academy in Sunagakure, Mikoto did the only thing she could think of: sneak off and pretend to be a boy in order to enroll at the academy. Thankfully, her parents often had better things to do than pay attention to her whereabouts, allowing her to be gone for weeks at a time without them noticing, as long as her governesses covered for her. Persuading the Jounin in Sunagakure to allow her to continue with her ruse was harder, but one of them found her determination to be rather inspiring, and thus the girl started her days as Makoto No Sabaku.
Surrounded by children whose families had practiced the shinobi arts from their inception, Mikoto was... not good. Unused to having to work for her own achievements, she quickly realized that the life of danger and excitement she's fantasized about all her life was little more than a childish daydream. The reality of ninja training was rough, sweaty and more than occasionally covered in mud. Yet sheer pride and stubbornness prevented her from giving up. She would prove though who laughed at her wrong, she decided. Then she would be the one laughing.
She made it to the rank of Genin, but no one ended up laughing after all. The wore that broke out soon consumed Suna, leaving it abandoned as most of its citizens fled to the remaining villages. Displaced, the girl refused to abandon her loyalty to Suna, and continues to wear the village's headband even as she travels as a rogue. Along her travels, the girl came upon a pair of strange individuals that delivered her a letter from her father - turns out he survived, but fled to a far-off region where the war would not reach him. He wanted her to come home - but Mikoto refused. Instead, she continued to pose as "Makoto" and stuck close to the strange duo. In return for protection and company, she offered her medical expertise, however limited it was.
The journey ahead is perilous, but Mikoto is determined to make herself known, for the sake of the lives that were lost in Suna, and the friends she had lost.

First Class: Medical Class ▱▰▱ Medical Expert → Shinobi of this discipline are experts in medical nin in all aspects. Those who pick this discipline have their medical nin limitations mirrored between the three different types of medical ninjutsu; healing, situational, and offensive. The shinobi also obtains 3 custom techniques for medical ninjutsu. Second Class: Puppeteer Class ▱▰▱ Army of One → You make use of your puppetry to highly unique characteristics. Each of the user's puppets are able to have three mechanisms which are completely unique to the puppet itself. For approval purposes, you can still have the same mechanism approved and used for multiple purposes. It just does not go against your mechanisms granted by the class.

Strengths: • Puppetry and medium to long-distance combat and healing. • Stubbornness and determination to get things done. • Fine chakra control and attention to detail. Weaknesses: • Virtually useless in close-ranged combat. • Prideful and stubborn, easily riled into a fight she cannot win. • Support-oriented, she is heavily reliant on the presence of an ally to fight with her. Fears: • Being forced back into her gilded cage. • Having her nails torn out (it's a weird fear).
Modifiers: • Learn 1 extra Medical technique per post. • Learn Kugutsu 1 post faster. • +8 Mechanisms • +3 Puppet Points Personal Attributes: • Sunagakure Heat: Fuuton and Katon techniques can be empowered to apply half a dose of dehyrdration per rank as if they were Shakuton techniques when they hit, raising their temperatures such that they leave visible heat in their wake, moreso than the norm. This increases their cost by 10 per rank when used. • Drink in the Heat: The Shakuton bloodline member is able to use their Heat techniques with single handed seals, and also can choose an extra tai or buki style at character creation. • Combat By Proxy: Mikoto is able to weave signs and perform known jutsu through specially-designed puppets (including additional puppet hands), allowing jutsu to be performed long-range.

A bundle of blankets rested near the long-extinguished campfire, and would have been easily dismissed as a mess of unneeded clothing if not for the minute yet rhythmic rise and fall of the outermost layer. A yet more keen observer would note the tiny opening near the top of the bundle, from which a few strands of purple-black hair could be seen. A bigger clue was the fact that, if listened to closely, the blankets made a tiny noise with every rhythmic motion, like a kitten purring in its sleep. Indeed, that easily-overlooked bundle was none other than Mikoto - or, rather, Makoto, for now at least - desperately trying to keep warm in this frigid, unwelcoming environment.
Mikoto was cold. The chill seeped through several layers of thick blankets and into her very bones, and even buried as she was, she could not stop shivering. The entire night was filled with her searching for a way to get comfortable on the ground - such a barbaric way to sleep! - and only succeeding to wake up trembling to the point of it becoming painful. You see, here is a funny thing about Suna. It's in a desert. A hot, scorching desert. The entire Land of Wind was a big stove-top, nice and warm and comfy. But this? This was horribly cold, especially in the mornings. Whoever decided this weather was acceptable needed to get fired. Then hired and immediately fired again. And then stabbed, for good measure. Mikoto would appreciate being the one doing the stabbing.
Szen's urgings were met with an angry hiss as the small girl's head finally surfaced from the blankets. She regretted the action almost immediately and flinched as the cool morning air hit her warmed cheeks. The girl pressed her teeth together to avoid them from clanking against each-other and pulled the blankets ever tighter against her body in a desperate attempt to keep warm.
"W-what is our next destination?" Mikoto managed to stutter out between shivers. She tried to keep her voice a little on the low side, to keep up with the ruse she had going. Kami only knew what would happen if these two suddenly found out that their travel companion "Makoto" was a girl this whole time... Mikoto didn't want to think about it.
