Alexandre Lévesque was the heir of the 353 year old dynasty of jewelry charmers. Not any old jewelry but jewelry of the finest materials and craftsmanship in Europe (or so many claim). Raphael while having the most interest in his father's business knew that he would never inherit the dynasty over his older brother and sister. To prove himself and make a name of his own he began to design and creating his own lines.
One of his clients in 2025 was the renown Beauchêne family. Jon-Clement sought out a necklace for his beloved daughter Manon. Raphael created a custom designed piece without much thought, till the most beautiful woman walked through the doorway of the London store he ran (having earned that much distinction by his father). She introduced herself as Manon Beauchêne and explained she insisted on meeting the man capable of making such beauty. Two years later the two married and after much trying, their sole child and daughter was born in 2033.
The two had decided to remain in London as Raphael designed and Manon acted as a muse for Raphael and a local socialite. In the meantime, both doted on Margaux and gave her the very best of everything. The question of who will inherit the dynasty has come into question over the past two decades as the oldest son of Alexandre Lévesque and Chloé Lévesque decided to elope with a muggle man! However, Raphael's older sister Emma does have a son even though he is younger than Margaux.
Margaux attempts not to be bothered by family politics and wants to follow her father's footsteps and be one of the best (if not the best) designer of jewelry in the world. In the meantime, she studies as needed finding academic and musical and artistic pursuits not particularly difficult. She is looking forward to studying magic even if it is with the riffraff that Hogwarts lets in.
--------------------------------------- Hogwarts Years: Margaux did quite well academically at Hogwarts besides Herbology where while she was more than willing and did study the theory of herbology, she refused to step foot in the greenhouse after her first class of Herbology. All the dirt horrified her and while she was able to brush off her distaste for the class as an elitist point of view it far more mattered that she was horrified by dirt and grime. Margaux of course used an idea of superiority as reasons not to do things even in the few times her social position had nothing to do with why she objected to something.
She had joined the Language Club which was eventually led the oh so gorgeous and brilliant fellow Slytherin and not-fellow muggleborn Agust Li. He was her first crush and made her realize some muggleborns (or halfbloods or poor people) were worth her time to make friends with. She began to value individuals not for what they were but what they could do. Obviously pure was preferred but talent was necessary.
Unfortunately for Margaux, most Summers she would spend in France with her Aunt's family (the Ariès family) and her grandfather. Margaux desperately wanted to rule over the Lévesque Dynasty with her talent as a jewelry designer and charmer, but her gender denied her the automatic inheritance. Her cousin Gaspard, despite his flirty ways and lack of intellect or business sense, was a contender for the crown. Fortunately, her aunt Emma proposed the summer between Margaux's sixth and seventh year for Gaspard and Margaux to marry soon after the two year junior Gaspard's graduation. Margaux has not found a way to escape the union and pursue her dreams.
Quite sensibly, Margaux chose to focus on her academics and leading the Language Club which August Li had handed to her. She finally got her wish to focus on Portuguese and chose her future successor to be fellow Slytherin Hailey Scheer while also offering a modeling job for the plain beauty to show her new line of more affordable jewelry focusing on gemstones, crystals, and metals more in the price range of the middleclass female, designs to be beautifully simple and casual. Margaux juggled learning and teaching a new language all while studying for her NEWTs. She was able to do both quite well not scoring less than an A on any exam. Her strengths showing to be: Potions, Transfiguration, Alchemy, and Cursebreaking; her weaknesses shown to be: Astronomy, History of Magic, and Arithmancy. Her weaknesses mostly reflecting her belief to be superior to the details of a portion of each subject.
------------------------------------- After Hogwarts: Raphael Lévesque and Manon Lévesque were appalled by Raphael's sister's plan to ensure both her son and his daughter together inherited the Lévesque Dynasty. Raphael proposed for the marriage to wait till Gaspard turned 21 at the very least (and hopefully was at least the same height as his daughter, Margaux, was in a low heel). Raphael was well aware that Margaux wanted to rule solo and in his opinion had the talent to do so. As a graduation gift Raphael gave Margaux a jewellery vending location in Diagon Alley to which he named "All that Glitters" for her. Raphael informed his ambitious daughter that she could do anything she wished with the gift along with a loan to fund the initial stock and raw material for her work.
Margaux happily has taken over the jewellery vendor role while designing to her heart's content, currently focusing or a more middleclass market and costume jewelry as it is most profitable for a new business owner. She doubts she will be able to form a second Lévesque dynasty with only a stall in Diagon Alley, but selling her work (and seeing her work) on so many, is rewarding. Between work and flirting, her new favorite past time as she reasons she may have agreed to the engagement but she did not agree to be romantically or sexually faithful in the partnership, she is being kept quite busy. Margaux will be quick to tell you her type which may very well horrify even her doting parents - she likes someone who can speak a minimum of 2-3 languages, can quote poetry and philosophy, has a little bit of a "bad" boy edge with no preference in blood types (pure, half, muggleborn)
