He always has a smile on his face and a ready ear if someone needs it, and often will do whatever he has to to make sure that people don't feel alienated. He also happens to be good at diffusing situations because of this, and often uses this ability as a tool for trying to play peacekeeper. ◊ DETERMINED Laurie is also determined, knowing what he wants and how he's going to go about doing it. He's willing to put in the work to see the results, and often can overwork himself if he's not careful. He doesn't know how to quit as a result, and is as tenacious as a bulldog when he's got a mind for it. ◊ BRAVE If difusing a situation doesn't work, Laurie has no problems with stepping in if necessary. He doesn't have a problem with being the one put in harm's way if it means that other people are not. He's also willing to stand up for what he believes is right, and will stand in the way of anyone who tries to cause others problems. ◊ CALM Laurie is surprisingly calm under pressure. He's able to distance himself from situations that could cause others to crumble. He's also calm about everyday life as well, able to meet challenges without flinching and even putting aside emotions to deal with them. ◊ WELL-ADJUSTED As his early life wasn't filled with drama, Laurie is rather well-adjusted. He doesn't have any real anxieties nor does he have any regrets and tends to look to the future with a bit of hope, even when others might think there isn't any. ◊ CLEVER Above all, Laurie loves figuring things out and finding new problems to solve. He loves puzzles and working on reasoning things through, and has an eye for deducing things that others might miss. Peter was a muggleborn, while his mother was a halfblood, and Laurie grew up in a mostly magical household, though he experienced plenty of the muggle world too. He spent much of his youth trying to figure things out and finding things that his parents swore he was trying to be some kind of detective. Laurie used to proudly state that yes, he was, and he was going to be the greatest ever. As a result, his parents decided to encourage it by taking him many places to let him entertain this tendency, and by the time he was ready to go to Hogwarts, he had practically investigated every bit of the small town he grew up in. SCHOOL YEARS When he got to Hogwarts, he spent much of his time studying hard, with the occasional event seeming to shake things up. First it was rowdy classmates, then it was a coma that seemed to spread across the school in his third year. While he tried to use his deductive reasoning skills to figure the comas out, he was unsuccessful, and ended up just watching everything eventually resolving itself. Later years were no better, with the discovery of several dead bodies in the school only causing Laurie to become more and more determined to try and solve these crimes. By the time he'd hit seventh year, he was ready in every sense of the word to go into the Auror office, but when his grades for NEWTs came back, they weren't as good as he needed them to be. As a result, he figured he'd go into another branch of law enforcement. POST GRADUATION Laurie ended up going into the Witch Watcher office, deciding that was the best use of his skills. It was also around this time that he met and fell in love with a muggle, Brynne. He kept his head down, managing to finish his training and starting in the field within a year, around the same time as another Witch Watcher, Folami Soyinka, joined the office. Soon the two were pretty inseparable, and both were at each other's weddings as each other's best men. Laurie and Brynne also had a son, Parker Hadaway, during this time, and they ended up making playdates often with Folami and his wife so their daughter, Omolara, could have someone around her age to interact with. However, an event in 2033 changed all that. Laurie doesn't recall much of what happened, only that he started losing track of time. First it was missing where he left his keys, or not remembering why he came into rooms. Then it slowly started progressing to missing entire days. When that started happening, he found himself elsewhere entirely. He was no longer in England, and he had no memory of ever leaving the country. Then it got worse, as every time he thought about going back home, he found himself somewhere new entirely. He didn't even know who to contact, and sometimes found himself in places devoid of human contact.
