[PRP] Wanderlust (Melodiah x Uhlanga)

It'd been a long while since the young lioness had gone out simply to wander rather than hunt. The day couldn't have been more perfect for it either, warm sun high in the sky that bathed her in a comforting warmth. She had no permanent home, a loner of sorts yet she'd managed just fine thus far, simply camping for random amounts of time typically beneath a fallen log or in the shelter of large boulders. Her latest spot had been a large tree with a little creek nearby to drink from, but now was the time to find another place.

As she padded along she began to zone out a bit, staying on a random course with no clear objective, simply wherever her feet took her. Occasionally a critter would sneak a peek at her or run away but she never gave chase, she'd eaten before taking off while it was still cool.

Uhlanga was out and about he didn't really have much of a past, he had found himself alone when he was an older cub and didn't remember how he had ended up in that state. He didn't remember his parents nor did he remember if he was born into a pride, so he hunted small prey to stay alive and he hid to avoid the bigger predators who would gladly eat him. He continued on he was stronger now and feared nothing. He had grown up and was a great hunter now and mostly a loner he didn't have much tack and was a bit gruff. He spotted a female near by and he didn't pay her much mind not seeing her as a threat.

She had no real interest in her surroundings, still zoning out into her own little world until a junction made her come to a stop. Either way lead to a random location and normally she wouldn't care, but now something caught in her nose, ears swiveling to check around. It took her a bit longer than it should, but then again she'd been very much lost in her thoughts. A stranger, a male. While his pelt was fascinating to her he didn't seem dangerous, mainly due to a lack of fangs bared at her. At this point it may have become obvious she was sizing him up carefully just in case.

Uhlanga felt eyes on his pelt he looked back at the female he cocked his eyebrow at her and then said "Can I help you with something female?" His tone was harsh and a little gravely. He still wasn't bearing his fangs at her but he also wasn't being a charmer either. Uhlanga was a loner and that was clear by his manner and body language. "What do you want?" He asked sharply looking the female over. She was pretty enough, but he wasn't seeking a mate or even comfort in a random cave. He figured this meeting would be a short one.

Melodiah tenses as she stops her walking, that tone putting her on edge just enough to be wary. He is a male after all and she’s not very intimidating. “Nothing. I just thought your coat looked interesting, it’s quite nice.” She spoke with honestly while hiding a tinge of worry in her tone, gaze now focused on his face, his mouth for any sign of danger. “I’m just traveling, there’s no need for any trouble.” She’d then give her best smile, or the feline equivalent to one, while standing her ground waiting on his move. The last thing she’d want is trouble, especially considering she has nowhere to go for aid should a fight break out. Hopefully they could avoid that.

Uhlanga huffed out a breath at the female complimenting his coat he wasn't sure if she was trying to flirt with him or get on his good side if he had a good side he wasn't sure himself if he did or was just a hermit. He let out a harsh laugh "A traveler in the rogue lands can always be trouble and not everyone is going to let you live if you trot up to them with a cheery compliment." He looked the female over to judge her size to see if she had the mussel to defend herself at all.

The younger lioness might appear to lack strength, but what she does miss there she can make up with agile paws. Despite that she didn’t want to be in a confrontation, not when all she’d done wrong was get a bit too interested in the other lion’s coat. “Yes, I’m aware of that. I didn’t trot up to you, mind you, I was walking along about to pick a pathway when I saw you. It’s not as if I was stalking you...” Her words came out soft, though there was a slight sting to them hinting at slight agitation. It was frustrating to be in such a situation, especially when he seemed possibly aggressive. “Are you saying you’re going to attack me?” If it came down to it she’d fight tooth and claw, it wasn’t fear to fight so much as a hope to continue on peacefully. If he wouldn’t allow it though she wouldn’t hold back. Her hackles raised in reflex, guard raised.

Uhlanga cocked his eyebrow at the young female who was still following him and claiming that she wasn't stalking him, she complimented his coat and as far as he was concerned she was to close and certainly was within the distance that if he wanted to kill her he could have leapt onto her and ripped out her throat. He decided to say any of those things he wasn't her teacher and she wasn't his mate to protect it wasn't his job. He continued on, unsure what to say to this female, he wasn't good with dealing with others and he had already said too much and upset her as it was.

Melodiah just stands there for a long silent moment, the lack of noise deafening to her ears. All she’d done was like his coat. Was that some crime? Perhaps she’d stumbled across someone having a bad day, or maybe this male just wasn’t friendly to start with. She decided it best to not try and find out. The situation was too much, she wasn’t exactly equipped to kill him if needed. She wasn’t sure she had it in her to kill another at all, really.

After trying to read his posture she shifts slightly, changing the direction she’d been going in so she could avoid him and give a wide birth. Not once did her back face him, the lioness wasn’t stupid. You don’t turn your back on a stranger. She thought to herself. Now taking a few steps her gaze shifts over to him, wary yet showing she’s willing to part ways peacefully rather than actually have confrontation. The last thing she wants is to fight.

Uhlanga continued on his way he had no reason to hurt the female, he thought she was foolish and would likely get herself killed sooner or later but that wasn't his problem. He was a loner and would likely keep to himself unless a female got up in his face and demanded his attention which he thought unlikely to ever happen. So he would most likely live his life mostly alone. He didn't feel sad about the idea if he wanted he could find a female to take, but they were soft creatures and he didn't need one right now.
