RESERVED Gideon is very quiet, and contrary to his sister, will keep his mouth shut until he feels the need to step in or say something, which is hardly ever. He keeps to himself and only ever really talks to his family.
PERCEPTIVE Gideon has a knack for noticing when things are off, whether it be a change in someone’s mood or simply remembering where a lost item was placed, Gideon can usually find it.
PROTECTIVE Family is very important to Gideon, particularly his sister. He will go to great ends to protect them, even if that means getting into trouble in order to pull Rhiannon out of it. This protectiveness extends to close friends, as he figures it’s safer for him to go with rather than let them get into trouble on their own.

EARLY CHILDHOOD Gideon is the son of famous singer/songwriter, Caitlin Engels, and music producer, James McArthur, a muggleborn and a muggle, respectively. He and Rhiannon, his twin sister, were the product of a whirlwind romance that ended due to his mother’s secretive nature. Caitlin hid her magic from her husband and children, hoping to leave behind her traumatic past, but when her own children began to show signs of magical abilities, she had to come clean and explain. Gideon supposed he understood, he could tell his mother was clearly afraid of whatever she had left behind, but his father could not stand the deceit and left all three of them. Gideon did his best console his sister and mother, who had stepped out of the limelight to raise her magical children away from the press. He guessed it would be bad if one of them had somehow revealed magic to the muggle world. He knew Rhiannon blamed herself, but knew he couldn’t prove her otherwise, so he was hoping that the indulgence in magic at a magical school would help her see she wasn’t at fault and help him understand why his mother did what she did. He had to admit, he was a bit excited to go.

SCHOOL YEARS
■ FIRST YEAR Gideon's first year at Hogwarts was nothing overly special. Well, nothing more special than a school for magic. He joined the Hufflepuff quidditch team as the reserve seeker. He didn't make quite as many friends as his sister, but, he was content.
