xxxPERSONALITYxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
SLY As the youngest child, Yuhei has always been prone to flights of mischief. He enjoys exercising his mind with puzzles, pranks, and acts of stealth--even better if he can combine all three into an elaborate masterpiece of a game. While he comprehends the need for rules to maintain a functioning society, he has been known to at times go rogue, holding the belief that there will never truly be progress without those that are willing to take the initiative to bend the rules a little to achieve a better goal… Though he will be the first to admit, sneaking pop rocks into the professor’s tea after a rude comment to one of his friends isn’t exactly for the greater good. But it is hilarious. Especially when they never found out it was him.
LOYAL Yuhei was always warned by his parents that people were often not what they seem. In today’s society, it’s nearly impossible to know who is truly worthy of trust. That is why when Yuhei does place his trust in another, he is a truly loyal friend. That said, he’s not so blindly devoted that he wouldn’t tell someone when they were being a right idiot. Part of loyalty is looking out for the other’s best interests, even if they might not appreciate it at the time.
INDECISIVE In Yuhei’s book, the best decision is one that is easily changed. It’s often frustrating to decide what he truly wants in any given moment down to the simplest choice of what to do for lunch. These are things he likes to figure out in advance, so there’s plenty of time to make an informed decision. This is a difficulty that can at times run deeper than it seems as Yuhei remains oblivious how hard it can be for him to commit to his responsibilities. Often times he will simply brush it off as “Who wants to be locked in to one thing, especially if something better presents itself?”, however concerning more important decisions it is really due to a fear of failure and the pressure of having to accept the consequences of his mistakes.
CONTEMPLATIVE The complexities of life have always fascinated Yuhei. “Why are we here? What is our destiny? What can be done to progress society as a whole, and what is my part?” It’s nice, sometimes, to be able to zone out and think about the grand scheme of things rather than the tiniest details of his potions assignment.
DRAMATIC Yuhei has always been prone to a dramatic flair. He likes to goof around every once in a while, and occasionally his inner geek gets the best of him with obscure references. He finds fun in cheering others with his theatrics, even if not everyone gets his eccentricities.
PERFECTIONIST Yuhei strives for quality over quantity in most aspects of life. Unfortunately, given his indecisive nature, it’s hard for Yuhei to determine when perfect is actually… Perfect. This is subject to change by numerous factors such as second opinions, mood, day of the week… The struggle is real.

xxxBACKSTORYxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
EARLY CHILDHOOD Yuhei is the youngest of five and the only son of Bolin and Suyin Feng. Growing up with his four older sisters in Hong Kong, he supposed his childhood wasn’t so bad. Yuna, Yuchen, and Yushi were all much older(by 12, 9, and 8 years respectively), so he hadn’t been especially close to them. Yuna he found to be overbearingly strict, more-so than his own mother. He looked up to Yuchen as his cool older sister, and Yushi… Yushi was kind, but a little strange in the way she would always try and read his ‘vibes’. Yumei, being only 4 years his senior, had always been his closest companion at home.
Yuhei’s mother was a cursebreaker, while his father a wizard lawyer. From Yuhei’s understanding, he represented a company that manufactured quidditch supplies, and thus often had to travel to Britain for business. Yuhei had joined him when at all possible alongside Yuna for as long as he could remember. Yuna always mothered him and strived to instill an interest in law in hopes that he would follow in hers and their father’s footsteps, but her efforts were met with indifference more often than not. Though he did have to admit, he loved travelling. Getting to experience a new culture and meet new people was exhilarating. He wasn’t sure about all of this law nonsense, but if it meant he could see the world? Maybe.
SCHOOL YEARS ■ FIRST YEAR Yuhei was sorted into the Zhulong party, just as his sister Yumei before him. He made friends with a couple boys from his classes and eventually befriended his sister’s mentee, Yangqiao. Somehow, much to the disappointment to Yumei, he joined the Association of Rice Enthusiasts and thus the battle of rice vs noodle was brought home over the Summer.
■ SECOND YEAR After receiving encouragement from his mentor, Chen Wenbou, Yuhei found himself trying out for the quidditch team. To his surprise he managed to snag the role of reserve seeker. His New Year’s break was spent pursuing every festival he could with Yuchen and Yumei. He may have also snuck pop rocks into his professor’s tea after she made a rude remark to his friend Ling, though he will admit to nothing if asked. Over the summer he managed to convince Yang and her father to join him and Bolin to see a quidditch match before accompanying his father on a trip to England with Yuna. Sadly, Yang didn’t seem too keen on the game. At least her dad enjoyed it.
■ THIRD YEAR Much to his dismay Yuhei had attracted the attention of a girl from Huanglong Party, Zhou Nuwa. She was a sweet girl, he was sure, but Yuhei simply wasn’t interested in such things yet and her determination was a little unsettling. Suddenly Nuwa was sitting with him at lunch every day, joining him for studies, and finding any excuse to hold his hand or sit shoulder-to-shoulder. Once he had even caught her writing “Feng Nuwa” over and over in her notebook! No matter how many times he tried to turn her down, the poor girl just couldn’t take the hint. Nuwa was practically glued to his hip the whole semester until Yang got in a fight with Cheng Jinlong and Yuhei jumped to her defense. Although Yuhei didn’t resort to physical blows, he may have cast fire to Jinlong’s backpack, earning him detention and a ban from attending the following quidditch match. Nuwa wanted nothing to do with him after discovering he was friends with “such a ruffian”. What a relief!
■ FOURTH YEAR Finally, with CARPs out of the way, Yuhei was free to join electives! The first thing he did was go out for the quidditch team and snagged the position of reserve Seeker. In schooling he had begun to take Modern Studies, Care of Magical Creatures, Wizard Law, Wandless Magic, and Tai Chi. With Yumei graduating soon, she had begun to express an interest in a career path. This lead Yuhei to begin contemplating his future. He still hadn’t the slightest idea, though he was pretty certain he wanted to do something for the greater good of the wizarding community… But what?
Over the Summer Bolin allowed Yang to accompany he and Yuhei on a business trip to England. Once Yang had gone home he was to spend a few weeks with his sister Yushi and shadow her work at the ministry. During this time he completely missed the magical creatures running amuck in England, having been more interested in pursuing authentic Chinese food in the area. He met the nephew of Professor Li, as well as a boy their age named Kam Hepburn. Initially he hadn’t been interested in exchanging information, but after hearing of Yang’s letters and texts, he began to pester Kam as well.
